1998年广东省普通高等学校本科插班生考试英语试题Part I Reading Comprehension(40%)Passage IThe computer is a wonderful machine. It is the most important invention since the type of engine used in cars.Today it has the greatest effect on science, industry, and business, but it is being used more in education and medicine.By the end of this century it will touch the lives of everyone, even people in distant villages. It is a revolutionary invention. The oldest kind of computer is the abacus used in China since the sixth century. In the seventeenth century an adding machine was invented, but the furst large, modern computer was built in 1937.A few years later a computer could do 5000 additions per second. Now the computations are so fast that they are measured in nanoseconds(毫微秒).Today most computers have a memory. They are getting smaller and smaller, and computing faster and faster.Even in a large computer, the part that does the actual computing is about the size of the end of a finger.Computers can do all kinds of work. When someone buys something in a department store, information about the sale goes into a computer,A scientist can talk to the computer about the rocks, and the computer answers the questions.A doctor can talk to the computer and explain what is wrong with a patient. If the doctor asks why,the computer goes through its stored information and explains exactly why. When early humans important differences in male and female roles now.One is that both men and women have many more choices. They may choose to marry or to stay single. They may choose to work or stay at home. Both men and women may choose roles that are comfortable for them.A second difference in male and female roles is that within marriage many dec isions and responsibilities are shared. The husband and wife may drink bottles you throw away every day can be turned into carpet or automobiles parts? That used glass bottles and aluminum cans can be turned into new ones? And that yesterday’s newspaper can be turned into tomorrow’s?It all happens because of recycling(再利用).The simple waste we throw away is a “natural resource”that, with recycling, can be used to produce a variety of new products.Unfortunately,America recycles only 10% of its rubbish, burns 10% and deposits 80% in waste desposal grounds,As a result,it is having to cope with a serious solid waste problem.Every year,Americans throw away about 160 million tons of rubbish.Of that total, plastics make up less than 8%,paper about 36%,and glass and metal about 20%,all by weight.Plastics are naturally lighter, but still, when pressed together, accout for only about 20% by volume. As a result,in the past 10 years the United States’ waste disposal grounds have decreased from about 18,500 to 6,000.In five years 2,000 more will close. In the process of finding solutions, some people have proposed to stop using plastics.Unfortunately, stop using plastics would do much harm and no good.We would lose all of the safety, health and convenience features of plastics.Besides, packaging would still be needed.A 1987 study shows what would happen if plastics were not used--the energy needed to produce other packaging, its cost, and the volume of waste collected would all rise greatly. Some Americans believe part of the answer to Ameri ca’s waste problem lies in recycling everything from glass to metals to paper to plastic.Today, recycling is on the rise. There are now more than 1,000 waste recycling programs in the U.S.Many are beginning to recycle plastics.Right now, almost 200 companies are recycling millions of used plastic containers into toys, traffic signs, waste baskets, floor materials, and park benches.Plastics are among the easiest materials to recycle.More than 150 million pounds or 20% of all plastic soft drink bottles were recycled in 1987.11.What can’t the plastic soft drink bottles be turned into?A.Newspapers.B.Automobile parts.C.Toys.D.Traffic signs.12.Of all the rubbish in the U.S.,plastics account for_____by weight and_____by volume.A.20%; 20%B. 8%; 20%C.36%; 8%D.20%; 36%13.On average, waste plastics are_____other wastes.A.as heavy in density asB.heavier in density later time when it is needed. The information may be kept for days or weeks. However, information in short-term memory is kept for only a few seconds, usually by repeating the information over and over. The following experiment shows how short-term memory has been studied.Henning studied how students who are learning English as a second language remember vocabulary. The subjects in his experiment were 75 college students. They represented all levels of ability in English:beginning, intermediate, advanced, and native-speaking students. To begin, the subjects listened to a recording of a native speaker reading a paragraph in English.Following the recording, the subjects took a 15-question test to see which words they remembered. Each question had four choices. The subjects had to circle the word they had heard in the recording. Some of the questions had four choices that sound alike. For example, weather, whethet, wither, and wetter are four words that sound alike. Some of the questionshad four choices that have the same meaning.Method, way, manner, and system would be four words with the same meaning. Finally the subjects took a language proficiency test.Henning found that students with a lower proficiency in English made more of their mistakes on words that sound alike;students with a higher proficiency made more of their mistakes on words that have the same meaning.Henning’s results suggest that beginning students hold the sound of words in their short-term memory, and advanced students hold the meaning of words in their short-term memory.16.Henning made the experiment in order to You are wearing jeans and a T-shirt, listening to a great concert. Now rewind this picture 1,839 years. You are in the same seat, only you are watching classical Greek entertainment and wearing a simple chiton, or tunic. The city of Athens is a fun mix of the old and the new, the classic and the modem. Often a little shop is located next to the rains of a temple, which is only a block from a large, air-conditioned hotel. The great city of 2,500 years ago is still visible today.Ruins are the most obvious sign of ancient Athens, and the most famous of these is the Acropolis. The Acropolis is a large hill that was the center of life in Athens. On its slopes were temples, monuments, and theaters. From the top, you can see how the urban sprawl of Athens stretches out in every direction. On the top of the Acropolis is the Parthenon. This was once a huge temple to Athena, the city's patron. It was first completed in 432 B.C., but has been damaged and destroyed several times. However, visitors can still see the "tricks" used in building the Parthenon. The columns along the outside lean inward, and are slightly fatter in the middle. The temple is also higher in the middle than on the sides. All these effects make the Parthenon look perfectly straight from a distance.Only a block away from the Acropolis is the neighborhood of Plaka. The area, with its little shops and restaurants, is very popular with both tourists and locals, and is an important part of modem Athenian culture. Many great thinkers, writers, and political leaders lived in ancient Athens. The ruins of their homes and favorite spots are scattered throughout the busy port city. The hill where St. Paul addressed early Christian Athenians is located near the Acropolis. Great thinkers such as Pericles and Demosthenes spoke to the civil assemblies held at the Pnyx Hill. Today the Pnyx is an open-air theater for light and sound shows. Greeks still