保罗的家庭成员自正在做的事情英文作文My Friend Paul's Family
My best friend is a boy named Paul. He lives not too far from me, just a few blocks away. I really like going to Paul's house because his family is so much fun! Paul has a mom and dad, an older brother, and a younger sister. They're always up to such interesting things.
Let me tell you about Paul's mom first. Her name is Sarah and she is a teacher at our elementary school. She's actually my 3rd grade teacher! Mrs. Johnson is really nice and patient. She never seems to get frustrated, even when kids are being a little rowdy. Right now, she is on summer vacation from teaching. During the days, she likes to work in her flower garden outside. She has tons of beautiful roses, tulips, daffodils and other pretty flowers planted all around the backyard. She spends hours taking care of them - watering them, pulling out weeds, trimming them, and making sure they look just right. Gardening is her favorite hobby.
In the evenings after gardening, Mrs. Johnson also really enjoys cooking big family meals for everyone to eat together. She's an amazing cook! Her specialty is homemade pasta dishes
like lasagna, chicken parmesan, and linguine with clam sauce. Sometimes Paul complains that his mom makes too much food because there are always tons of leftovers. But I don't mind - I happily eat the leftovers when I come over! She just loves taking care of her family by cooking nutritious, delicious meals for them.
Next, there's Paul's dad, whose name is Michael. He's a police officer, so he has to work some long shifts. But whenever he's home, he really enjoys tinkering with his vintage car collection out in the garage. Paul's dad has 4 super cool old cars from the 1960s that he is restoring little by little. Right now, he's working on getting a 1967 Ford Mustang up and running again. He spends hours under the hood, fixing the engine and getting all the parts working properly. Paul says his dad gets greased up from head to toe, but he looks so happy and content while working on those classic cars. Someday Paul's dad hopes to enter his restored cars into antique auto shows.
The oldest sibling in Paul's family is his brother, Jake. Jake is 16 years old and just got his driver's license last year. He works part-time after school at the local grocery store as a bagger and stocker to earn some spending money. In his free time, Jake is really into playing sports, especially basketball. He's the star
shooting guard on his high school's varsity team. Whenever I go over to Paul's house, Jake is usually outside playing basketball, working on his jump shot or running drills and conditioning exercises. He's crazy talented and hopes to maybe get a scholarship to play basketball in college someday. Jake is also a huge NBA fan and has basketball posters and memorabilia covering the walls of his bedroom.
Finally, there's Paul's little sister, Emma, who's 8 years old like us. Out of everyone in the family, Emma is probably the most active and energetic! She's involved with so many different activities. During the school year, she takes dance classes a few times a week. She especially loves ballet, jazz and hip hop dance styles. This summer, though, Emma is taking gymnastics lessons. I've seen her working on her tumbling passes and she's super bendy and flexible. She can do cool stuff like the splits, backbends, and cartwheels. Emma also takes horse riding lessons at a local stable. I've gone with Paul to watch her ride the horses a few times and she's become an extremely good rider already! She hopes to enter horseback riding competitions soon.
I don't know how Emma has the energy to do all those activities, but she just loves being physical and active.
As for my buddy Paul, he's a lot more laid back than his hyper little sister. His biggest hobby is building things with Lego bricks. Paul has tons of different Lego sets and he spends hours following the instructions to put them all together perfectly. Once he's finished building something, he likes to play with it by making up stories and acting them out with his Lego creations. In his room, he has an awesome Lego city that he's been working on for years, adding more buildings, vehicles and mini-figures all the time. It's so detailed and creative! Whenever I come over, we like to play with his Legos together and use our imaginations. Paul also enjoys reading, especially science fiction books and comic books. He's a big Star Wars fan too.
So that's what Paul's fun, active family members are all up to these days! Between Paul's mom gardening and cooking, his dad working on cars, his brother Jake playing basketball, his sister Emma with her dance/gymnastics/horse riding, and Paul building with Legos, there's always something entertaining happening over at their place. I'm lucky to have such a cool friend with an awesome family! I'd much rather hang out there than be bored at home by myself. Paul's family really knows how to stay busy and make the most of their free time.。
