Book2 Unit2说课稿师范英语二班闫丽莹201334010225Good morning everyone. It’s my honor to share my lesson with you. My teaching material is from New Senior English for Chinese Student Book2 Unit2, the title is “ An Interview”, the reading part.part1: Teaching Material1.The analysis of teaching material and students. This reading is an interview between Li Yan,a volunteer from 2008 Olympic games and Pausanias, a Greek writer about 2000 years ago, so it may introduce the differences between ancient and modern Olympic games, in this reading, students can learn more Olympic games and reading skills, especially the skimming reading and careful reading. Because our students are all senior one, the words they learned are not enough and ability of spoken English is a little poor, so lead students to be interested in English learning is seems more important. Because this topic is related to our life, 2016 Olympic game will host in Rio soon, so I think it is helpful to raise their learning interests and increase the quantity of reading. Recently the Ministry of Education promulgates the 20 books of high school students, half of them are foreign books. So we can see, it is more and more important to learn English and do English reading.2. Teaching Aims. The teaching aims of this period include 5 aspects: knowledge, skill, cultural, emotional attitude and learning strategy. The first one: about knowledge students are able to know, understand and use new words and phrases, for example: Greek, volunteer, take part in, and practice new sentence pattern: What would like to know? I’d like to know…The second one: about skill, students will read this article twice and think, learn together in order to strengthen language awareness, accumulate language experience, improve reading skill (skimming and careful reading) even to conclude and summarize.T he third one: about culture, students can master the origin and development of the Olympics. The fourth one: emotional attitude, students are able to know more about Olympic, experience Olympic spirit: Never abandon and never give up. Lead students to concerned about and take part in it.The fifth one:learning strategies, students are able to develop self-learning in reading part to gain and deal with language information and form students’ questing habit to improve their ability of finding, analyzing and solving problems.3. Important Points.Help students to learn vocabulary, phrase and important sentence structure well, help students get the reading skills and know how to use it and know how to understand article detail.4. Difficult Points.Students have to know something about Olympic and competitive sports before the class. Students will practice the dialogue with partner, talk about Olympic use the knowledge we learned in this class.5. Teaching Methods. There are two kinds of teaching methods: Task-based language teaching method and heuristic teaching method. I will introduce them in details in next part.Part 2 Teaching Methods.About teaching methods:In this period, I am going to use two kinds of teaching methods. One is task-based language teaching method: firstly, students will be asked to read two questions before we start the first reading then start reading and find the answers. This teaching method helps students to find out the answer quickly and effectively. Another one is heuristic teaching method, in careful reading part, according to the differences between modern and ancient Olympic Games, lead students to find out the similarities. In homework part, teacher will ask students to take a role-playing task: if you are a volunteer in 2016 Rio Olympic Games, what would you want to prepare for it? This teaching method helps students to know how to infer other things from one fact. It’s a really good learning method, students will find more knowledge and interests by themself. Part 3.learning methodAbout learning method:There are two kinds of learning methods: autonomic learning method and cooperative learning method. In the first reading and practice part (find out the reasons why or why not we host the Olympic games)students asked to finished the task by themselves so they have to learn, think, analyze and sum up problems. Another is cooperative learning method, for example, in second reading part: students are asked to learn together to find out the differences between ancient and modern Olympic games. In practice part, students will have dialogue with partners to talk about Olympic Games. It is helpful for students to form the spirit of cooperation and team work. Teacher will listen to students carefully when they discuss in group and instruct them when they have some problems.Part 4 Teaching procedureStep1.Revision (1 minute)In this step, I will extend to students and introduce myself, students will also extend their greeting to me. This part is to remind everyone it is time for class.Step2.Lead-in (5minutes)At first, i will show you a song: 《北京欢迎你》together. Lead students to think about 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Then students will tell us more about Olympic Games that they know about modern Olympic Games. For example, five rings flag. I will show five colors means with different colors, and how many gold medal we got since 1896 Greece Olympic Games to now, let students know how we get the NO1, then I will show some Olympic sports events icons, students will guess what’s meanings. After this part, students can guess the topic of the interview, and this lead-in will raise the interests of this reading.Step3. While-reading (18minutes)Now we have knew something about modern Olympic games then I will ask students to open the book turn to page to six, then I will writhe the title in the blackboard, before read