use some ancient sites, such as the Pnyx and the Theater of Heroes Atticus. During Roman times, in 76 A.D., gladiators used the Panathenaic Stadium for contests. The Olympics were held there in 1896, and today people still jog and exercise in the stadium.Tourism is very important to people who live in modem-day Athens. Thousands of people come every year to see these ruins and to tour the many museums that house artifacts from ancient times. This providesmany jobs and brings money into Athens, which helps the city pay for improvements. Athenians take pride in the accomplishments of their ancestors, and people from all around the world come to admire them. By looking around the city today, we can imagine what life was like in ancient Athens.1. Which of the following statements is INCORRECT about the city of Athens?A. The culture of the city is a mixture of the old and modem.B. Traces of the ancient city can still be found.C. Ruins and modem hotels co-exist in the city.D. All the temples are not far away from air-conditioned hotels.2. Which tourist attraction was ancient Athens most famous for?A. Plaka.B. Acropolis.C. Pnyx.D. Parthenon.3. According to the context, "tricks" in Paragraph Five refer to ______.A. mischievous actsB. confusing constructing skillsC. skillful constructing methodsD. constructing materialsPassage TwoWhat we know of prenatal development makes all this attempt made by a mother to mold the character of her unborn child by studying poetry, art, or mathematics during pregnancy seem utterly impossible. How could such extremely complex influences pass from the mother to the child? There is no connection between their nervous systems. Even the blood vessels of mother and child do not join directly. An emotional shock to the mother will affect her child, because it changes the activity of her glands and so the chemistry her blood. Any chemical change in the mother's blood will affect the child for better or worse. But we can not see how a looking for mathematics or poetic genius can be dissolved inblood and produce a similar liking or genius in the child. In our discussion of instincts we saw that there was reason to believe that whatever we inherit must be of some very simple sort rather than any complicated or very definite kind of behavior. It is certain that no one inherits a knowledge of mathematics. It may be, however, that children inherit more or less of a rather general ability that we may call intelligence. If very intelligent children become deeply interested in mathematics, they will probably make a success of that study. As for musical ability, it may be that what is inherited is an especially sensitive ear, a peculiar structure of the hands or the vocal organs connections between nerves and muscles that make it comparatively easy to learn the movements a musician must execute, and particularly vigorous emotions. If these factors are all organized around music, the child may become a musician. The same factors, in other circumstance might be organized about some other center of interest. The rich emotional equipment might find expression in poetry. The capable fingers might develop skill in surgery. It is not the knowledge of music that is inherited, then nor even the love of it, but a certain bodily structure that makes it comparatively easy to acquire musical knowledge and skill. Whether that ability shall be directed toward music or some other undertaking may be decided entirely by forces in the environment in which a child grows up.4. Which of the following statements is not true?A. Some mothers try to influence their unborn children by studying art and other subjects during their pregnancy.B. It is utterly impossible for us to learn anything about prenatal development.C. The blood vessels of mother and child do not join directly.D. There are no connection between mother's nervous systems and her unborn child's.5. A mother will affect her unborn baby on the condition that ____.A. she is emotionally shockedB. she has a good knowledge of inheritanceC. she takes part in all kind of activitiesD. she sticks to studyingVI.Cloze. Decide which of the words given in the box below would best complete the passage if inserted in the corresponding blanks. The words can be used ONCE ONLY. 23年广东专插本英语作文历年真题范文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Amazing Journey to GuangdongHello, everyone! My name is Sarah, and I want to share with you my amazing journey to Guangdong. It was the most exciting adventure I've ever had!Last summer, my family and I decided to visit Guangdong, a beautiful province in China. We had heard so many wonderful things about it, and we couldn't wait to explore all the amazing places. I was thrilled! Our first stop was Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong. We visited the famous Canton Tower, which is one of the tallest buildings in the world. The view from the top was breathtaking! I could see the entire city from up there. We also went to the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, where I learned about the rich history and culture of Guangdong. It was like stepping back in time!Next, we went to Shenzhen, a vibrant and modern city. We visited Happy Valley, an amusement park with thrilling rides andexciting shows. I screamed with joy as I rode the roller coasters and watched the acrobatic performances. It was so much fun! We also went to Window of the World, a theme park that showcases famous landmarks from around the world. I felt like I was traveling to different countries in just one day!One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to the beautiful city of Zhuhai. We went to the Zhuhai Fisher Girl, a famous statue overlooking the sea. Legend has it that the statue brings good luck to fishermen. I made a wish and hoped that it would come true! We also visited the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, one of the largest aquariums in the world. I saw dolphins, sharks, and even penguins! It was like being in an underwater wonderland.Another place we explored was Foshan, a city known for its martial arts. We watched a Kung Fu performance and I was amazed by the skill and agility of the performers. I even tried to learn a few moves myself, but it was harder than it looked! We also visited the Foshan Ancestral Temple, a historic temple that showcases traditional Chinese architecture. It was so peaceful and serene. Our last stop was the beautiful city of Guangdong, known for its natural scenery. We went hiking in the Danxia Mountain, famous for its unique red cliffs. The view was absolutely stunning! We also visited the Seven Star Crags, a group of limestone hills surrounded by clear blue water. I couldn't resist taking lots of pictures to capture the beauty of the place. As our journey came to an end, I felt a mix of happiness and sadness. I was happy because I had experienced so many wonderful things and created amazing memories with my family. But I was also sad because I didn't want to leave Guangdong. It had become a special place to me.Visiting Guangdong was an incredible adventure that I will never forget. I learned so much about the history, culture, and natural beauty of this amazing province. It was like a dream come true for a little girl like me. Guangdong will always hold a special place in my heart, and I hope to visit again someday. That's the end of my story. Thank you for listening! I hope you enjoyed hearing about my amazing journey to Guangdong.