汽车驾驶前检查清单说明书
Preparing to DriveYou should do the following checks and adjustments every day before you drive your vehicle.1. Make sure all windows, mirrors, and outside lights are clean and unobstructed. Remove frost, snow,or ice.2. Check that the hood and trunk are fully closed.3. Visually check the tires. If a tire looks low, use a gauge to check its pressure.4. Check that any items you may be carrying with you inside are stored properly or fastened down securely.5. Check the adjustment of the seat (see page 75).6. Check the adjustment of the inside and outside mirrors (see page 83).7. Check the adjustment of the steering wheel (see page 64).8. Make sure the doors are securely closed and locked.9. Fasten your seat belt. Check that your passengers have fastened their seat belts (see page 14).10. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).Check the indicator lights in the instrument panel.11. Start the engine (see page 133).12. Check the gauges and indicatorlights in the instrument panel (see page 51).DrivingStarting the Engine1. Apply the parking brake.2. In cold weather, turn off all electrical accessories to reduce the drain on the battery.3. Manual Transmission:Push the clutch pedal down all the way. START (III) does notfunction unless the clutch pedal is depressed.Automatic Transmission:Make sure the shift lever is in Park. Press on the brake pedal.4. Without touching the accelerator pedal, turn the ignition key to the START (III) position. If the engine does not start right away, do not hold the key in START (III) for more than 15 seconds at a time.Pause for at least 10 seconds before trying again.5. If the engine does not start within 15 seconds, or starts but stalls right away, repeat step 4 with the accelerator pedal pressed half-way down. If the engine starts, release pressure on the accelerator pedal so the engine does not race.6. If the engine still does not start, press the accelerator pedal all the way down and hold it there while starting in order to clear flooding. As before, keep the ignition key in the START (III) position for no more than 15 seconds. Return to step 5 if the engine does not start. If it starts, lift your foot off the accelerator pedal so the engine does not race.Starting in Cold Weather at High Altitude (Above 8,000 feet/2,400 meters)An engine is harder to start in cold weather. The thinner air found at high altitude above 8,000 feet (2,400meters) adds to the e the following procedure:1. Turn off all electrical accessories to reduce the drain on the battery.2. Push the accelerator pedal half-way to the floor and hold it there while starting the engine. Do not hold the ignition key in START (III) for more than 15 seconds. When the engine starts, release the accelerator pedal gradually as the engine speeds up and smooths out.3. If the engine fails to start in step 2,push the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold it there while you try to start the engine for no more than 15 seconds. If the engine does not start, return to step 2.Driving5-speed Manual TransmissionThe manual transmission is syn-chronized in all forward gears for smooth operation. It has a lockout so you cannot shift directly from Fifth to Reverse. When shifting up ordown, make sure you push the clutch pedal down all the way, shift to the next gear, and let the pedal upgradually. When you are not shifting,do not rest your foot on the clutch pedal. This can cause your clutch to wear out faster.Come to a full stop before you shift into Reverse. You can damage the transmission by trying to shift into Reverse with the vehicle moving.Push down the clutch pedal, and pause for a few seconds before shifting into Reverse, or shift into one of the forward gears for a moment. This stops the gears so they won't "grind."When slowing down, you can get extra braking from the engine by shifting to a lower gear. This extra braking can help you maintain a safe speed and prevent your brakes from overheating while going down a steep hill. Before downshifting, make sure engine speed will not go into the tachometer's red zone in the lower gear. Refer to the Maximum Allowable Speeds chart.Driving5-speed Manual TransmissionRecommended Shift Points Drive in the highest gear that lets the engine run and acceleratesmoothly. This will give you the best fuel economy and effective emis-sions control. The following shift points are recommended:Maximum Allowable Speeds The speeds in this table are the maximum allowable speeds in each gear. If you exceed these speeds, the engine speed will enter