1. live /liv/ v. 住，生活
live 是不及物动词，后面跟介词in或at。

①live in 住在……（后接国家或城市名称)
②live at 住在……（后接小的地方，如确切地址）
③live on表示“靠…生存”、“以…为食”
Where do you live? 你住在哪里？
I live in Greece. 我住在希腊。

She lives in Nanjing. 她住在南京。

John lives at 34 Lemon Street. 约翰住在柠檬大街34号。

Tigers live on meat. 老虎以肉为食。

Mrs. Smith lives near the butcher’s. 史密斯太太住在肉店附近。

2. stay /stei/ v. 停留
I stay at my mother’s house on Sundays. 我在周日待在我妈妈家。

Don’t stay with me! 别和我待在一块儿！
Bob is staying in bed because he feels ill. 鲍勃正卧床休息，因为他感觉不舒服。

I often stay very late at the office. 我经常在办公室待到很迟。

*stay和live的区别:
stay 是临时、短时间的居住。

live 是长久地居住或住在自己家里。

3.home/həum/ n.家adv. 在家；到家；往家
I must find a home for the dog. 我必须为这只狗找个家。

This is my home. 这是我的家。

Stay at home and don’t go out at night! 夜里待在家，别外出!
Come home and help me with the housework. 回家帮我做家务。

What time does Mr. Smith arrive home? 史密斯先生几点到家？
We’re home. 我们到家了。

Welcome home. 欢迎回家。

4.lunch/lʌntʃ/ n. 午饭
What’s for lunch? 午饭吃什么？
What time do you have lunch? 你几点吃午饭？
We’re having lunch at Mr. Zhang’s. 我们正在张先生家吃午饭。

Let’s have a big lunch here. 让我们在这儿吃一顿丰盛的午餐吧。

There is no time for lunch. 没时间吃午饭了。

5. arrive /ə'raiv/ v. 到达
*arrive in +大地方arrive in Nanjing 到达南京
arrive at +小地方arrive at the station到达车站
When does he arrive home? 他何时到家？
Does your husband arrive home early or late? 你丈夫到家是早还是迟？
The train is arriving. 火车快到了。

Can you tell me how to arrive there? 你能告诉我怎样到那里吗？
6. together /tə'geðə/ adv. 一起
Miss King and Miss White usually go to work together.金小姐和怀特小姐通常一起去上班。

They like playing basketball together after schoo l. 他们喜欢放学后一起打篮球。

The police are walking north together. 警察们正一起向北走。

7. usually / 'ju:ʒuəli/ adv.通常
I usually go to school by bus (on a bus). 我通常乘公交车去上学。

What do you usually do in the evening? 你晚上通常做什么？
She usually plays the violin after school. 她通常在放学后拉小提琴。

8. housework /'hauswək/ n. 家务（不可数名词）
Susan does the housework after six every day. 苏珊每天在六点后做家务。

The old man can’t do too much housework. 这位老人不能做太多家务。

9. night /nait/ n.夜里
* at night 在夜里
on a rainy/windy/snowy night 在一个下雨的/刮风的/下雪的夜晚Don’t go out at night. 别在夜间外出。

You must stay at home at night. 你夜里必须待在家里。