篇2My Favorite AnimalHello everyone! My name is Lisa, and today I want to tell you about my favorite animal. Can you guess what it is? It's a panda! Pandas are so cute and lovely. I just can't resist their charm!Pandas are native to China, and they are known for their black and white fur. They have round faces, big eyes, and a chubby body. Whenever I see a picture of a panda, my heart melts. They look like giant stuffed animals! One of the reasons why I love pandas is because they are so gentle. They spend most of their time eating bamboo, and they have a very peaceful nature. I wish I could spend a day with a panda and watch it munch on bamboo. It must be a delightful sight!Another reason why I admire pandas is because they are endangered. There are not many pandas left in the world, and we need to do everything we can to protect them. I believe that each and every animal is important, and we should take care of them and their habitats. In order to help pandas, many people and organizations have set up panda reserves and conservation projects. These places provide a safe environment for pandas to live and breed. They also conduct research to better understand pandas and their needs. I think it's wonderful that so many people are working together to save this wonderful creature. If I had a chance to visit a panda reserve, I would be the happiest girl in the world! I would love to see pandas up closeand personal. I would also like to learn more about their behavior and their daily lives. Maybe I could even volunteer to help take care of them. That would be a dream come true!In conclusion, pandas are my favorite animals. They are cute, gentle, and need our help. I hope that in the future, more and more people will join hands to protect pandas and ensure their survival. Let's cherish and love all animals, big and small!Thank you for listening to my story. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. Remember, we all have the power to make a difference in the world, no matter how small we are. Let's make our planet a better place for everyone, including the adorable pandas! That's all for now. Goodbye, everyone!Yours,LisaWord count: 341篇3My Awesome School YearHi there! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I just finished 4th grade and I'm really excited to tell you all about my awesome school year. Get ready for some fun stories! The first day of school was kind of scary but also really exciting. I had a new teacher named Mrs. Johnson and she seemed really nice. She had us go around the room and say our names and one fun fact about ourselves. I said that my fun fact was that I have a pet guinea pig named Cinnamon. A lot of the other kids had really cool fun facts too like they could juggle or they had been to Disney World. In my class this year there were 22 kids total including me. My best friends are Emma and Sophia. Emma is really good at art and wants to be an artist when she grows up. Sophia is super smart and always gets good grades. I'm not as smart as Sophia but I do pretty well in most subjects. My favorite is science because we get to do a lot of fun experiments. One of the coolest experiments we did this year was making baking soda and vinegar volcanoes. We made a volcano shape out of paper mâché and then put baking soda in the hole at the top. Then we mixed red food coloring with vinegar and slowly poured it into the baking soda. It started bubbling up andoverflowing like a real volcano! It was so awesome to watch. I felt like a real scientist that day.Another highlight was when we went on a field trip to the natural history museum. They had so many cool dinosaur skeletons and exhibits about rocks and minerals. My favorite part was the gem and mineral room where they had all these beautiful gems on display. Some of them were so bright and sparkly! I decided that day that I want to be a gemologist when I grow up so I can work with precious gems.Recess and PE were probably my favorite parts of the school day. I love being active and running around at recess. Sometimes we would play fun games like tag or kickball. In PE we learned how to do cool things like juggling scarves, dribbling basketballs, and doing cartwheels. I'm not very good at cartwheels yet but I'm working on getting better! We also had some special events and celebrations throughout the year. In the fall we had a Thanksgiving feast with our families where we all brought in dishes to share. Everything was so yummy! For Christmas we did a gift exchange in our class where we picked random names and bought a small gift for that person. I got Sophia and gave her a new box of colorful gel pens since she loves art supplies. In the spring we put on a big music concert for our families. We had been practicing singing songs and playing instruments like xylophones all year long. I was so nervous to perform on stage but it ended up being a lot of fun! My parents were super proud of me afterward. The last few weeks of school were kind of sad because I knew summer was coming and that meant not seeing my friends as much. We did some fun end-of-year activities though like a talent show, field day, and an art gallery night to show off all our projects. My artwork from the year was hung up in the hallway and I felt like such an accomplished artist seeing it on display. Now that summer break is here, I'm going to miss my school and all the fun we had this year. Fourth grade was full of making new friends, learning new things, and having adventures every day. I can't wait to see what 5th grade has in store when I go back in a few months! For now I'm enjoying sleeping in late, swimming at the pool, and not having any homework. Ahh, summertime!篇4My Dream VacationHi everyone! My name is Amy, and I want to tell you about my dream vacation. I am a student from Guangdong, and I love to learn English. Today, I will share with you how I imagine my perfect vacation using the English language. If I could go on a dream vacation, I would choose to visit a magical place called "Dreamland." Dreamland is a beautiful island located in the middle of the ocean. It is known for its stunning beaches, clear blue waters, and colorful marine life. I have always wanted to explore the underwater world and see the amazing creatures that live there. When I arrive in Dreamland, the first thing I would do is put on my snorkeling gear and dive into the crystal-clear water. I would swim alongside colorful fish, graceful dolphins, and maybe even spot a sea turtle or two. It would be like entering a whole new world under the sea.Apart from the underwater adventures, Dreamland also has magnificent rainforests. I would love to go on a jungle trek and discover the exotic plants and animals that call this place home. I would listen to the sounds of birds chirping and monkeys swinging from tree to tree. It would be like being in a real-life adventure movie! In Dreamland, there is also a famous amusement park called "Funland." It has thrilling roller coasters, exciting water slides, and many other fun rides. I would scream with joy as I ride the roller coasters, feeling the wind in my hair and my heart racing with excitement. I would try all the different attractions and eat delicious snacks like cotton candy and popcorn. One of the best things about Dreamland is the friendly people who live there. They are always smiling and ready to help.I would love to make new friends and learn about their culture and traditions. I would try to speak to them in English, even though it might be challenging at times. I believe that language should never be a barrier to friendship. At night, Dreamland turns into a magical place. The sky is filled with twinkling stars, and the moon casts a soft glow over the island. I would lie on the beach and gaze at the stars, making wishes and dreaming about all the wonderful things I want to do in the future. It would be a moment of peace and tranquility.Sadly, my dream vacation to Dreamland is just a figment of my imagination for now. But I believe that dreams can come true if we work hard and never give up. Someday, I hope to visit a place just as amazing as Dreamland and create beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. That's the end of my story about my dream vacation to Dreamland. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Remember, dreams are powerful, and with determination, we can make them come true. Thank you for listening!【Word Count: 474】篇5My Favorite Animal - The ElephantHello everyone! My name is Lily, and I want to tell you about my favorite animal, the elephant. Elephants are amazing creatures that I love so much. They are the largest land animals in the world, and they have many unique features that make them special.First of all, elephants are really big! They are much bigger than me and even bigger than my house. They have a long trunk that they can use for many things, like picking up food, drinking water, and even giving themselves a shower. Isn't that cool? I wish I had a trunk like that!Elephants also have big, floppy ears. These ears help them to keep cool in hot weather. When it's really hot outside, elephantsflap their ears to create a breeze and cool themselves down. I think that's very clever!Another thing I love about elephants is their tusks. Tusks are long, pointy teeth that grow out from their mouths. Elephants use their tusks for many things, like digging for water and food, or even defending themselves if they need to. But it's important to remember that we should protect elephants and not harm them for their tusks.Did you know that elephants are really smart? They can remember things for a very long time, just like me remembering my friend's birthday or my favorite song lyrics. Elephants also live in families called herds, and they take care of each other. The grown-up elephants teach the baby elephants how to find food and stay safe. It's like having a big family all the time!I also find it fascinating that elephants communicate with each other using low-frequency sounds that we can't hear. They make these sounds by rumbling and trumpeting. It's like they have their own secret language! I wish I could understand what they are saying. In conclusion, elephants are my favorite animals because they are big, smart, and have many special features. I love how they use their trunks, ears, and tusks. They are also kind and takecare of each other in their herds. I hope you enjoyed learning about elephants as much as I do. Thank you for listening!篇6My Favorite AnimalHello, everyone! My name is Lily, and today I want to tell you about my favorite animal. Can you guess what it is? It's a panda! Pandas are the most adorable creatures in the world, and I just can't get enough of them.Pandas are native to China, and they are famous for their black and white fur. They have big, round eyes and cute, chubby bodies. Whenever I see a picture of a panda, I can't help but smile. They look so cuddly and gentle. One of the things I love most about pandas is their diet. Did you know that they mainly eat bamboo? It's true! Pandas are herbivores, which means they only eat plants. They spend most of their day munching on bamboo shoots and leaves. Isn't that interesting? I think it's amazing how they can survive on such a simple diet.Another reason why pandas are my favorite animals is because they are endangered. That means there are not many ofthem left in the wild. It makes me feel sad to think that such lovely creatures might disappear one day. That's why it's important for us to protect their natural habitat and make sure they have enough food to eat.I remember reading a story about a baby panda named Bao Bao. He was born in a zoo and became a symbol of hope for all pandas. People from all over the world came to see him and learn about the importance of conservation. Bao Bao's story inspired me to do my part in saving these beautiful animals. If I could, I would love to visit a panda reserve one day. I want to see pandas in their natural habitat and learn more about their behavior. I think it would be an unforgettable experience. Maybe I could even volunteer to help take care of them. That would be a dream come true!In conclusion, pandas are my favorite animals because they are adorable, they have a unique diet, and they are endangered. I hope that more people will learn about the importance of protecting pandas and their habitat. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that these lovable creatures will be around for generations to come.Thank you for listening to my story about pandas. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. Let's all worktogether to protect our amazing planet and the incredible animals that call it home.。

专插本英语作文历年真题英文回答:In the Face of Adversity.Throughout history, adversity has been an integral part of the human experience. From natural disasters to personal setbacks, adversity can strike at any time, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and defeated. However, it is in the face of adversity that true character is revealed and resilience is forged. There are countless examples of individuals who have triumphed over adversity, using it as a catalyst for growth and transformation. From the depths of slavery, Frederick Douglass emerged as a leading abolitionist and orator. Faced with physical disabilities, Stephen Hawking became one of the most renowned physicists of our time. And after losing his entire fortune, Warren Buffett rebuilt his wealth and became one of the world's most successfulinvestors. These stories illustrate that adversity can be a crucible that tests our limits and ultimately makes us stronger. By embracing the challenges that come our way, we develop the inner strength and resourcefulness necessary to navigate the complexities of life. Moreover, adversity can foster a sense of gratitude and purpose, as we recognize the preciousness of life and the importance of making a difference in the world.Of course, facing adversity is not always easy. It can be tempting to give up when the going gets tough. But it is precisely at these moments that we must summon our courage and determination. By persevering through adversity, we not only overcome our current challenges but also build a foundation for future success. As the Roman philosopher Seneca wrote, "Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body." When we confront our fears and push ourselves beyond our comfort zones, we cultivate resilience and develop a mindset thatembraces challenges. This mindset empowers us to handle future setbacks with greater ease and confidence.Ultimately, the true measure of a person lies not inthe absence of adversity, but in how they respond to it. By embracing adversity as an opportunity for growth and transformation, we can emerge stronger, wiser, and more compassionate individuals.中文回答:直面逆境。