into thetachometer's red zone. If this occurs, you may feel the engine cut in and out. This is caused by a limiter in the engine's computer controls. The engine will run normally when you reduce the RPM below the red zone. Before downshifting, make sure the vehicle will not exceed the maximum allowable speed in the chart in the lower gear to avoid engine damage.DrivingAutomatic TransmissionYour Honda's transmission has four forward speeds, and is electronically controlled for smoother shifting. It also has a "lock-up" torque converter for better fuel economy. You may feel what seems like another shift when the converter locks.Shift Lever Position IndicatorThis indicator in the tachometer shows which position the shift lever is in. The illuminated number next to the "D 4" indicator shows you the gear you have selected in the Sequential SportShift mode. The "D 4" indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch ON (II). If it flashes while driving (in any shift position),it indicates a possible problem in the transmission. Avoid rapid acceler-ation and have the transmission checked by an authorized Honda dealer as soon as possible.DrivingAutomatic TransmissionShift Lever PositionsThe shift lever has eight positions. It must be in Park or Neutral to start the engine. When you are stopped in D 4, D 3, 2, 1, N, R, or the Sequential SportShift mode, press firmly on the brake pedal and keep your foot off the accelerator pedal. To select the Sequential SportShift mode, slide the shift lever toward the left from the "D 4" position. In this mode the shift lever allows you to shift up and down manually.Whenever you move the shift lever, slide it along the guide on the console. You cannot shift out of Park with the brake pedal depressed when the ignition switch is in LOCK (0) or ACCESSORY (I).DrivingSHIFT LEVER SEQUENTIAL SPORTSHIFT MODE POSITIONCONTINUEDAutomatic TransmissionPark (P) — This position mechani-cally locks the transmission. UsePark whenever you are turning off or starting the engine. To shift out of Park, you must press on the brake pedal and have your foot off the accelerator pedal. Move the shift lever to the right to shift out of the Park position. If you have done all of the above and still cannot move the lever out of Park, see Shift Lock Release on page 143.To avoid transmission damage, come to a complete stop before shifting into Park. The shift lever must be in Park before you can remove the key from the ignition switch.Reverse (R) — To shift to Reverse from Park, see the explanation under Park. To shift to Reverse fromNeutral, come to a complete stop and then shift.Your car has a reverse lockout so you cannot accidentally shift to Reverse from Neutral or any other driving position when the vehicle speed exceeds 7 — 9 mph (12 — 14km/h).If you cannot shift to Reverse when the car is stopped, press the brake pedal and slowly shift to Neutral then to Reverse. If there is a problem in the reverse lockout system, or your vehicle'sbattery is disconnected or goes dead, you cannot shift to Reverse. In this case, use the procedure of Shift Lock Release (see page 143).DrivingAutomatic TransmissionNeutral (N) — Use Neutral if you need to restart a stalled engine, or if it is necessary to stop briefly with the engine idling. Shift to Park posi-tion if you need to leave the vehicle for any reason. Press on the brake pe-dal when you are moving the shift lever from Neutral to another gear.Drive (D 4) — Use this position for your normal driving. The transmis-sion automatically selects a suitable gear for your speed and acceleration. You may notice the transmission shifting up at higher speeds when the engine is cold. This helps the engine warm up faster.Sequential SportShift Mode With the shift lever in "D 4" position, you can select the Sequential SportShift mode to shift gears; much like a manual transmission, but without a clutch pedal. To enter the Sequential SportShift mode, slide the shift lever further to the left. To return to "D 4", slide the shift lever to the right. In the Sequential SportShift mode, each time you push forward on the shift lever, the transmission shifts to a higher gear. Pull back on the lever to downshift. The number of the gear selected is displayed next to the "D 4" indicator (see page 136).If you slide the shift lever from "D 4"to the Sequential SportShift mode, the display shows the selected gear.If you selected "4", you will see /4/next to "D 4" in the display. The Shift Lever Position Indicator will showthe gear you selected while in the sequential