Starter Unit 2 What’s this in English?一、教材分析本单元的核心教学内容是“认物”。
用英语确认周围的常见事物比较符合英语初学者的实际情况。
通过本单元教学，使学生运用所学句型，去熟悉周围事物的名称；教学生学会在实际生活中如何确认事物。
通过辨认物体，学生学到一些生词，并巩固所学句型。
二、教学设计思路Starter Unit 2是Go for it! 三个预备单元中的第二个单元。
预备篇是为了使没有英语学习基础的学生更好地使用本套教材而编写的。
我们可以用手势，表情，动作等示意，帮助学生听懂课堂教学内容，但在实际操作中应尽量避免“明知故问”的倾向，应该采用应用性原则；如：遮盖物品、显露局部、图形辨认等方法。
三、教学重点1. 学习Ii --- Rr十个字母及其书写。
2. 学习身边的物品名称：map, ruler, cup, pen, orange, jacket, key, quilt3. 学习辨认物品的用语：--What’s this in English?--It’s …4. 学习拼写单词的相关句型:-- Spell it, please. / How do you spell it?/ Can you spell it?-- K-E-Y, key.5. 字母i, o在开音节和闭音节中的读音规则。
6. 学习a / an的初步用法: a key; an orange7. 学习代词this，that和it的用法四、教学难点教材中部分物品名称的学习和大、小写字母的学习及书写。

2．让学生完成活动4a,教师核对答案。
3．教师让学生完成活动4b,然后让学生大声朗读方框中的单词。
4．教师播放活动4c的录音,学生整体感知字母A、E、I和O在不同单词中的发音。
5．教师再次播放录音,学生跟读,教师四处走动,及时帮助发音有困难的学生。
6．学生分小组合作,总结字母A、E、I和O在不同单词中不同的发音规律。
教师及时提供帮助。
7．教师复习字母A和E的发音规则,并讲解字母I和O的发音规则。
