A Story(Narrate an experience that impressed you most in your life. It might be something that happened to you or to the others. Your composition should include the following points: when and where the story took place; what happened)
The college entrance examination had hardly come to an end, when the majority of my classmates celebrated their liberation, except me. With a little depression, I flew to Chengdu and prepared for the independent recruitment of students test of the Southwest University of Finance and Economy the next day after June 8th.
As for students who major in mathematics competition in one of the three years, you cannot imagine the importance of the independent recruitment in their minds. Fortunately but unfortunately, I was one of members of them.
Then came June 13rd when I would join in the written exam and an interview one by one. Because of passing the written exam smoothly, I acquired interview qualification.
Faced with two interviewers and a huge sense of panic, our group of six students must finish three tasks in limited time. First, every one of us was appointed to be the minister of human resources and was asked to commence salary for A, B, C, D, E and F who had advantages and disadvantages at the same time. Second, we had a discussion in which our opinions should reach an agreement. Finally, a speech named "salary" would be prepared and presented in turn.
I cannot pass the interview at last, or I will not go to the Zhengzhou University and write this article. Surely, success will give us a lot, but in my view, failure gives us more. Not only did the interview make me more confident, calm and flexible in some way, but it did be a true experience where I learnt how to grow up and how to be a real man--
Life is a journey, most of which is full of blocks and difficulties. What we can choose is how to face and gain from them.

It Pays to Have a Good Name (Please write a three or four-paragraph essay with the help of the three passages.)
When Shakespeare said" that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet", he meant" anyone can not be easily changed by his or her
name. "But, if that is really true, why do so many Chinese people add fire otherwise water in their children's names?
Maybe they not only hope their children can make up for their disadvantages, but also hope their name will be the motivation which always pushes them to improve themselves. However, we say "hope" " maybe" and" will be", which means uncertainty. As far as I am concerned, the uncertainty exists in one's attitude in which he looks on himself. For instance, if one cares much about his name, his success or failure will be influenced by his name. But if he cares little, whatever will
be, will be. So, in my opinion, whether a name will influence a man or not depends on one's attitude.
But attitude isn't inherent but a kind of quality which is based on various factors, including one's name. Do you remember the first day when you come to class, how do you remember your first classmate?
No matter what you say, but, for most people, me included, I think it's one' s special name that makes me keep him in my mind forever. As for the one who is remembered at first, he will integrate into the collectivity as soon as possible, which surely influences a man's character. What's more, many people will be self-abased when hearing their vulgar names, especially in public. Another will be under much pressure when hearing their superior names. And there will also be someone who can make it, owing to his stimulative name. For example, my classmate named ChaoYue was always encouraged by his name like that "you can do it as your
name!"Every time he joined in an activity, the slogan would motivate him to go beyond himself.
So maybe you still say you're determined, and you can never be influenced by an external form. But name exists in everywhere, which has got it to go deep into our internal thoughts and direct our life. Therefore, it pays to have a good name. Three
Why a Happy Childhood Is Important to People(I think childhood is to everyone a lost land. Explain this quotation first and then make an analysis on it with examples.) It is universally acknowledged that the time which has flown won't come back forever. It is the same with the childhood. In our minds, it's possible that we can recall something memorable that impressed us effectively in the course of our childhood, but what can't be recalled any more is the true feeling when we are impoverished in reasons.
To name merely a few, I hold the view that I was kind of imaginative when I was a little girl. At that time, the Seven Fairies Full of Joy was consequently pervasive that everyone, whether old otherwise young, stared at the screens, even just in order to wait for an advertisement about it, me included.
I remembered that there were also another three girls who didn't go back home at lunch time. And we got rid of the siesta lest we could touch our imagination in forms of our own show which we named "Ice and Fire" .
A girl dressed up as ice, and another made up as fire, which represented the embodiment of ice and fire in nature. What's more, they both had a pet who had magic they didn't get and that was sent by God to do them a favor to fetch their Numen.
Every noon, you could see four girls carrying many desks and chairs, running round from floor one to four four. Sometimes, you even could hear they screamed, "fight with the powerful enemies!" Subsequently you looked around, and whispered
to yourself" where are the powerful enemies? "They hid in nowhere but everywhere exactly in their hearts!
Until today, when I recall the exciting scene I remained for myself, I can't help laughing loudly. How bored I was at that time just as a mentally disabled kid!
Maybe from a growing-up perspective, I have started to pour attention into other's feelings and other's views on me. Nevertheless as I was a little girl, I just did what I wanted to do directed by my hearts. And it was from succeeding on that my personality got to shape. Many times over, I have tried to be a strong man who can get over all difficulties like Ice and Fire. At present, I never easily give in to anyone otherwise anything without hesitation.
As you can see, it isn't the genuine material but the impressive memory that really matters. And what is more important exists in that we gain our unique character forever.