sportshift mode. If you select the Sequential SportShift while the vehicle is stopped, the transmission automatically selects first gear and the display shows /1/.DrivingCONTINUEDDownshiftUpshiftAutomatic TransmissionWhen you accelerate away from a stop, the transmission will be in first gear. The transmission will not automatically upshift. Watch the tachometer and upshift manually before the engine reaches redline. The transmission remains in the selected gear (4, 3, 2, or 1). There is no automatic downshift when you push the accelerator pedal to the floor. The transmission may automatically downshift from fourth gear to thirdgear under the following conditions:The vehicle speeds drops below20 mph (32km/h).If you drive uphill between20 — 31mph(32 — 50km/h).If you press the brake pedal as you drive downhill.Downshifting gives you more power when climbing or provides engine braking when going down a steep hill. The transmission will also shiftautomatically as the vehicle comes to a complete stop. It will downshift to first gear when the vehicle speed is under 6 mph (10 km/h).If you try to manually downshift at a speed that would cause the engine to exceed the redline in a lower gear, the transmission will not downshift. If you try to downshift from fourth gear to third gear, the gear indicator will flash /3/ several times, then return to /4/; if you try to downshift from third gear to second gear, the gear indicator will flash /2/ several times, then return to third gear.DrivingAutomatic TransmissionIf the vehicle speeds slows to below the redline of the selected lower gear position while the indicator is flashing, the transmissiondownshifts and the display shows the selected lower gear.If the transmission temperature is below 14°F(— 10°C), you may not be able to use the Sequential SportShift mode. The table shows the speed ranges for upshifting and downshifting.Drive (D 3) — This position is similar t o D 4, except only the first three gears are selected. Use D 3 when towing a trailer in hilly terrain, or to provide engine braking when going down a steep hill. D 3 can also keep the transmission from cycling between third and fourth gears in stop-and-go driving. For faster acceleration when in D 3 or D 4, you can get the transmission to automatically downshift by pushing the accelerator pedal to the floor. The transmission will shift down one or two gears, depending on your speed.DrivingCONTINUED。

Claim for breach of the above warranty must be made within a period of one year from date of delivery to the user. Upon satisfactory proof of claim, we will make any necessary repairs or corrections, or at our discretion, replace defective parts at the factory, transportation charges prepaid. Charges for correcting defects will not be allowed, nor can we accept goods returned for correction unless we are notified in writing and the return or correction is authorized by us in writing. The foregoing is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including any warranties that extend beyond the description of the product. This paragraph set forth the extent of our liability for breach of any warranty in connection with the sale or use of our products. It is understood we will not be liable for consequential damages such as loss of profit, or expense, whether based on tort or contract. This warranty is void if the articles covered by the warranty have not been properly installed, maintained and used.Table Hook-UpAir-Hydraulics Inc. recommends that the air line supplying the table be at least 3/8” pipe or 3/8” i.d. hose. The maximum pressure is 110 p.s.i. Anything above this could be dangerous to the machine operator and/or other personnel.Refer to the schematic on page when plumbing controls for table hook-up. One 3/8” n.p.t. 2-position, 4-way valve controls the index cylinder and locking cylinder. Care should be taken not to restrict flow to the table. When checking the table to operation after hook-up, make sure the table is held securely (clamped or bolted). The table can shift or jump if left loose on a bench.Sequence of OperationThe sequence of operation for the indexer is as follows:1.The directional control valve is shifted by the pilot or solenoid signal. This causes the lockingcylinder to retract, unlocking the table. Note: The signal to the solenoid or pilot must bemaintained until the table top has completed its movement.2.With the locking cylinder clear of the index ring, the index cylinder retracts, moving the indexarm which then turns the table top.3.After the index cylinder