Some people believe that college students should make full use of the resources on the Internet, while others hold the opposite view. Those who support the use of online resources argue that the Internet provides students with convenient access to a vast amount of information, which can help them broaden their knowledge and deepen their understanding of various subjects. Moreover, the Internet also offers various interactive platforms, such as online forums and study groups, where students candiscuss academic issues and exchange ideas with their peers. In this way, students can collaborate with others and learn from each other, which can enhance their learning efficiency. On the other hand, some people argue that college students should not rely too much on the Internet for their study. They believe that the Internet is full of misinformation and unreliable sources, which may mislead students and harm their academic performance. Additionally, spending too much time on the Internet can also distract students from their studies and reduce their concentration. In my opinion, college students should make full use of the resources on the Internet for their study, but they should also be cautious and critical when using online sources. They should verify the credibility of the information they find andcross-reference it with other reliable sources. Furthermore, students should not rely solely on online resources and should complement their study with traditional academic materials, such as textbooks and research papers. In conclusion, the Internet can be a valuable tool for college students to enhance their study, but it should be used wisely and responsibly. By combining online resources with traditionalstudy materials, students can maximize their learning outcomes and achieve academic success.Part BDirections: Write an essay of 350-400 words on the following topic. The impact of social media on interpersonal relationshipsIn recent years, social media has become an integral part of our daily lives, transforming the way we communicate and interact with others. While social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have made it easier for us to connect with people around the world, they have also raised concerns about their impact on interpersonal relationships. One of the major impacts of social media on interpersonal relationships is the blurring of boundaries between the public and private spheres. With the rise of social networking sites, people are more inclined to share personal information and intimate details of their lives online, blurring the line between what is shared with the public and what is kept private. This can lead to a lack of privacy and intimacy in relationships, as people may feel pressured to present a curated version of themselves on social media.Furthermore, social media has also changed the way we communicate with others, leading to a shift towards more superficial and less meaningful interactions. With the prevalence of text-based communication on platforms like Twitter and Snapchat, people may find it difficult to engage in deeper and more nuanced conversations. This can lead to a lack of genuine connection and understanding between individuals, asface-to-face interactions are replaced by digital conversations.Another concern is the impact of social media on the quality of relationships, as people may become overly reliant on online interactions and neglect their real-life connections. Studies have shown that excessive use of social media can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation, as people may prioritize their online relationships over their offline ones. This can have a negative impact on mental health and well-being, as personal connections are crucial for emotional support and social fulfillment.Despite these challenges, social media also has the potential to enhance interpersonal relationships and foster meaningful connections. Social media platforms can facilitate communication and collaboration between individuals, allowing them to stay in touch with friends and family members who are geographically distant. Moreover, social media can also be avaluable tool for building communities and fostering shared interests, as people can connect with like-minded individuals and engage in meaningful conversations.Overall, the impact of social media on interpersonal relationships is complex and multifaceted, with both positive and negative implications. While social media has the potential to enhance communication and connection between individuals, it also poses challenges in terms of privacy, intimacy, and the quality of relationships. To navigate these challenges, it is important for people to use social media responsibly and prioritize genuine, face-to-face interactions in their relationships. By striking a balance between online and offline connections, we can harness the benefits of social media while preserving the depth and authenticity of our interpersonal relationships.篇3I'm sorry, but I do not have access to specific 22nd and 23rd year English exam questions for the Guangdong Specialized Enrollment Examination (专插本) as those are confidential materials. 广东英语专插本作文历年真题范文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Big Dream of Becoming an English MasterHello everyone! My name is Xiao Ming and I'm a 5th grader. Today I want to share with you my big dream of becoming an amazing English speaker and writer. I love the English language so much!Ever since I was a little kid, I've always been fascinated by English. I remember watching cartoon shows dubbed in English and trying to repeat what the characters said. My parents told me those funny sounds I was making were called "English"! From then on, I wanted to learn more and more about this magical language. In kindergarten, we started having simple English lessons. The teacher taught us the ABCs, basic greetings, colors, numbers, and more. I picked it up really quickly and always looked forward to English class. While my classmates played games during recess, I would sometimes flip through my English books orpractice saying new words I had learned. English just came so naturally to me.When I entered elementary school, English became a major subject. Suddenly, there were so many new grammar rules, vocabulary words, readings, and writings to master. I'll be honest, it was pretty overwhelming at first. But I didn't let that discourage me. I worked really hard, studied diligently, and asked my teachers lots of questions. Slowly but surely, my English improved a ton.Nowadays, I'm at the top of my English class. I can read simple stories, write basic compositions, and converse in English pretty well. My teachers always praise me and say I have a bright future if I keep working hard at English. That makes me super proud and motivated to achieve my dream.Speaking of which, let me tell you about my big dream. One day, I want to become an English expert who is fluent in speaking, writing, reading and listening. I'll know more vocabulary words than anyone can count. I'll be able to analyze the deepest English novels and write scholarly essays. My English pronunciation will be perfect like a native speaker's. People will look up to me as a true master of the English language.I know this dream won't be easy to accomplish. There's still so much more for me to learn about English grammar, literature, writing, communication, and more. But I'm willing to work as hard as possible to get there. I'll read lots of books, watch plenty of English shows, take advanced classes, practice everyday, and never stop improving my skills. English will be my lifelong journey filled with passion and perseverance.Once I become an English master, I can do so many amazing things! I could become a translator and help people from different cultures understand each other. Or maybe an English teacher who inspires students like how my teachers inspired me.I could write the next classic English novel that gets studied for generations. Or perhaps a news reporter delivering important stories to English speakers across the world. The possibilities are endless when you truly master a language.More than anything though, I want to travel the globe and experience different countries and cultures through the English language. I'll be able to befriend people from totally different backgrounds and connect with them deeply through our shared English abilities. It'll be like having a "passport" to understanding our beautifully diverse world. How awesome is that?Well, those are my thoughts and dreams about English for now. Getting here hasn't been easy, but I know the journey ahead will be even harder. Still, my love for English will keep pushing me forward every step of the way. I'm determined to overcome any obstacle and one day achieve my biggest dream: becoming a true master of the English language. Just don't give up on your dreams, okay? Work hard, believe in yourself, and amazing things can happen. Thanks for listening, everyone!