本单元是贴近学生的日常生活实际的教室这个话题,通过对重点单词:chair, desk, floor, board,
lights, door, window, curtains及介词in , on, under, behind, in front of 及重点句型There is a (pen) under/on … (the chair)There are … under/on… (the chair)
的整体把握,用8个课时的学
习能掌握这个单元的12个部分相关贴拼图、选择、看图填词及介词,涂色、理解故事,读

Unit 1第一课时(介词in, on 及There be 句型)
一、教学内容与分析
1. Part 5 (介词in, on) 本部分主要通过TPR,让学生能够在真实情景中运用这两个介词,并
能快速书写记忆,通过与其它物品的位置关系引出介词短语。

2.There be句型的学习。

本部分的通过已学得文具来引出句型,提供让学生自己根据实际运
用语言的机会。

此外,教师还可以根据实际情况多设计一些游戏活动和任务型活动。

一、教学内容与分析
1. Part 5 (介词under, behind, in front of) 本部分主要通过TPR,通过已学过的in, on引出其它
介词短语。

让学生能够在真实情景中运用这三个介词,重点是behind, in front of这两个稍难
的,并尽可能记忆。

2. There be句型的巩固操练。

本部分的通过在第一节课已学There be句型的基础上不管要能
运用There be, 还要用上才学过的新介词短语。

教师可以根据实际情况多师生、生生间操练、
巩固运用。

1. Part 1 and Part
2. (Page 11) 这两部分其实是前面三年级所学的单词desk,chair,window,board, door及句型:How many…?的巩固运用,但由于时间间隔较长,所
以还是用肢体语言来做指认的单词游戏来复习教室物品并使用交际法来根据实际运用How many….和What colour is/are…句型,在扫除障碍前提下,学生们会乐于完成剪贴拼图并粘
贴,看图进行生生问答,最后选择正确答案。

C. 方法与过程:Complete the activity by craft.

1. Part 3 and Part 4. (Page 12)本课是节单词课教学,用直观教学卡片让学生感知单词,通过各种游戏活动更进一步在真实环境中运用单词及以前所学句型,让学生看着教师的物品来运用
学习是一种不错的方法,学生印象深刻。

总体来说,本单元的教学内容与以前所学有一定的联系,因此在教学中应注重以下几点:
1.注重与三年级老师和教学内容的衔接,让学生尽快熟悉课堂程序,每项活动目的明确,,
让学生明了课程构成。

2.将词汇分为两类,一类需要重点掌握,二类注重理解和口语运用即可。

3.注重词汇、短语、语法、技能训练的平衡。

4.将简单内容列为自学或作业,小组完成,教师检验为主。

5.备课的精心设计,尽量多的教具、方式帮助学生提高学习效率。

6.重视单元复习,整理重难点发给学生,设计有趣的单元练习,让学生保持兴趣。

7.重视作业的批改,随时帮助学生克服障碍。

2. Let’s sing an English song.
二、Presentation
1. The teacher takes out a box and a toy dog.
2. A game: To find the dog.
The teacher puts the dog on the box, and asks: Where is the dog?
S1: On the box.
T: Good. On the box.
(1) All of the students learn to say the new word: on.
(2) The pupils learn to write the word on their exercise books.
(3) The pupils learn to spell and remember it immediately.
(4) The teacher asks again: Where is the dog?
The teacher answers by himself: There is a dog on the box.
The pupils learn to say the new sentence.
The pupils learn to apply the sentence for their real life.
For example: There is an eraser on my desk.
There is a schoolbag on my chair.
There is a pen on the floor.
There is a ruler on my English book.
The teacher takes out two or three books on the desk and tell the pupils:
There are three books on the desk.
By the same method, the pupils learn to say the new word: in and the new sentence: There is a … 
in … . / There are ….in … .

一、Warm-up
The teacher draw the picture, say the sentence: There is a bird in the tree. There are three dogs
on the grass.
二、Presentation
1. Put the dog under the box. T: Where is the dog? Listen, under the box, under. Read together:
under (升降调读). Then read one by one.
Teacher give an example: There is a dog under the box. Choose someone to practise.
2. Take out your stationa ry, put one thing under another thing, then make a sentence use “There is
a …” or “There are …”
3. The same method to teacher behind, in front of. Read behind,Pay attention to the letter
behind [ai]
4. Read the words together for three times.
5. Do the exercise at page13, part 5.
三、Practice
1. Make a sentence use “There is a … under/…”or “There are … in front of …”. Practice in 4-menmber groups. Then, let the Ss speak one by one.
2. Show a big picture, let the Ss have a free talk according to the picture.
E.g.: There is a dog behind the curtains. Give the prize to the pupil who make the sentence well.
3. T: today, Toby is in our classroom, he brings 4 animal friends here. Who are they? Look, they
are Snoopy, Jiffy, Rabbit and Jerry. Choose someone to act the five animals, they go to the
different places to say :Where are they?(There is a rabbit behind the door./ There is a dog in front

三、Practice
1. Open your books at page 15, listen the story twice, but don’t tell the pupils the end of the story.
2. After a brief discussion about a possible ending for the story in the pupils’ mother tongue, then ask them to cut out the pieces of the puzzle on page 129 and stick them onto page 16.
3. Read the story after the tape.

一、Warm-up
1. The pupils and the teacher say a chant about their classroom.
2. Let’s talk about our classroom.
二、Presentation
2. Let’s cut out the puzzle pieces on page 127.
Then the pupils should glue them in on page 11.Part 2.
3. The teacher introduces the following words: desk, chair, floor, board, lights, door, window,
curtains.
4. The teacher uses facial expression and body language in general encourages and the pupils
acquire new words naturally.
Notes:
a) Non-verbal language helps the pupils to visualize the words and place them in the correct
context. It also creates the kind of atmosphere which makes learning very meaningful.
b) Flashcards are also very useful.
5. (1) Say the word and point to a picture of it.
(2) Repeat the word and point to another picture of the same object. If the word is chair, don’t
point to the same one as before.
(3) Ask the pupils to point to the object when they name it or when they mouth the word without
making any sound.
(4) Ask the pupils to close their eyes and imagine the word while you say it.
(5) Ask the pupils to point to the object and touch it.
6. If any of the pupils want to repeat the words, they should be allowed to do so. However, it
isn’t a good idea to ask the students to repeat the words immediately as this can cause
incomprehension in the future.
7. While you are giving the instructions you can add vocabulary and expressions like Touch you desk, Point at the window, Stand by the door, obviously using non-verbal language at the same time.

9. The teacher checks the answers by asking the pupils to read the words out loud. The teacher could also ask the pupils to work in pairs to correct the answers.

2. The pupils will have to concentrate and observe the picture carefully before giving their answers.
3. The pupils look at the picture on page11 for a short time (twenty seconds).
4. When the time is up, the pupils have to complete the sentences.

三、Practice
Do the logic exercise (Part 8) in groups.
This part is suitable mainly for those pupils who are shier and less outgoing than the others. These pupils usually have logical-analytical intelligence.
Notes:
It may be interesting to ask the pupils to do this exercise without giving them any further explanation and afterwards discuss the methods used in Chinese.