is fully retracted, the directional control valve is shifted back. Thisforces the locking cylinder forward and locks the table into position. When the lockingcylinder locks the table into place, it pushes the index pawl out of the index ring.4.With the index pawl clear of the index ring, the index cylinder moves forward until it hits thestop rod. When the stop rod is adjusted properly, the index pawl is spring actuated into the next slot on the index ring and the index cycle is complete.5.The index table is now ready for the next index cycle.Note: If using a manual operation to shift the directional control valve that controls the index cylinder, make sure to hold the valve fully shifted until the table stops moving. There is a built-in cushion for the index cylinder which slows the movement of the table just before the cylinder is fully retracted. If the valve is released too soon, the locking cylinder may not be able to engage the locking ring. If the table is not locked, the table top will return to its original position.Table AdjustmentsAir-Hydraulics, Inc. index tables are built, tested and adjusted at the factory prior to shipment. After receipt of the table, you may find minor adjustments are required to meet your operational requirements. The first adjustment should be in the general speed of the table during the index. The speed control on the index cylinder is turned clockwise to decrease the indexing speed of the table. Turning the speed control counter-clockwise will increase the speed of the rotation. Care must be taken not to set the speed of the table so high that the cushion will not be able to slow the cylinder. The second adjustment is the cushion. Turning the cushion adjustment screw in the clockwise direction increases the amount of cushioning. Turning the screw counter-clockwise decreases the amount of cushioning. The cushion should be set so a visible slowing of the table top occurs just prior to stopping. Do not operate the index table with the cushion not functioning. The index table can be damaged if there is insufficient cushioning of the table top.The third adjustment is the override stop. This stop aligns the notch in the index ring with the locking cylinder plunger. If movement in the table is detected when the locking cylinder plunger engages into the index ring, loosen the large jam nut on the override stop-bolt. Make minor changes clockwise or counter-clockwise until the movement is eliminated and then re-tighten the jam nut.Adjustment of the stop-rod should not be necessary as it has been adjusted at the factory. In the event of the table being disassembled for repair or maintenance, it may become necessary to adjust the stop-rod. The stop-rod is used to adjust the point where the index pawl drops into a slot in the index ring and is ready to index the table top. If the stop-rod is inadvertently moved, use the following procedure to readjust the stop-rod. Remove connections for the power source from the index table; loosen the jam nut on the stop-rod until there is approximately 1-1/2” of threads showing. Make sure the table is in position to be locked and then apply power to the back of the locking cylinder. With the signal maintained to the locking cylinder, pressurize the back of the index cylinder and slowly turn the stop-rod in a clockwise direction until the pawl drops into a slot in the ring. If the table is locked up, the stop-rod will not be able to be turned when the pawl drops in the slot. Turn the stop-rod in a counter-clockwise direction ¼ to ½ turns and tighten the jam nut. The index cylinder stroke should be correct, allowing the pawl to drop into a slot every cycle.MaintenanceIn order to extend the life of the table and achieve maximum efficiency, it is recommended that all seals and gaskets be changed on a yearly basis. When changing seals and gaskets, we also recommend that the index pawl and pawl return spring be changed at the same time. After repeated index cycles, the effectiveness of the pawl return spring is lessened.A regular lubrication schedule is recommended to maintain accuracy and reliability in the index table. Grease fittings are supplied and should be greased (1-2 pumps) with a good quality lithium grease on a weekly basis to start. Take care not to over lubricate the table. Excess grease will accumulate inside of the table and will cause internal parts to move slower due to increased friction. It is recommended that at least one complete seal kit be stocked to repair your table. Seals and gaskets are sold in complete