passage, I will ask two questions about main idea. This action let students to read with questions, it is more effective to get the answers. It is also a good chance to practice skimming reading. After answer my questions we will turn into second reading, this time students will read carefully, after reading, and there a table about the differences between modern and ancient Olympic Games, it include host place, time, events prize and athlete. Students will discuss with partners and complete the blanks. After finish these, students can know details of this reading, it is also a good chance to practice careful-reading.Step4. Post reading/Practice (18 minutes)Now we turn into practice part. After learned the information from the passage, students should be checked whether they can use these knowledge freely.Firstly, students will be asked to finish this task like this: reasons to host the Olympic Games, and in this task students have to cooperate in group. But when students think about reasons not to host they have to think by themselves. This part is to practice their autonomic learning method and cooperative learning method. After that, students will have an interview between their partners and talk about Olympic games with the knowledge we learn in this reading. And two of students will Show us their dialogue. This part is most difficult for them to finish. But it can practice students’ communicative skill and s poken English. At last I will show some true or false questions to check out if there is some knowledge lost.Step5. Emotional Education (3 minutes)At first I will ask students a question: what about your feelings now. This radio is Liu Xiang won the champion of men’s 110 meter hurdles in Athens Olympic Games. Students will feel the Olympic spirit: never abandon, never give up!Step6. Homework (2 minutes)If you are a volunteer in 2016Rio Olympic Games, what do you want to prepare for it? This part helps take a Olympic pole-playing thinking, practice their creative mode of thinking. Thanks for your listening!Unit 2An InterviewPausanias Ancient Olympic differencesAn interviewLi Yan Modern Olympic similarities。

必修二第二单元说课稿
Teaching plan(2)Good mor ning, respected judges. I’m No.* contestant to apply for the qualification as a senior high school English teacher. It’s really my great honor to stand here and interpret my teaching plan to all of you.I have been ready to begin this representation with five parts: teaching material, students’ analysis, teaching aims, important& difficult points, teaching and learning approach and teaching procedure.1)Teaching materialNow, let me start with the first part- teaching material. Today’s lesson is from Unit2, Book 2, published by People’s Education Press. It’s a reading passage called “The story of Atlanta”. The text is about a fast-running girl called Atlanta, who was a Greek princess, made a bargain with her father that only the man, who runs faster than her, could marry her. Therefore a boy called Hippomenes began the race. It’s an interesting passage with an end to be finished.2)Students’ analysis& teaching aimsAs for students’ analysis, we all know tha t students have great interests in Olympic Games and have laid a basic foundation in words and phrases through former study. Therefore, according to this point, I divide teaching aims into 3 parts.a)Knowledge aimThe first part is knowledge aim. In this part, students are supposed to master the future passive voice.b)Ability aimAs to the second part- ability aim, students are encouraged to develop the ability to use 2 important reading skills-fast reading in getting the main idea and careful reading in finding out details.c)Emotion aimLast but the most important part is the emotion aim. By learning this passage, students can have a better understanding of the Olympic’s spirit –to live healthily and thus cultivate their interests in sports3)Important& difficult pointsNext, I’d like to present the important and difficult points in this text. The important points include knowing the structure of the future passive voice.Compared with the important points, the difficult points are the ability to find out where the future passive voice are and to know how to write sentences by using future passive voice.4)Teaching& learning approachAccording to the important and difficult points, I decide to choosetask-based language teaching approach and communicative approach as my teaching approach and group working and independent thinking as learning approach. As for the teaching approach, I think it important for students to develop the ability in working out the given tasks with the help of others. The reason of my learning approach is to encourage students to think up the answers independently and develop a sense of team work by listening and sharing.5)Teaching procedureBasing on what I’ve listed just now, I’d like to move to the most important part-the teaching procedure. This part consists of 5 steps: Lead in, while-reading, summary, discussion and homework.1.Lead in (5-7mins)In this step, I will play a video about Atlanta and then I will ask some volunteers to do the role- playing in front of the class and I will be the narrator.Purpose of my design:It’s an efficient way to arouse their interest in learning the text as well as leading in the text.2.While-reading (18-20mins)In this step, I will lead students to use 2 important reading skills: fast reading and careful reading.① Fast reading (3-5mins)First,I’ll give them 2-3 minutes to find out the main idea of each paragraph and the whole text, which will help them think independently. Second, students are asked to do 3 single choice questions to check their understanding of the whole passage.Third, I will check whether their answers are right.By doing this, they can trained the skill of getting the main points within a small amount of time .