好习惯助我成功的演讲稿英语作文
Good morning everyone! My name is Emily and I'm a fifth grader here at Oakwood Elementary School. Today, I've been asked to give a speech on how good habits have helped me succeed in school and in life.
First, let me start by explaining what a habit is. A habit is something you do regularly, almost without thinking about it. Some habits are good, like brushing your teeth every morning or doing your homework as soon as you get home from school. Other habits can be bad, like biting your nails or leaving your toys all over the floor.
The great thing about good habits is that they make our lives easier and help us achieve our goals. The bad thing about bad habits is that they can get in the way and make things harder for us. That's why it's so important to develop good habits from an early age.
One of the best habits I've developed is being organized. I have a special folder for all my homework assignments and a designated spot to put my backpack and lunchbox when I get home. This helps me keep track of everything and never lose important papers or items. It also makes my mornings much less
stressful because I'm not scrambling around trying to find things at the last minute.
Another key habit is setting aside time each day for studying and homework. As soon as I get home from school, I have a snack and then I sit down and get my homework done right away before I get distracted by other things. This ensures I never fall behind and am able to complete all my assignments on time. My parents have a rule that I can't watch TV or play video games until my homework is finished.
Getting enough sleep is another crucial habit for success. I go to bed at 8pm every night so that I can get 10-11 hours of sleep. Sleeping helps me wake up feeling refreshed and ready to concentrate at school the next day. It's hard to learn new things when you're feeling tired and cranky!
Exercise and eating healthy foods are habits that keep my body and mind strong. I try to play outside for at least an hour after school to get physical activity. And I always eat a nutritious breakfast in the morning with foods like whole grain cereal, fruit, eggs and yogurt. Junk food like chips, cookies and soda can make you feel sluggish.
Speaking of sluggish, procrastination is a bad habit I really try to avoid. Putting things off until the last minute just leads to
extra stress and rushing. I make it a habit to do things right away, whether it's my chores, homework, or getting ready for school in the morning.
Developing good habits around technology is also important in this digital age. I limit my recreational screen time to just an hour a day so I don't get distracted or waste too much time looking at a screen. At night, all devices get turned off at least an hour before bedtime.
As you can see, I've developed quite a few good habits that help set me up for success each and every day. Of course, habits take time and practice to build. Sometimes I slip up but I just have to get back on track. The positive thing about good habits is that the more you practice them, the more automatic they become. You don't even have to think about it after awhile.
It's never too early to start developing habits that will lead to success. Even us kids can build productive routines like staying organized, using our time wisely, getting enough sleep, exercising and limiting distractions. These habits don't just help in school, they prepare us for continued success in whatever path we choose in life.
I encourage all of you to take a look at your daily routines and habits. Get rid of those bad habits that are holding you back.
Start building new, positive habits that will lead to achievement. It takes work but it's so worth it. Habits shape who we are and the lives we lead.
Just look at me - thanks to my good habits, I'm doing well in school, I'm healthy and active, and I'm developing skills that will allow me to aim high and achieve my dreams. Whatever your goals are, good habits can be your secret weapon to fulfilling them.
Thank you all for listening! I'll leave you with this quote from Aristotle: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit." Let's all start building habits of excellence together.。