sets only.If any problems are encountered with your table, feel free to call Air-Hydraulics, Inc., Jackson, Michigan, and someone in our service department will be glad to assist. If a comprehensive maintenance program suited for your application is desired, we can also help set up a program.Instructions for Mounting Tooling to Air-Hydraulics Inc. Indexer1.Mount table to the machine where the drilling, tapping, reaming, etc. is to be done. If the sub-plate has already been installed by the factory, remove it from the index table.2.Connect the power source to the table with the proper valving according to the schematic andinstructions provided.3.Index the table to insure proper operation. The table must be in the locked position beforemachining.4.Indicate sub-plate mounting holes from the center hole through the table spindle (.750” dia.) orthe center hole in the table top (2.12:” dia.). Locate the bolt and dowel pin holes from thedrawing provided by Air-Hydraulics, Inc.Caution:Holes in the table top must not break through to the table base. A maximum depth of 7/16” is recommended. Use a bottom tap for the 3/8-16 UNC tapped holes.5.The sub-plate should have a .750” diameter bored hole in the center of its bottom surface. Thishole coincides with the center hole of the table spindle. With this hole as an indicating center, the mounting holes in the sub-plate can be drilled to match those in the table top.6.Install the sub-plate on the table.7.Perform the work required to install tooling, tooling nests, clamps, etc. on the sub-plate at theposition required.8.Index the table and repeat step (7) until all tooling holes are installed.9.After all holes are drilled, tapped, reamed, etc. install the tooling next.10.Remove the table from the drilling machine and position the table on the machine where it is tobe used. With the table in the locked position, locate it in the desired location for machineoperation. Attach the table to the bolster plate of the machine.Note: Air-Hydraulics, Inc. recommends that the table and fixtures be doweled in place to insure repeatability.1092 Index Table Parts ListNote: When ordering replacement parts for this table, specify Model of 1092 and Serial Number. Air-hydraulics cannot be held responsible for parts shipped in error if the model and serial number are not supplied.1092 Index Table Parts List Continued♦ All O-rings and gaskets and seals are sold collectively as a kit. The part number is: T1092-CS.* “##” equals the number of stations or index positions. For example, if fo ur stations, then the part number would be T1088-03-04STA for the station ring and T1088-26-04STA for the index table stop-bolt.Model 1092 DimensionsModel 1092 Dimensions Continued10。

INTRODUCTIONRoboColumns are miniaturized chromatography columnspre-packed with TOYOPEARL biopurification chromatog-raphy resins covering a wide range of chromatographicmodes, such as ion exchange (I EX), hydrophobic interac-tion chromatography (H I C), multimodal chromatography(MMC), gel filtration (SEC) and affinity chromatography(AFC). Bed containment between two filter frits and pro-fessional packing with consideration to individual materialcompression requirements ensure high efficiency and peaksymmetry similar to that of preparative and process separa-tion columns.RoboColumns are compatible with 96-well formats and de-signed for fully automated chromatographic separation withrobotic liquid handling workstations such as the FreedomEVO® from Tecan. The column units are packed with TOYO-PEARL® media by Repligen GmbH and are identical to theMediaScout® RoboColumns® supplied by Repligen GmbH.One package contains eight pre-packed RoboColumn unitswith two removable silicon cover seals for proper storage. A96-well array plate is available to arrange up to 96 RoboCol-umn units according to application requirements.APPLICATIONSRoboColumn technology is used in a broad spectrumof applications, such as parallel screening of chromato-graphic media and optimization of chromatographicconditions, scale-down experiments, sample prepara-tion prior to subsequent analysis like MS, ELI SA or CGE/SDS-Page as well as for the concentration of low titercompounds. It can also be applied for high throughput smallscale purifications of a high number of samples.FORMATSRoboColumns are available in two formats with 200 µL and600 µL resin volume, respectively. All chromatographicmedia used in the RoboColumns are also available as bulkresins for use at all scales.2. CHARACTERISTICSRoboColumns are ready-to-use chromatography columnspre-packed