三、语法
形容词的比较级大多数形容词(性质形容词)有比较级和最高级的变化,即原级、比较级和最高级,用来表示事物的等级差别。
原级即形容词的原形,比较级和最高级有规则变化和不规则变化两种。
1、形容词与副词比较级的构成⑴规则变化
单音节词和少数双音节词,加词尾-er,-est来构成比较级和最高级。
⑵不规则变化
(1) 形容词比较级常用于两者之间的比较,表示两者之间的差异,构成形式多为“主语+谓语(系动词)+形容词比较级+than+比较对象”。
eg: They have more orange than we (do)/us.
This coat is too small. Do you have a bogger one?
(2) “比较级+and+比较级”或“more + more +原形(多音节和部分双音节形容词)”,意为“越来越……”。
eg: Our city is more and more baeuyiful.
(3) “the+比较级,the+比较级”意为“越……,就越……”。
eg: The more you read, the more you know.
(4) as…as…意为“与……一样……”,否定形式“not as/so…as”意为“不如……怎么样,不与……一样……”。
注意as与as之间用形容词和副词的原形。
eg: This room is not as/so big as that one.
= This room is smaller than that one.。
