学生课余的适当放松方式英语作文
Relaxing After School is Fun and Important!
Hi there! My name is Jamie and I'm a 4th grader at Oakwood Elementary School. School can be really hard sometimes with all the lessons, homework, tests, and trying to follow the rules. By the time the final bell rings at 3pm, I'm usually feeling pretty tired and ready for a break. That's why it's so important for kids like me to find good ways to relax and recharge after a long day at school.
One of my favorite after-school activities is playing outside. There's a park right down the street from my house with a playground, basketball court, and a big grassy field. I love going there with my friends to run around, play tag or hide-and-seek, swing on the swings, or just roll around in the grass. Getting some fresh air and exercise is a great way to blow off steam and stop thinking about school for a little while. My mom says playing outside is not only fun but good exercise to keep me healthy too. Sometimes we'll even have a little family picnic at the park which is always a nice treat.
When the weather is yucky and we have to stay inside, I like curling up to read one of my favorite books or comics. My
parents got me a cozy beanbag chair for my room which is the perfect spot to get lost in a great story. Reading sparks my imagination and takes my mind off any worries or stresses from the school day. Sometimes I'll read alone, but other times my little brother and I will take turns reading chapters from a book together. My parents try to limit how much TV or video games I play during the week to make sure I have time for other activities.
Speaking of video games, I do really enjoy playing them sometimes too, just not for hours and hours. My friends and I have been really into this multiplayer adventure game lately where we go on quests and battle monsters together. Playing this kind of game with my buddies is a nice way to hang out without even having to leave the house. Just as long as I don't get carried away and keep playing until bedtime!
Arts and crafts are another hobby I've gotten really into over the past year. My parents bought me a good supply of markers, colored pencils, paints, construction paper, and other supplies to work with. I'll often spend a lazy weekend afternoon making drawings, painting pictures, or working on fun little projects. Sometimes I even make homemade cards or gifts for my family and friends. Creating art is very relaxing and satisfying to me.
When I'm focused on a project, I don't think about anything else for a while.
I also try to make sure I get a break from screens and just relax without any particular activity sometimes. This may sound boring, but simply laying on the couch while listening to quiet music or an audiobook can be incredibly peaceful. Our family dog Buddy really enjoys these mellow times too and will often come snuggle up next to me for a little nap. My mom has told me it's healthy to give my brain this kind of break every so often instead of constantly looking at screens or doing super active stuff.
Going for walks around the neighborhood is another nice way to get a reset, especially if I had a stressful day at school. The fresh air and change of scenery always seem to clear my head. My dad and I will sometimes challenge ourselves to look for different types of birds or trees on our walks too which makes it kind of like a little scavenger hunt. If I'm feeling antsy with extra energy to burn, I may bike around the neighborhood a few times instead.
When I'm not doing any of those things, just hanging out and chatting with my family is a simple but fun way to relax too. We'll talk about our days, joke around, watch someTV together,
or play a board game. My dad is addicted to these really corny dad jokes that make me laugh/groan every time. We honestly don't need to be doing some big fancy activity to have quality time as a family. Some of my best memories are just laughing together on the couch.
Of course, too much relaxing can be a problem too. My parents are pretty strict about making sure I get my homework done before I can go play. They know how important it is for me to stick to a good routine – work first, then I get my free time as a reward. I grumble about it sometimes, but I know they're just trying to make sure I develop good habits. Luckily there's usually at least a little room for some chilling at the end of each day before bedtime.
As long as I'm getting all my responsibilities taken care of, some quality relaxation and free playtime is really important after being at school all day. Whether it's going outside, reading, making art, playing games, or just vegging out for a bit, taking breaks helps me recharge my body and mind. That way I can be bright-eyed and ready to tackle a new day of learning tomorrow! Every kid deserves time to be a kid and not take life too seriously all the time. Having balance between work and play is key for a healthy, happy elementary schooler. So those are just some of
my thoughts on relaxing as a young student. Thanks for reading, and stay chill out there!。