with TOYOPEARL chromatography media.RoboColumns are available in 200 µL and 600 µL volume.Table 1 presents the column geometries and characteristicsof RoboColumns.RoboColumn ChracteristicsColumn volume 200 µL 600 µLBed height 10.0 mm 30.0 mmColumn inner diameter 5 mmColumn material PolypropyleneChemical stability All commonly used aqueous buffers, pH 1 – 14, organic solvents1Avoid Halogenated organic solventsHexaneStorage solution AIEX and CIEX: 20% ethanol + 150 mmol/L NaClHIC, SEC, AFC and MMC: 20 % ethanolRecommended storage IEX, HIC & MMC Media: +4°C to +30°Ctemperature AFC Media: +4°C to +8°CWorking temperature +4°C to +30°CMax. working pressure Up to 8.0 barFlow velocity 16 – 1000 cm/h1 Note: The chemical stability of the packed chromatography media also has to be taken into consideration. For more information please refer to the specification of the respective TOYOPEARL resin at www.tosohbioscience.de.TABLE 13R o b o C o l u m nsRoboColumn Instruction ManualEQUIPMENT DETAILSADVICE96-WELL ARRAY PLATE(Courtesy of Repligen GmbH)Arrange up to 96 individual Robo- Columns onto the 96- well array plateaccording to application requirements.Do not mix short (200 µL) and long (600 µL) RoboColumns.Make sure that RoboColumns are well clicked into the 96- well array plate be-fore using them.Te-Chrom™ MODULE 1)(Courtesy of Tecan)Use the Te-Chrom module (A) to integrate the RoboColumn array onto the robotic worktable. The Te-Chrom Module is height adjustable and con-tains a waste option (B)Use the Te-Chrom module in combination with the plate stacker Te-Stack™ for the optimized handling and storage of collection plates.Use the waste container to drain off e.g. conditioning or regeneration solvents.Make sure that the array is in an appro-priate distance to the collection plate before starting the experiment.Te-Chrom SHUTTLE(Courtesy of Tecan)Use the Te-Chrom Shuttle to move a collection plate under the array to collect the fractions.Use the robotic manipulator (RoMa) arm to transport the collection plate from a pre-defined transfer position to any destination on the robotic worktable (e.g. plate reader, hotels or auto sampler) for further analysis such as UV measure-ment, ELISA, HPLC, MS, etc.3. HANDLING AND OPERATION A) EQUIPMENTRoboColumns are designed for robotic handling Table 2 is a guide for the equipment required for robotic handling of RoboColumns using Tecan’s Freedom EVO workstation. B.) SAMPLE PREPARATIONWe recommend loading a clarified sample on RoboColumns, since unclarified sample may cause clogging of the top and bottom filter frits.TABLE 2RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT FOR AUTOMATED HANDLING OF RoboColumnsWWW.TOSOHBIOSCIENCE.DE 4RoboColumnsTe-Chrom WIZARD2)(Courtesy of Tecan)Use the Te-Chrom Wizard to configurethe chromatographic process and toset all process relevant parameters, such as volume, flow rate, etc.Assign labels (e.g. resin name andcolumn types by using the plate layoutconfigurator.Use the neutralization option to adjustthe pH of fractions after acidic elution ofmAbs.Note: Confirm suitability for your specificapplication with Tecan.PLATE READER Use an internal or external plate readerfor data collection.Determine the precise volume of yourfractions for subsequent data plotting.REAGENT AND SAMPLE RESERVOIRS A broad spectrum of troughs, tubesand plates can be positioned onto therobotic worktable by using the appro-priate Tecan carrier.Use an 8-, 48- or 96- deep well reservoirfor buffer solution/preparation.COLLECTION PLATE Use any type of multi-well plate whichmatches the ANSI/SDS standard (UV-or non UV-readable).Use a 96-well half area micro-plate tocollect fractions in a range from 25 µL to175 µL.Use standard 96-well micro-plates tocollect fractions in a range from 75 µL to340 µL. EXPERIMENTAL SETUPRoboColumns are suitable for a broad variety of applications such as parallel screening and optimization of chromato-graphic conditions in downstream process development, sample preparation prior to subsequent analysis as well as the concentration of low titer compounds in drug discovery. When using the high-throughput process development approach for RoboColumns, it is suggested to use Design of Experiments (DoE) for the experimental setup. This enables screening of many different chromatographic parameters, such as resin type, pH, conductivity/ionic strength or salt type simultaneously. For experimental set-up and configuration of the Robo- Column array plate, the Te-Chrom Wizard is recommended.D. Te-Chrom WIZARDThe Te-Chrom Wizard is a