② Careful reading (13-15mins)Task 1: Before careful reading, I’ll explain new words and difficult sentences listed on the blackboard.Purpose of my design: It’s an efficient way for students to understand the text easily.Task 2:I’ll also list T/F questions on the blackboard and one question to think about while reading “What do you think the end will be?”Students are supposed to read through the text and find out the answers within 5-6 minutes. After reading the passage carefully, I will guide the students to work in groups of 4 and discuss their answers and opinions. And I will check their answers and play the rest of the video to the students to tell them the end.Task 3: Each student is given a chart about the text with blanks on it. Iwill guide the students to listen to the tape and fill in the blanks. After listening, students can check their answers by looking at the text. Purpose of my design:In this way, they are trained the skill of finding out the information by reading the text in details.3.Summary (5mins)I’ll invite several students to look at their notes and make a brief summary about the text and then I’ll make a supplement.Purpose of my design: Students can consolidate what they have learned.4.Discussion (10-15mins)I’ll ask students to discuss 4 questions listed on the blackboard. Each group is given 7-8 minutes to discuss and select one student to present their ideas. The rest of the students will be the listeners. If anyone has a different opinion, he/ she can raise his/ her hand and speak it out. Purpose of my design: By doing this task, they will benefit a lot in their spoken English. Most students can take their parts in the activities, especially for those who have trouble in English study.5.HomeworkIn the last 1-2 minutes, I’ll assign the homework. Students are required to finish the exercises after the text.Purpose of my design:Homework is important and necessary for students to master the knowledge they’ve learned after class. 必修2 Unit2 阅读课说课稿(20121212)
Teaching design for Module 2 Unit 2 The Olympic GamesPeriod 1 Warming up and readingAnalysis of teaching materialThe topics of this unit are ancient and modern Olympic Games and the Olympic spirit. Students will learn about the origin of the Olympics as well as the aim of the Games and the sports events that can usually be seen at the Games. Some famous Greek myths, legends and characters will be introduced to students, too. As the cradle of western civilization, Greek Mythology has a deep relationship with Greek history and the origin of the Olympic Games. Also, it’s of great help for students to learn about western cultures and the development of the English language. The purpose of the reading part is to let students know some general knowledge of the ancient and modern Olympics and to help them understand the Olympic spirit. While learning, they will become more concerned about the greatest sports games of human race. Students will be able to master some reading skills like skimming, scanning and summarizing through various reading activities. Besides, teachers should encourage students to pay more attention to the characteristics of having an interview and enable them to make an interview on their own.Analysis of studentsMy students are mostly from the countryside. They are lacking in the basic knowledge and the cultural background of the topic--- the Olympic Games. As senior students, they have the ability to read. And the topic is interesting and will easily arouse the students’ learning emotion. As for the learning methods, they are poor in cooperative learning skills. Some students are not active in class and some students don’t like English so much. Therefore, I’ll have the students study in a relaxing atmosphere. Students will understand the new knowledge in certain degree through the mental process of seeing, hearing, reading, thinking, saying, etc. And they should make preparations for completing the new study task with the teacher’s help. Teaching methodsBased on the material and the students’ learning background, in this lesson, I mainly use “Communicative” Approach, “Question-and-answer activity teaching method““Pair work or individual work method” and “Task-based language teaching” to fulfill my teaching objectives.Task-based language teaching offers students an opportunity to complete the task in which the students use language to achieve a specific outcome. The activity reflects the real life and learners focus on meanings. They are free to use any language they want.Teaching objectivesAfter this lesson, students will be able to:a. know about some basic knowledge of the Olympic Games and the differences between ancient and modern Olympics as well as improve their reading skills like predicting, skimming and scanning by completing the reading tasks designed by the teacher;b. better understand “the Olympic spirit” through further thinking;c. learn some key words and expressions about sports events and the Olympic Games by intensive reading, such as ancient, modern, compete, host, admit, replace, mascots, swift, take part in, stand for, every four years, as well, in charge, one after another, etc.d. understand the structure and characteristics of an interview and know how to have an interview in their real life.Teaching FocusHelp students not only improve their reading skills but also master the key words and expressions listed as above.Teaching difficult pointsHow to help students understand the structure and characteristics of an interview and practice having their own interview.Teaching proceduresStep I Lead- inPlay a video clip titled “Olympic Games trough history” for the students and ask the question: Which city hosted more modern Olympic Games than the other city in the world? Get the students to think of London, which hosted the Olympics in 1908, 1948 and 2012.Then ask them “When were the Olympic Games held in Beijing?”to remind them of the Beijing Olympics and thus come to the third question: When and where will the next Olympic Games be held? The purpose of this step is to lead in the topic in an easy and interesting way and let the students know the latest host cities of the Games.Step II Warming upHave the students work in pairs and work out the quiz on P.9 then check their answers. The first two steps will help stimulate student s’ schemata about the Olympic Games and arouse their interest in learning.Step III Pre-readingRaise a question to make them think about the differences between the ancient and modern Olympics. In this way, we’ll go naturally into the reading passage.Step IV While- readingTell the students we will read an interview. Ask them to find out who the interviewer is and who the interviewee is so as to get the main characters of the passage. Before reading, ask the students : If you were Pausanias, what aspects would you want to know and what questions would you ask Li Yan about the Present-day Olympic Games?Work in groups of four, raise as many questions as they can and then have one or two groups report their questions.PredictingLook at the title, pictures and the first paragraph and guess:What is the interview possibly about? The history? The events? The athletes? The awards…?The purpose of this part is to help students build their scaffold of the knowledge in advance, which lays a foundation for their understanding and offers a conceptual framework for students.SkimmingSkim the passage to check their prediction. What does the interview tell us? ( Tick the one mentioned)the ancient Olympic Gamesthe modern Olympic Gamesgood & bad effects of theOGthe similarities between themthe difference between themConclusion: The interview is mainlyabout_________________________________________________________. Purpose of design: Instruct the students to get the general idea of the interview by skimming.Scanning I (To get some detailed information about the topic).Task: Can you find the similarities and differences of the ancient and modern Olympic Games?Let the students read the passage more carefully and fill in the blanks below:Similarities1. Both are held ____________________.2. ______are allowed to take part in both ancient and modern Olympics.3. Some events are the same, such as___________________________________ .4. Both are held not for money but for ______.5. The mottos are the same. They are _____________________________.DifferencesScanning II Read the text again and answer the questions in pairs. (To further comprehend the passage.)1. What amazes Pausanias about the Olympic Games?2. Why does he think Athens and Beijing should feel proud?3. Why does he think People may be competing for money in the modern Olympic Games? Answers:1. He is amazed that so many countries take park in the modern Olympic Games and that women can also compete.2. Because they can host the Olympic Games, which is a great honour.3. Because he feels so much has changed since his original ancient Olympic Games. Purpose of design: Students will be able to complete their framework by various reading tasks, in which different kinds of teaching methods like “Question-and-answer activity teaching method”、“Pair work or individual work method” .“Task-based language learning”are used. And by doing so, students can understand the reading material better and master some key language points.Step V Post-reading1. 高中英语必修二《Unit 2 The Olympic Games》全英文说课稿
《Unit 2 The Olympic Games》说课稿Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:The lesson I’m teaching today is from unit 2 Book 2 The Olympic Games. This is the second period, reading comprehension “ An interview”. The students I’m teaching are from senior 1 who have great passion for English and ability of using English in class. They have learnt the new words and phrases in the first period. In this lesson, I will adapt situational , communicative , cooperative and task-based approaches .Here are the major teaching tasks and aims :1.To help Ss learn some useful words, phrases and sentences about Olympicsso that they can use them in their daily life in a proper way and to have a touch of a grammar item-the future passive voice, which is the language focus and difficult point of this period..2.To develop Ss’ reading , listening and note-taking and speaking skills withactivities about Olympics, help Ss find the differences and similarities of the ancient and modern Olympics, which is the important point of this period, and help Ss to understand the structure of an interview in order to conduct an interview in a proper way. This is the ability goal of this lesson.3.To encourage Ss to love sports, to understand the Olympic spirit “Swifter,Higher and Stronger” and use it to guide their life and study. This is also the moral lesson of this unit.To fulfill the teaching tasks, I will carry out competitions through the whole class using a computer and a projector. The teaching procedures are as follows Step 1. Leading inI will begin the lesson by playing the theme song of Beijing Olympics “You and me” and ask Ss to talk about their feeling after they hear this song. This is to lead in the topic of Olympics and arouse their interest of this lesson.Step 2. Warming upAt the beginning of the new lesson , the class will be divided into four groups. Then we will begin a a quiz about Olympics .The purpose of this step is to check Ss’knowledge about Olympics and prepare them for the study of the new lesson.