篇2My Big Dream of Learning EnglishHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm in 5th grade. Today I want to tell you all about my big dream of becoming amazing at English. It's a real big goal that I've had since I was a little kid.It all started when I was just a tiny little boy. My grandpa used to love watching old American cowboy movies with me. He didn't speak much English, but he would try his best to explain what was happening. Whenever the cowboys would shout "Yee-haw!" while riding horses, my grandpa would laugh and laugh. I thought it was the funniest thing ever! From then on, I got really curious about English and the cultures where people speak it. My parents started playingEnglish songs and TV shows for me. At first, I didn't understand anything. But slowly, I started picking up words here and there. Whenever I recognized a word, I would get so excited and proud of myself! In kindergarten, we had a foreign English teacher come by once a week. Miss Emily was from America and she was really nice. She taught us basic things like colors, numbers, and greetings. "Hello, how are you?" "I'm fine, thank you!" That kind of stuff. It felt like we were learning a secret code language! As I got older, English became my favorite subject in school. I was pretty good at it compared to my classmates. The alphabet songs and vocabulary games were just so much fun. My parents were super supportive too. They bought me tons of English storybooks and educational games. However, English is honestly quite hard for me. I can listen and read pretty well. But speaking and writing is really difficult. The grammar rules and pronunciations seem very confusing and different from Chinese. Lots of the words have multiple meanings too. There's still so much more for me to learn! That's why my big dream is to become fluent in English. I've heard of this cool program called "Guangdong Specialist English Education." It's supposed to be an advanced English course thatfocuses a lot on listening, speaking, and writing skills. The classes are all taught by native English teachers from overseas. How awesome is that?!Apparently, the program has an entrance exam each year. It's really competitive because there are limited spots. The test covers all kinds of English skills like reading comprehension, grammar, essay writing, oral presentations, and more. It definitely won't be easy, but I'm going to try my absolute hardest!I've been studying all the past test questions and exam materials for the Guangdong program. Things like analyzing poetry, public speaking practice, and opinion essays are really challenging for me still. But I'm improving little by little each day. My mom hired a private English tutor to help me too. We go over previous test papers and practice my weak areas. My ultimate goal is to get into the Guangdong Specialist English Education program in a couple years when I get to middle school. If I can study really hard and make it in, that would be the first huge step towards achieving my dream! The program accepts students all the way from middle school to high school. That means I'd get super intensive and advanced English training for many years. After completing that program, I could have excellent English abilities. Maybe I could find a job as a translator, English teacher, or even work for an international company! The opportunities would be endless with fluent English skills. I could travel the world, make foreign friends, and experience so many new cultures. How thrilling!Or who knows, maybe I'll even end up being an English writer or actor someday? That would be the ultimate dream come true for a kid who grew up loving those old English movies and storybooks. I have a long, long journey ahead of me. But I'm going to hang on tight to my goal no matter what challenges come my way. You've gotta chase your dreams, right?Well, that's my big dream of learning amazing English through the Guangdong program. It won't be easy, but I'm determined to make it happen. Wish me luck, and don't forget to always follow your dreams too! Thanks for reading my story. Oh, and one more thing..."Yee-haw!!"篇3My Favorite School DayHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm a student in primary school. Today I want to tell you about my favorite school day. It was a very special and fun day!It all started early in the morning. I woke up feeling really excited because I knew we had a field trip planned. After getting dressed and eating a yummy breakfast, I grabbed my backpack and ran to the school bus. All my classmates were there too, laughing and talking loudly. We were going to the science museum! When we arrived, I couldn't believe my eyes. The museum was huge, with dinosaur skeletons, space rockets, and all sorts of cool exhibits. Our teacher divided us into groups and gave each group an activity booklet to complete as we explored. The first place my group went was the dinosaur hall. We saw the skeleton of a mighty T-Rex and learned that it was an apex predator that lived millions of years ago. We drew pictures of it in our booklets. After that, we went to the space section and I got to sit in a pretend rocket ship! We pressed lots of buttons and made rocket launching sounds. It was a blast!Later, we attended a science demonstration where a friendly researcher did experiments with lasers, dry ice, and other neat stuff. She made a tiny cloud form right in front of us using thedry ice. When the laser hit the cloud, it turned into a rainbow of colors! We all clapped and cheered.Around lunchtime, we had a picnic outside on the grass. Our parents had packed us special lunches, so I got to eat my favorite dumplings and orange slices. After eating, we played tag and other running games to burn off some energy before going back inside. The rest of the afternoon was spent visiting the other exhibits like the earthquake simulator, the static electricity ball, and the mirror maze. We took so many notes and answered questions in our booklets. By the time we had to leave, I felt like a real scientist! On the bus ride back to school, I was tired but incredibly happy. I had learned so much new information in such a fun way. Science is definitely my favorite subject after that field trip! I can't wait to go back to the museum again someday. When I got home, I excitedly told my parents all about the dinosaurs, the rocket ship, the rainbow laser, and the other cool things we did. They seemed really impressed and proud of me for being such an excellent student. That night at bedtime, I looked through my finished activity booklet and all the pictures and notes I had taken. I felt so accomplished! The science museum field trip was certainly the best school day I've ever had. I'll never forget the amazing sights and experiences. I hope every school day could be as fun and educational as that one!The end! Thanks for reading about my superb school day. Being a student sure is great, especially when you get to go on awesome field trips! Let me know if you'd like to hear about any other exciting days I've had. See you next time!