Cultural Globalization(On Cultural Globalization—search online for information of cultural globalization and write a composition to answer the following questions: 1. what is cultural globalization? 2. the advantages and disadvantages of cultural globalization? 3. your opinions.)
In the academic area, there are two points which have been acknowledged by the public about cultural globalization. One points out that cultural globalization is an erroneous concept, which means there is not cultural globalization at all. Another points out that cultural globalization universally exists in our present society. But in my view, as the cultural globalization is a process that all kinds of cultures blend into each other at the same time, cultural globalization cannot be defined as a
state. Consequently, cultural globalization is a course in which all the countries' culture enters other countries'.
From a point of view, cultural globalization brings in exotic items not barely spiritually but also materially. Obviously, foreign thoughts are therefore advanced that we can express our emotions more smoothly. To name barely a few, it is the entering of Valentine's Day that prompts Chinese have a deeper understanding of romance. And it is also the Thanksgiving Day that gives everyone the courage and chance to gratitude those who has done us a favor. But from the other point of view, cultural globalization is a kind of cultural invasion. Now that a country's culture depends on its economy, and every country has the privilege to maintain its own interests, the appearance of cultural globalization possesses legitimate triggers, the most important one of which is to promote the country's position in the
world. Therefore from this perspective, any reasonable excuse for cultural globalization is not reasonable at all. At least, in the aspect of a country's interests, there is not a country that can put the public interests ahead of its own interests.
As far as I am concerned, it's the right time that we have resisted in the adventitious culture in some way. On the one hand, we're supposed to get a lesson
from the seclusion of our country in Qing dynasty. Since the contemporary world provides a developmental opportunity for us, it's our duty to catch and take advantage of the world situation. But currently, mounting number of adolescents excessively accept thoughts and styles from western countries lest exotic culture extends as far as all over our country even replace our traditional culture. To name merely a few, teenagers are prone to know more about Valentine's Day instead of the Chinese festival. In a word, as one of the hosts of a developing country, at the same time that our country enters the entire world, we also require safeguarding our traditional culture.

Be a perfect individualist(Individualism or Collectivism—Search online for more information of individualism and collectivism and take a stand on one of them, then support your stand with supporting details and draw a conclusion at last.) From the appearance of humankind being, everyone lives in a collectivistic society although he otherwise she is likely to be a behalf of individualists. Just think about that it's through the Upper Cave Man's joint efforts that a mounting number of tools are created, and the development of humanity being becomes faster and faster. Accordingly this time, you are likely to define the collectivity as the waves which promote our society to a higher level.
But when we stand on the realism of the the development of humanity being, can you imagine a tribe in which everyone does what they have to do by themselves but there are no one who can stand out and unify all the notions?
Of course not. Therefore, when society develops to a certain stage, there should be a man standing out to lead the entire collectivity and make all the thoughts converge to a point. Subsequently comes out the individualism. And in the process cooperation in collectivity, there will be a mounting number of individuals who recognise the low efficiency when working with others, and they are prone to do what they like best otherwise what makes them get the biggest interests. And from thereafter on, individualism which becomes the other shape of the lifestyle formally gets rid of the collectivism.
When we're in the kindergarten, instructors always teach us not to fall behind from other kids. And when we become a true man, we're always asked to take questions in to account on others' sides otherwise from other parts. But do you remember the Great Leap Forward period when everyone set a flag saying collectivism in their hearts but no one has the positivity to do all the labour for the collectivity?
So as you can see, the long-term collectivism always leads the participants to think of why they do so much work for a collectivity and what the meanings are for themselves, which suggests the unescapable consequence of collectivism is the appearance of individualism.
From the other aspect, when it comes to the question raised by Qian Xuesen, most specialists will easily come to the education area. But have you tried giving the solution from individualism and collectivism?
There is no denying that the individualists have the greater possibility to succeed as they have the independent time to arrange their own schedule, consequently there are more scientists in the USA than in China, as China has a long history of collectivism.
Many Chinese individuals set a clear boundary between individualism and collectivism, which means that in their minds individualists won't contribute for the collectivity. But in the beginning, individualists do everything for themselves, such as individual honor which represents the superior ability one may have. Nevertheless, the honor which he has received hooks on to the collectivity otherwise will serve for the collectivity sooner otherwise later. Let's look at the extreme example in the following. An independent researcher made an achievement which seemed to belong to himself, but the accepting of the achievement needed the extensive participation of the public. And on condition that the achievement was acknowledged by the society, it would be a universal regulation which can be used by later generations. Isn't that a kind of contribution to our society?
Until succeeding, he wasn't a typical behalf of individualists but of collectivists. Therefore when you want to make contributions for collectivity instead of being considered selfish, you're supposed to make yourself a perfect individualist and go out of your way to be the hero in your own heart, subsequently one day when you blend in a collectivity, you'll be a successful collectivist naturally.

Whether Should Western Festivals Be Celebrated in China? (Read reading 2 in Unit 8 and listen to Culture Integration and write a composition to illustrate your opinion.) As Christmas is approaching, we can see a variety of decorations including Christmas trees wherever we go, especially in the large supermarket, which seemingly represents popularity and a kind of fashion. It emerges to be an optimal chance to escape from pressure when we face up to an ocean of unfinished work every second. Nevertheless, don't you know that it's your own relaxation that results in cultural invasion?
But should anything in western festivals be blocked out of our door?
In my view, as a developing country, it's high time that we seized the challenge to attract the excellent elements bringing more advantages instead of disadvantages. To name merely a few, when it comes to Valentine's Day, we are likely to think of romance and happiness which we can also experience in our daily life. What I mean is that the significance to celebrate Valentine's Day is too little to talk about, and it's better to oppose to it rather than do nothing. Nevertheless, like Mother's Day, we've regarded it as our duty to respect our mother, which has been
acknowledged as a kind of social virtue. As the world becomes smaller and smaller, Mother's Day must be prevalent to all over the world some day.
Mother's Day does require being celebrated, and so do our traditional native festivals. We can enjoy the joy and lessons brought by western festivals, from which we never struggle to blend into a culture. Many youngsters may also not experience the tradition involved in Chinese festivals, which exactly shows the perniciousness of cultural invasion. We can accept the western festivals but merely the excellent parts; and we can accept the excellent parts but merely in the precondition of primarily celebrating our traditional native festivals.
All in all, the western festivals can be celebrated when limited in certain preconditions.。
