One of the reasons why people are drawn to disaster movies is the thrill of the unknown. We never know what's going to happen next and how the characters will react to the situation. It's like a rollercoaster ride we know it's not real, but we still get a rush of adrenaline.
Another reason is the human element. We get to see how ordinary people react in extraordinary situations. We see their bravery, their fear, their love for their families and friends, and their will to survive. It's inspiring to see how people can come together in times of crisis and
help each other.
However, some people argue that disaster movies can be harmful because they create a sense of fear and paranoia. They argue that these movies can make people more anxious about the future and less likely to take risks.
Personally, I think disaster movies are a form of entertainment and should be taken as such. They can be a great way to escape from reality for a few hours and enjoy a thrilling story. As long as we don't take them too seriously and remember that they are just movies, I don't think they can do any harm.