篇4My Favorite Things About English ClassEnglish class is my favorite subject in school! I love learning the English language and all the fun activities we get to do. Let me tell you about some of the coolest things we've done in English this year.At the start of the year, we learned about introducing ourselves. We practiced saying our names, ages, favorite colors and foods. I can still remember how to introduce myself:"Hello, my name is Xiao Ming. I'm 8 years old. My favorite color is green and my favorite food is dumplings."After that, we moved on to learning basic phrases like "How are you?", "I'm fine, thank you", and "Nice to meet you." My best friend Xiao Li and I would practice these phrases together during recess. We thought it was so funny sounding! One of the highlights was when our teacher brought in pictures of different animals and we had to name them in English.I wasn't expecting ducks, cats, and elephants to have such weird names like "duck", "cat", and "elephant"! We played a fun game where our teacher would hold up a picture and we had to quack, meow, or make the animal sound to guess what it was. We all quacked like crazy when the duck picture came up.Speaking of games, we played a ton of them to practice our English. My favorite was this running game where our teacher would call out a color and we had to run and stand on the circle mat with that color. Whoever was the last one standing had to say a sentence using the color word. I got really good at saying things like "The sky is blue" and "I like red apples." Games made practicing English feel like no work at all!Another time, our teacher brought in all these random objects like a pencil, a water bottle, a stuffed animal. We had togo around the class saying what each object was in English. When it was my turn, I was a little nervous, but I got most of them right. It was really satisfying to be able to say "pencil", "water bottle", and "teddy bear" out loud.We also learned about family members and how to describe them. We drew pictures of our families and labeled each person - "mother", "father", "brother", "sister", etc. Then we got to present our family drawings and descriptions to the class. I talked all about my mom, dad, grandparents, and little sister. Presenting in English was hard at first, but I got the hang of it by the end.My absolute favorite activity, though, was when we read short, simple storybooks out loud together as a class. Our teacher would go through the pages and we would repeat each sentence after her. I loved following along and sounding out words like "cat", "hat", "sat", and "mat." The stories were pretty silly but so much fun to read along with. Whenever our teacher asked us what happened next, I was always waving my hand to share what I thought would happen.Of course, we couldn't just do fun activities all the time. We also had to do worksheets, write sentences, and take quizzes. I actually didn't mind that much since the quizzes had picturesand everything was still pretty basic. As long as I paid attention in class, I could follow along.English is such an interesting language, and I'm excited to keep learning more. Maybe I'll be able to read longer stories, write paragraphs, and have conversations entirely in English by the end of the year! That would be so cool.I know English is supposed to be one of the harder subjects, but I don't find it too difficult yet. With the fun activities, engaging lessons, and opportunities to practice speaking, English class has been an awesome experience so far. My teacher makes it easy and enjoyable to learn.I can't wait to see what other exciting things we get to do in English class this year. I'm going to work really hard and hopefully become an English pro! Who knows, maybe I'll grow up to be an English teacher myself one day. For now, I'm just happy to be learning this neat new language. Bring on more English, I say!篇5Title: My Big Dream of Becoming an English ExpertHi friends! My name is Little Danny and I'm going to tell you about my big dream. I really, really want to become an amazing English expert when I grow up! Learning English is just so much fun.You see, English is like a magic key that can open up the whole wide world for me. With English, I can make friends from different countries, read awesome stories from overseas, watch cool movies and shows, and even travel around the globe! How amazing is that?I started learning English when I was just a little kid in kindergarten. At first, it felt really strange and difficult. The ABC's didn't make any sense and words like "photosynthesis" were impossible to pronounce! But my English teacher, Miss Laura, was really nice and patient. She used lots of fun games, songs and activities to make learning English feel like playtime rather than studytime.Slowly but surely, I started picking up more and more English words and phrases. Before I knew it, I could understand simple stories and even put together my own basic sentences! That's when the magic really began to happen. With each new English word I learned, it felt like a新door opened up for me into an exciting new world. Reading my firstEnglish storybook was like being transported into a magical realm of dragons, wizards and talking animals. Watching an English cartoon opened my eyes to funny new jokes and hilarious characters. That's what makes English so awesome - it gives you a look into how other people think and see the world. As I moved up to elementary school, English just kept getting better and better. We had an English corner where we could practice conversing. We put on teeny tiny plays fully in English. We even took teeny tiny field trips to English bookstores and restaurants! My English skills篇6Guangdong English Test CompositionsHi everyone! My name is Little Wang and I am a primary school student. Today I want to talk about the Guangdong English test compositions. Every year we have to write a big essay for this test. The topics are always different but they can be really fun to write about!Last year, the topic was "My Favorite Movie". I wrote all about how my favorite movie is The Lion King. I love the story about little Simba the lion cub who has to grow up and become the king of the animal kingdom. The movie has so many greatsongs too like "Hakuna Matata" and "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". I described all the exciting parts like when Simba fights his evil uncle Scar at the end. My teacher said I did a really good job making my love for the movie clear in the essay. The year before that, the topic was "If I Could Have Any Superpower". I chose to write about having the power of invisibility. I said it would be awesome to be invisible so I could sneak up and prank my friends and family. I could also sneak into movies and restaurants without paying! But I also wrote about how I would use my power to help people too, like stopping bad guys from robbing banks and stores. I would be an invisible superhero protector! My concluding paragraph was about using powers responsibly. One time the topic was "My Favorite Holiday". I loved writing that essay because I got to discuss all the fun traditions my family has for Chinese New Year. We have a huge feast with dumplings and noodles and other delicious foods. I wrote all about the red decorations we put up and how we get money in red envelopes from our relatives. The best part is no school for two whole weeks! At the end I talked about why family is the most important part of the holiday.Another cool topic was "If You Could Go Anywhere, Where Would You Go?" I said I would want to go to a magical place full of creatures like unicorns and dragons! I described what it would look like with rainbow waterfalls and forests full of friendly talking animals. I would fly around on a pegasus' back and explore all the places. My journey would be sort of like the Narnia books. I tried to make my fantasy world sound as vivid and incredible as possible in my words.Sometimes the prompts are about more serious things too. Like once I had to write "What I Want To Be When I Grow Up". I said I haven't fully decided yet, but I'm considering being a doctor because I want to help make people healthy. Or maybe a scientist so I can invent new amazing things. Or a teacher because I love learning and want。