dialog-based graphic user inter-face offered by Tecan and based on the Freedom EVOware ® software. The Te-Chrom Wizard was developed for the use of RoboColumns and provides the possibility to configure hardware, plate layout, and the chromatographic process and to set some chromatographic parameters, such as flow-rate or volume without direct script writing. See the illustra-tion below for an overview of some of the Te-Chrom Wizard functions. RoboColumn Instruction ManualWWW.TOSOHBIOSCIENCE.DE 6RoboColumns4. This kit may also contain universal part assortments, resulting in throw away or an excess in the number of parts that are actually required for servicing any one carburetor. In the case of duplicate gaskets or parts, compare with old pieces. When reassembling the carburetor, use the adjustment specification list to make the necessary adjustments for the list number of your carburetor.Throughout this instruction sheet, there will be WARNINGS and NOTES. Please read these, as they contain valuable information that can save you time and money. It is our intent to provide the best possible products for our customers: products that perform properly and satisfy your expectations. Should you need information of parts assistance, please contact our technical service department at 1-270-781-9741, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central time. Please have the part number of the product you purchased when you call.LOCATING THE LIST NUMBER:Figure 1 Figure 2The List number for a Model 2010, 2300, 4010, 4011, 4150, 4160, 4165, or 4175 carburetor can be found on the right side of choke air horn. The List number for the 4500 can be found on the top of the main body casting. Below the list number is a date code that will contain no more than four (4) digits. See Figures below.Figure 3 Figure 42Figure 5DISASSEMBLY:Rest the carburetor on a repair stand to avoid damage to the throttle plates during renewal procedures. Use the exploded view, for the model of carburetor you have, as a guide and follow the numerical sequence in general to disassemble unit far enough to permit cleaning and inspection. DO NOT remove throttle plates or shaft. Idle limiter: turn the idle limiter cap to its leanest (clockwise) position and remove cap. Observe and Record the initial position of the needle slot. Turn the idle needles clockwise, until lightly seated, recording the number of turns required to seat the needles. This procedure is necessary to reinstall the idle needles after renewing the carburetor.WARNING! Use care not to damage the idle adjusting needles when removing idle limiter caps.CLEANING AND CARE:Cleaning must be done with carburetor disassembled. Soak parts long enough to soften and remove all foreign material. Use a carburetor solvent, lacquer thinner or denatured alcohol. Make certain the throttle body is free of all hard carbon deposits. Wash off in suitable solvent. Blow all passages in castings with compress air and check carefully to insure thorough cleaning of obscure areas.WARNING! DO NOT soak parts containing rubber or plastic material. Serious damage could result.WARNING! Fuel bowls, should only be exposed to carburetor cleaner long enough to permit removal of gum and varnish deposits with a brush. Some fuel bowls have internal “O” Ring seals, which are not removable, but can be damaged by prolongedexposure to some carburetor cleaning solvents.REASSEMBLY:Reassemble in reverse order of disassembly. Note the special instructions and follow the calibration numbers in the SPECIFICATIONS manual in making final adjustments.Manually operate the throttle lever and choke mechanism, checking for binding or malfunction. Any binding or interference could cause throttle to stick during operation and result in loss of carburetor throttle control (or uncontrolled engine speed).WARNING! Check carburetor to be sure there are no leaks or flooding, which might cause a fire.SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL CARBURETORS:IDLE ADJUSTING NEEDLES - Tapered portion of needle must be straight and smooth. If grooved or ridged, a new needle would be install.PUMP INLET CHECK VALVE - Lubricate tip of new valve and insert in center hole in pump cavity. Pull through from fuel bowl side, untilseated.CHOKE PLATE SCREW - Choke plate screws are staked to prevent loosening. To avoid breaking or stripping the threads in the choke shaft, lightly file off the staking. Choke plate screws should be restaked after tightening to prevent loosening.THROTTLE BODY - DO NOT remove throttle shafts or plates.
