They are used in military and aerospace applications and computer periphery equipment requirements, andare designed to operate in temperatures ranging from - 65˚C to + 125˚C. DPXNA/NE connectors are available in single, 2, 3, and 4 gang config-urations, with a total of 12 contact arrangements accommodation contact sizes 12, 16, 20 and 22,and combination standard and coaxial contacts.Contact retention of these crimp snap-in contacts is provided by the LITTLE CAESAR® rear release contact retention assembly. Press sleeve firmly into coaxial shell and crimp.After assembled coaxial is inserted into connector, push suppurt bushing into grommet until shoulder rests on tubular extension. Then pull sealing sleeve forward until it is snug on grommet.A.B.C.A.B.C.Carefully push inner conductor through rear insulator.While holding rear insulator firmly against ferrule, trim conductor to .156 (3.96)/.146 (3.91) dimension.Place contact over conductor and solder.A.B.C.SEAL 14. Cable Assembly InstructionsStep 1 - If applicable determine which portion of seal sleeve should be used. If Seal 2 is used, cut off Seal 1 portion.Step 2 - In sequence, place seal sleeve, support bushing and crimp ring over cable jacket. Step 3 - Trim cable per illustration.Step 4 - Comb out braid and flare out ends to permit entry of ferrule.Step 5 - Complete termination per illustration.5. To extract coaxial, push back seal sleeve and support bushing. Slip cable into extraction tool Push tool into insert until contacts coaxial retain- ing shoulder. Grip both cable and tool with one hand and pull coaxial rearward out of insert cavity.6. To facilitate extraction of contacts, the length of free cable adjacent to the rear surface of the connector should not be less than 2.000 (50.80).Polarization PositionsMIL-C-81659B requires that polarizing post beshipped unassembled with the connector. The user then assembles the post in the preferred position and marks the position number on the connector. All DPXNA and DPXNE connectors shall be sold this way. The position number will not be marked.The last two digits in the four-digit dash number refer to the polarizing post position. The polarizing posts will be shipped unassembled with the connectorassembly. The position number is not stamped on the connector. The advanced process, combined with a RISC-based architecture, allows high-speed computa-tion, flexible I/O control, and efficient data manipulation.Throughput is enhanced by operating the device at fre-quencies up to 50/75 MHz and by optimizing the instruc-tion set to include mostly single-cycle instructions. In addition, the SX architecture is deterministic and totally reprogramable. The unique combination of these charac-teristics enables the device to implement hard real-time functions as software modules (Virtual Peripheral™) to replace traditional hardware functions.On-chip functions include a general-purpose 8-bit timer with prescaler, an analog comparator, a brown-out detec-tor, a watchdog timer, a power-save mode with multi-source wakeup capability, an internal R/C oscillator, user-selectable clock modes, and high-current outputs.Figure 1-1. Input data used for an instruction must be valid during the time the instruction is executed, and the output result from an instruction is valid only after that instruction completes its operation. Unexpected results from successive read-modify-write operations on I/O pins can occur when the device is running at high speeds. Although the device has an internal write-back section to prevent such conditions, it is still recom-mended that the user program include a NOP instruction as a buffer between successive read-modify-write instructions performed on I/O pins of the same port.Also note that reading an I/O port is actually reading the pins, not the output data latches. That is, if the pin output driver is enabled and driven high while the pin is held low externally, the port pin will read low.3.2Port ConfigurationEach port pin offers the following configuration options: •data direction•input voltage levels (TTL or CMOS)•pullup type (pullup resistor enable or disable)•Schmitt trigger input (for Port B and Port C only)Port B offers the additional option to use the port pins for the Multi-Input Wakeup/Interrupt function and/or the ana-log comparator function.Port configuration is performed by writing to a set of con-trol registers associated with the port. Upon reset, the MODE register is initialized to 0Fh, which enables access to the port direction registers.After a value is written to the MODE register, that setting remains in effect until it is changed by writing to the MODE register again. For example, you can write the value 0Eh to the MODE register just once, and then write to each of the three pullup configuration registers using the three “mov !rx,W” instructions.The following code example shows how to program the pullup control registers.First the MODE register is loaded with 0Eh to select access to the pullup control registers (PLP_A, PLP_B, and PLP_C). MIL-C-81659 DPXNA/DPXNEHow to OrderCannon's DPXNA (non-environmental, Type IV) and DPXNE (environmental, Types II and III) rack and panel connectors are designed to meet or exceed the requirements of MIL-C-81659, Revision B. They are used in military and aerospace applications and computer periphery equipment requirements, andare designed to operate in temperatures ranging from - 65˚C to + 125˚C. DPXNA/NE connectors are available in single, 2, 3, and 4 gang config-urations, with a total of 12 contact arrangements accommodation contact sizes 12, 16, 20 and 22,and combination standard and coaxial contacts.Contact retention of these crimp snap-in contacts is provided by the LITTLE CAESAR® rear release contact retention assembly. Cable Assembly InstructionsStep 1 - If applicable determine which portion of seal sleeve should be used. If Seal 2 is used, cut off Seal 1 portion.Step 2 - In sequence, place seal sleeve, support bushing and crimp ring over cable jacket. Step 3 - Trim cable per illustration.Step 4 - Comb out braid and flare out ends to permit entry of ferrule.Step 5 - Complete termination per illustration.5. To extract coaxial, push back seal sleeve and support bushing. Slip cable into extraction tool Push tool into insert until contacts coaxial retain- ing shoulder. Grip both cable and tool with one hand and pull coaxial rearward out of insert cavity.6. To facilitate extraction of contacts, the length of free cable adjacent to the rear surface of the connector should not be less than 2.000 (50.80).Polarization PositionsMIL-C-81659B requires that polarizing post beshipped unassembled with the connector. The user then assembles the post in the preferred position and marks the position number on the connector. All DPXNA and DPXNE connectors shall be sold this way. The position number will not be marked.The last two digits in the four-digit dash number refer to the polarizing post position.
