It is almost more difficult to choose one now than it used to be, because we have so much more choice than our grandparents had. They make lovely carpets these days, but I have never seen so many designs, or so many colours. A carpet seller has an immense stock of carpets, and he may have two or three ofeach design.I went to buy a carpet three days ago, when I arrived in the city. I had no idea which carpet to choose, so I decided not to buy any. The temptation, however, was too great. I began to look at one or two and ended up by buying a carpet which I saw by chance as I was going out. The carpet seller described the carpet as 'a pretty little Persian' when infact it was not a Persian at all. It was one that had beenmade in a factory an hour's drive away. The carpet seller would have called any carpet 'a pretty little Persian', but I was not deceived. I did not care what it was called; I was simply attracted by its design and colour. Nevertheless, the carpet seller had a habit of making everyone feel he had got something really special. On the way out, he put his hand on my shoulder and said, 'You've made a good choice, Sir!' I was still wondering whether I had, when I got it back to the hotel. As I was admiring it in my room, a friend of mine came in and admired it too. He asked me how much I had paid for it and I told him the price. 'I am the carpet seller in the city,' he said, laughing, 'but when I sell a carpet, I never tell people the price I paid for it!'【课文讲解】1. 《典范英语》(1a-L20)教学参考Goal!教学参考的目的在于为实验课提供一个基本的思路和框架,帮助实验教师更好地把握课题理念。
课题组鼓励实验教师结合学生的实际情况适当做出调整,将实验课上出特色。
一、教学目标1. 语言能力目标:学生能够理解故事情节;听懂故事录音;惟妙惟肖地模仿录音;绘声绘色地独立朗读故事;认读cold, wet, tired, miserable, cross, goal等单词;运用“… got …”描述人物的状态或结果;初步掌握字母“c”的拼读规律。
2. 非语言能力目标:让学生学习Dad热爱运动,坚持不懈的特点;通过让学生观察故事人物在不同情境下的表情和动作,锻炼学生的观察力和想象力;培养学生敢读、敢表达的自信和勇气。
二、课时安排要求每周不少于两课时,每课时至少完成一个故事。

(2)教师简单概括视频内容:In the video, Jonny wanted the rain to go away, because he didn’t like playing football in the rain.(3)教师提出问题,与学生互动:Do you like the rain?Do you like playing football in the rain?之后,进入故事情境:One day, Dad went to play football. Mum and the children watched. Did Dad play football in the rain? 1.通过操练使学生更为熟练地运用本单元所学过的单词、习惯用语、句型、语法与交际用语。
2.能认读以下单词和习惯用语:

(2)lucky money, Water Festival, at the end of, at the beginning of 3.正确理解与课文内容程度深浅相当的短文。
4.了解不同国家的不同节日及风俗习惯。
(二)思想情感目标:
通过不同国家不同风俗习惯的学习,使学生了解语言文化的差异,扩大
学生的视野。
(三)能力发展目标:
通过操练提高学生综合运用语言知识和语言技能的能力。

1.专有名词的首字母要大写。
2.介词on/in/at 的用法。

Step1 Revision:
(1)Greet the Ss.
(2)Ask some Ss questions::
When is your birthday?
When in… is it?
What day is that in this year?
Step2 Listening:
(1) Look at the table, ask the Ss to read the names of the countries aloud.
(2) Play the tape of Part 2. Have the Ss listen to the tape and write down the
dates.
(3) Play the tape again, and check their answers.
Step3 Pre-reading preparation:
(1) Go over the names of Chinese Festivals, and read the date of these Festivals.
(2)Talk about something Spring Festival and Water Festival.
(3) Teach the new words:
Step 4 While- Reading:
(1) Books open. Have the Ss read the passage in Part 1 of Lesson 20 in silence
in three minutes and write down their answers to the questions below the passage.
(2) Check the answers.
(3)Read the text.
Step 5 Post-reading
(1) Ask Ss why they think cleaning the house and throwing water over
everybody is important at New Year.
(2) Which is your favourite festival ?
Step 6 Rhyme
Learn a rhyme.
Step 7 Tasks
(1) Answer questions as quickly as everyone can .
(2) Work in groups, Write five more questions about months and days in the
year.
(3) Ask and answer group by group.

(1) Make a list of the festivals you have in China, then choose a festival and