(1)How many gold medals did our country win in Beijing Olympics?(2)Who was the first gold medal winner in Beijing Olympics and for whatevent?(3)What are the official mascots for Beijing Olympics?(4)What is the slogan of Beijing Olympics?(5)Where will the 2012 Olympics be held?(6)What do the five rings on the Olympic flag stands for?(7)What are the three words that show the spirit of the Olympic Games?(8)Where did the ancient Olympic Games start?Step 3. Speaking and anticipatingI will show pictures of some famous athletes of our country and ask Ss to talk about their favourite sports and athletes, then provide Ss with some pictures about the ancient Olympics and ask them to predict the differences between the ancient and modern Olympics. This step is to improve Ss’ speaking skill and make them clear about what they are going to learn in this period.Step 4. Listening and note-takingSs will listen to the recording of the interview twice and meanwhile they should take notes, which is a very important skill that should be emphasized .In this step, Ss listen for and acquire information. After the first time of listening, Ss are supposed to answer some information questions, such as what is the interview about; after listening twice, Ss are expected to have taken down notes about some essential aspects of the interview. And finally, with the help of the notes, students should be able to retell the interview with their own words. The purpose of this step is to give the students some language input, develop their note-taking skill, and give them a chance to reproduce the language input.Step 5. Reading and practisingSs will open their books and read the dialogue in order to fulfill 3 tasks: the first one is to complete a short passage with words and phrases from the interview; the second one is to find out the differences and similarities of the ancient and modern Olympics. Ss are required to work in groups of four to shout out their answers asquickly as possible in this task and they will get one point for each correct answer. The third one is to find out how Li Yan talks about the rules for the Olympics . Step by step, students discover and use language under the teacher’s guidance. I design one activity for this purpose. In demonstrating the usage of the future passive voice “will be done”, I provide them with a situation where they can make a poster with quite a few rules for London Olympics. This step is to improve Ss’ reading skill, broaden their knowledge about the ancient and modern Olympics, and help them to understand how to make rules with the help of the future passive voice.Rules for the Olympic Games1.Nobody _____________(allow) to enter the stadium without a ticket.2.Children ___________ (not allow) to make a noise and upset thecompetitors. If they do, they ___________ (take away) from the stadium.3.No animals _____________ (allow) in the stadium.4.Cheating by athletes ________________ (not excuse). They ___________(tell) to leave and ___________ (punish)5.No smoking ______________(allow). If you are discovered, you___________(fine).Step 6. Consolidation and applicationThis is a kind of brainstorming. Ss will discuss in pairs to understand the structure of an interview and then hold an interview in class. Ask one student to act as a reporter, the other acts as an athlete who has just won a gold medal in Beijing Olympics . Some useful sentences will be provided to help Ss to hold the interview. I will give Ss 3 minutes to prepare and then invite several pairs to do their interview in front of the class. After the interview, then comes a whisper game. I will give one piece of paper to the first student of each group, on the paper there is a sentence, which is one aspect of the main idea of the interview, ask Ss to whisper the sentence to the student behind him. When the last student of each group hears the sentence, they must go to the front as quickly as possible to write down the sentence on the board. Then we will correct the sentences together to see which group is the quickest and makes the fewest mistakes. After correcting all these sentences, Ss will realize these sentences cover the content of the interview, but the order is not right. So they have to put them into a right order and rearrange these sentences into a logical 5-sentence passage with some conjunctions, such as and, but , because, and so on, which is quite similar to basic writing in the exam. In this game, Ss must speak clearly, listen carefully and write correctly. So the purpose of this step is to give every student a chance to speak English in class, improve their listening and speaking skills with some fun.(They may use the following sentences to hold an interview.)(1) How did you feel when you knew you got the gold medal ?(2) When did you first take part in the Olympics?(3) How many gold medals have you got?(4) Will you continue to join in the 2012 London Olympics?(5)What do you usually do in your free time?…Step7 . AssessmentI will design a chart to ask Ss to sum up what they have learned and what difficulties they still have in this lesson. In this step, Ss are required to assess not only themselves but also others, and we should also conclude which group is the winner of this period and give them a prize.Step 8 AssignmentJust now I began my lesson with Beijing Olympics, so I want to end my lesson with it again. Ask Ss to write a composition “What impressed me most in Beijing Olympics”, they can surf the internet to find more information to help them. In this way, Ss will better understand Beijing Olympics and they will be proud of our country. This is the moral lesson out of class. That’s all for my presentation, thank you.。
