七年级下册英语作文制定一个计划去长城
A Big Adventure to the Great Wall of China
Ever since I was a little kid, I've dreamed of going to see the Great Wall of China. It's one of the most amazing structures in the entire world, stretching across mountains and valleys for thousands of miles! Just imagining walking along those ancient stone pathways gives me chills.
Well, this year my dream is finally going to come true. My mom and dad surprised me a few weeks ago by saying we're taking a family trip to Beijing during summer vacation! I can hardly believe it. We've never gone anywhere really far away like that on our holidays before. This is going to be the journey of a lifetime.
As soon as they told me, I ran straight to my room and got out my big atlas to look at maps of China. Beijing is the capital city, located in the northern part of the country. The Great Wall winds across several different provinces, with the most popular section for tourists being about an hour outside of Beijing near Badaling. Just picturing myself there makes my heart race with excitement!
Of course, there's a ton of planning we need to do to get ready for such an epic trip. We'll be gone for about 10 days, so we have to make sure we pack all the right clothing and supplies. Despite it being summer, my research shows the weather in Beijing can be pretty hot but also rainy that time of year. We'll definitely need lightweight clothing to stay cool, but also a waterproof jacket or poncho for any sudden downpours. Good walking shoes are an absolute must too since we'll be doing a whole lot of hiking.
Mama is already making lists of toiletries and first aid items we should bring. Stuff like sunscreen, mosquito repellent, bandages, pain relievers, and diarrhea medication in case anybody gets ill from the different foods. She's been reading up on which beverages and foods are safe for foreigners to consume as well. We don't want to risk getting any nasty sicknesses by drinking unpurified water or eating contaminated dishes.
Part of me feels a little nervous about traveling to somewhere so exotic and far from home. But I know if we're smart and prepared, everything will be just fine. Dad has been studying Chinese phrase books and travel guides diligently so he can communicate basic things in Mandarin. He's already got our
international phone plans squared away and travel insurance arranged too in case of any emergencies. Safety is the top priority for sure.
But most of all, I'm just overwhelmingly excited Beijing has so many incredible sights and activities aside from the Great Wall too. We're going to see the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, and more. Mama even said we might be able to watch some amazing Chinese acrobat shows if we have time. This entire trip is going to be a non-stop cultural immersion experience.
I've been doing tons of research and daydreaming about every single detail. Like what if we got to see the Section of the Great Wall called the "Stair Buyers' Nook" that has all those crazy steep staircases? Or the part with the huge garrison towers that warriors used for looking out over the landscapes? Maybe we'll even encounter some friendly Chinese hikers who can teach us a few phrases in Mandarin. Wouldn't that be so cool?
A couple of my friends have actually been to the Great Wall before with their families. They've been showing me all their awesome photos and videos, which has made me even more eager to go. Seeing those real images of the gigantic stone fortifications winding up and down the mountainsides is
mind-blowing. You really can't comprehend the scale and majesty of it all until you're there in person.
One of the best parts will be climbing up onto the watchtowers at the highest points and surveying the views across the valleys and hills. They say you can look out in every direction and see the Wall's ancient trails snaking through the landscape for miles and miles. I'm definitely going to take a kazillion pictures from up there to show all my friends back home. Maybe I'll even put together a video slideshow when I get back to document every highlight.
My buddy Jack told me a funny story about the time he was at a section of the Wall near Beijing and encountered a big slobbery dog coming right towards him! He wasn't sure if it was a stray or somebody's pet, but it started following along behind his family, probably hoping for some food scraps. At one point it stopped and plopped its bum right down on the Great Wall itself to take a rest. Jack said it was both hilarious and a little gross at the same time. I really hope we get to see some classic moments like that on our trip too.
But most of all, I'm just so psyched to soak in all the history and majesty surrounding the Great Wall. Can you even imagine how it must have felt to be one of the ancient guards or warriors
stationed up there? Protecting the country's borders from invaders and watching over that rustic, beautiful scenery day after day? Part of me wonders if any of their ghosts still linger among those crevices and watch-towers, keeping an eye on the modern visitors.
Maybe I'll sense some special energy lingering in the atmosphere as I walk those very same ramparts. Or discover some crumbled Yuan Dynasty armory hiding in the undergrowth that's been lost to time. How incredible would it be to literally pick up an artifact and be the first person to lay eyes on it in over 700 years? A kid can dream, right?
No matter how our experience on the Great Wall actually unfolds, I know it's going to be something I never, ever forget. Crossing a real Wonder of the Ancient World off my life's bucket list at only 13 years old? That's one for the books for sure. Decades down the road, I'll probably still be boring my own grandkids silly with dramatic retellings and cheesy photo slideshows from this trip.
"Why yes, kids, your ol' grandfather Jack was the bravest adventurer of his time, slaying serpents left and right as he climbed every last ion of the Great Wall's 13,000 miles. You see that faded pavilion way off in the hazy distance there? I stumbled
upon the lost treasures of Genghis Khan himself underneath that very......"
Okay, okay, I may be getting a little carried away here. But you get the picture! This Chinese excursion is destined to be the journey of a lifetime, filled with excitement, discovery, and tons of amazing memories. I honestly can't wait for the summer to get here so we can get this adventure on the road already. Bring it on, Great Wall of China! This seventh grader was born ready.。
