The European market for lighting fixtures recorded a dramatic slowdown during 2009. Decline for residential lighting fixtures has been strong (around -10%) and trend for the commercial/outdoor segment was even worse. European imports of lighting fixtures decreased by 15% during 2009, going down by 11% from China and 16% from the rest of the world. In particular, Chinese imports decreased by 8% for residential and 14% for commercial lighting. Imports from the rest of the world decreased homogeneously both for residential and commercial. European production of lighting fixtures is equal to 10 Billion Eur.
