三、阅读理解
18. One of the first signs visitors find at most museums is “Please do not touch the exhibits”. However
at the new Hoy tocael Prado exhibition at Madrid’s Museo Nacional Del Prado, the officials don’t just encourage the habit, they insist upon it. That’s because this art display has been specially created to enable blind visitors to experience the joy of the works of some of the world’s most famous artists just like able-bodied people can.
The 3-D masterpiece is the idea of Estudios Durero, a kind of art. The creators began by taking high resolution(高清的) images of the original works. They then used a special ink to add different 3-D materials to the paintings. This allows blind visitors to feel features like hair, skin, cloaks, etc. so that they can create a visual image of what the art looks like in their minds.
The Museo Nacional Del Prado is the world’s first major museum to create one with versio ns of their most famous work of arts. As to why it has taken so long for it to come up with this bright idea, Fernando
Pérez, the museum’s keeper says it is not because of lack of interest, but a lack of resources. Pérez explains, “There are now new techno logies to provide answers that were earlier not possible, such as the paints in 3-D, and apps.” Now that they have it all figured out, people plan to continue offering similar exhibitions in the future.
As one blind visitor said, “For us the sense of sight is the sense of touch. My view is to touch, and usually I can’t see the paintings others see in a museum—someone would have to explain them to me. But in this exhibit, I have the chance to see it with my hands.”
32. Why can the paintings in Hoy tocael Prado be touched?
A. They are all made of unique materials.
B. They are created by the famous artists.
C. They are specially designed for the blind.
D. They are displayed in a special way.
33.The second paragraph is mainly about______.
A. why the museum displayed its masterpieces
B. how the 3-D masterpieces were created
C. who are the creators of these 3-D masterpieces
D. why the blind visitors are allowed to touch the 3-D masterpieces
34.Why did it take the museum so long to come up with this concept?
A. Technology set a limit to the museum.
B. The museum has no interest in it.
C. The painters don’t allow using their works.
D. There is a lack of stuff in the museum.
35. The last paragraph implies that______.
A. paintings should be explained in the museum
B. the blind depend on touch to live
C. the blind like to touch the exhibits
D. the exhibition has been a huge success

19. Language learning apps are very popular now and offer opportunities to learn vocabulary and practice grammar. But there has been a discussion about just how effective such apps can be.
Among the most popular apps are Duolingo and Busuu. A previous research found positive results on the use of them. But it mainly concentrates on studies with learners who had signed up for language courses and these apps worked as an after-class support, so the results were not always reliable. A recent study of 4,095 Busuu users has been carried out to find out if users can actually learn a language with an app.
Busuu provides learning materials for 12 different languages. It offers special models where some contents are available for free while some contents are not, We find that its users are an even mix of men and women. More than half consider themselves to be at the beginner level as there is a decrease in users as their language levels go up. Most people use the app because of personal interest, or because they want to study or live abroad. Females tend to use it less often but for longer periods of time than male users.
Getting any feedback on Busuu depends on whether your answer is correct or not. While it is helpful, this is not the sort of feedback language teachers prefer, as it does not explain why the answer is right or wrong. In spite of this, feedback in the app is very highly rated.
More than 92% of the people state that the app has met their expectations and 86% consider the app as very good or good. In fact, more than 80% of the users surveyed strongly agree that using the app has helped them improve their knowledge of the language they are learning.
Besides, language learning apps also create an environment where mistakes are only known to the users, and this can address the performance anxiety that many learners suffer from when asked to speak a foreign language. So language teachers should encourage their students to use them to do the grammar work, leaving precious class time for more language communication.
28. Why weren’t the results of the former research always dependable?
A. Because it used out-of-date methods.
B. Because it just focused on positive results.
C. Because it was only carried out before class.
D. Because it only considered users of a limited type.
29. What can we learn about the app Busuu from the text?
A. All the contents are free to use.
B. It’s used by more advanced learners.
C. Most users consider it satisfying.
D. It’s more popular with female learners.
30. Which of the following can probably replace the underlined word address?
A. Deal with.
B. Write down.
C. Turn to.
D. Speak of.
31. What is the main idea of the text?
A. Students won’t suffer anxiety in learning languages by using Busuu.
B. Language learning apps are effective and satisfactory to language learners.
C. Language learning apps are very popular with most language teachers.
D. Students should be required to use apps for homework after class.