The Challenges and Opportunities of Guangdong Intercalated Bachelor's DegreeProgramsIn the realm of higher education in China, the Guangdong Intercalated Bachelor's Degree Program, commonly known as "Cha Ben," has emerged as a unique andincreasingly popular path for students seeking to further their academic pursuits. This innovative program offers an alternative route to obtaining a bachelor's degree, bridging the gap between associate degrees and traditional four-year undergraduate programs. However, this path is not without its challenges and opportunities. One of the primary challenges facing students pursuing the Cha Ben route is the rigorous academic requirements. The program demands a high level of academic performance and commitment, as students must complete both undergraduate and associate degree courses in a compressed timeframe. This can be a daunting task, particularly for those who may lack the necessary academic preparation or time management skills. Moreover, the competitive nature of the Cha Ben programs adds another layer of complexity. With limited spots available, students must compete with peers who are often academically strong and well-prepared. The selection process can be highly competitive, and only the most qualified candidates are admitted into the program.Despite these challenges, the Guangdong Intercalated Bachelor's Degree Program presents numerous opportunities for personal and academic growth. For instance, it offers students the flexibility to pursue their passions and interests while simultaneously earning a degree. This flexibility allows students to customize their educational journey, exploring different fields and disciplines that may not be available through traditional undergraduate programs.Additionally, the Cha Ben program fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among students. As they navigate the rigorous academic requirements together, students form strong bonds and support systems that can be invaluable in their academic and personal development. Moreover, the program prepares students for the demands of the job market. With the increasing competitiveness of the job market, employers often prefer candidates with diverse academic backgrounds and practical experience. The Cha Ben program, by its nature, equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, making them more competitive in the job market. In conclusion, the Guangdong Intercalated Bachelor's Degree Program presents both challenges and opportunities for students seeking to further their academic pursuits. While the program demands rigorous academic performance and competitiveness, it also offers flexibility, community, and preparation for the job market. By navigating these challenges and seizing the opportunities, students can emerge from the program as academically accomplished and well-rounded individuals, ready to take on the challenges of the future.**广东插本英语作文的挑战与机遇**在中国的高等教育领域,广东插本(Cha Ben)已成为学生追求更高学术成就的独特且日益流行的途径。

广东专插本英语历年英语作文真题My Life as an Elementary StudentHi there! My name is Lily and I'm a 10-year-old student in the 5th grade. I love going to school and learning new things every day. Let me tell you all about my life as an elementary student!A Typical DayMy day usually starts at around 6:30 am when my mom comes into my room and gently wakes me up. I get dressed, brush my teeth, and head to the kitchen for a yummy breakfast. My favorite is waffles with strawberries and whipped cream! After breakfast, my mom packs a healthy lunch for me with a sandwich, fruits, veggies, and a juice box.At 7:30 am, I put on my backpack and walk to the bus stop near my house. The school bus arrives at 7:45 am sharp and I hop on, waving bye to my mom. On the bus, I chat and laugh with my friends. We talk about the latest movies, video games, or whatever is on our minds that day.School starts at 8:15 am and the first class is usually math or language arts. I really enjoy math because I'm good at solvingproblems and using logic. Language arts is fun too as we get to read creative stories and write our own compositions. We have a short snack break at 10 am where I munch on an apple or granola bar from my lunchbox. Then it's time for science, social studies, or an elective class like art, music or P.E. I especially love P.E. as I get to run around and play games with my classmates. The lunch period is at 12 pm and I head to the cafeteria with my friends. We have decent food like pizza, burgers, or pasta but my homemade lunch is usually better! After lunch, we have recess for 30 minutes where I can let off some energy on the playground before afternoon classes. In the afternoon, we have more core classes like science or social studies. Sometimes we watch educational videos or do fun experiments. My favorite was when we built volcano models and made them "erupt" with baking soda and vinegar! At 3 pm, it's finally time to go home. I board the bus and it drops me off near my house around 3:30 pm. As soon as I get home, I have a snack like graham crackers with peanut butter or apple slices while telling my parents about my day. After my snack, I start on my homework which usually takes 1-2 hours. I try to finish it before dinner so I can relax and play afterwards. Sometimes I have tests or projects to study for too.In the evenings, I love playing outside if the weather is nice. My friends and I ride our bikes, jump on the trampoline, or play freeze dance and tag. If it's raining, we play video games or board games inside. My bedtime is at 9 pm but before that, I take a warm bath or shower. I also read books that I borrowed from the school library. Then I snuggle under my covers while my mom reads me a bedtime story until I drift off to sleep.School Breaks and ActivitiesWhile I do enjoy going to school, I absolutely love when we have breaks or holidays! During winter break in December, my family and I love driving around neighborhoods to see all the beautiful Christmas light displays. We also bake lots of yummy treats like cookies and hot chocolate. For spring break in April, we sometimes go on a trip to a new city or state park. Last year, we went camping and hiked some trails through the woods. We also had a fun Easter egg hunt in the backyard. My favorite break is summer vacation which lasts for 2-3 months. I get to go to summer camp for a few weeks where I do awesome activities like swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, and performing camp skits or songs. The rest of summer, I spend quality time with my family going to the beach, barbecues, or the movies. When I'm not on break, I also participate in after-school activities a few days per week. On Mondays, I take a dance class where I'm learning ballet, jazz, and hip hop dance styles. Tuesdays are for my art class where we get to paint, draw,。
