Good morning ladies and gentlemen,
Today I am honored to stand here to share with you the importance of being a civilized messenger.
What is a civilized messenger? It is a person who is friendly, considerate and honest in his or her relationships and interactions with others. It is someone who recognizes the values of their own culture and the cultures of others. And it
is someone who is willing and able to bridge the gaps between different cultures, countries and people.
In today's world, it is increasingly important for us to serve as civilized messengers. With so much global migration, a vast variety of cultural beliefs, and a growing number of negative stereotypes, it is more important than ever to bridge the gaps between different cultures.
By being a civilized messenger, we can respond to cultural misunderstandings and clashes with tolerance, understanding, and appreciation. We can be part of the solution to our world's problems.
I am sure we all remember the attacks on 9/11 and the ensuing popular backlash against Muslims worldwide. We must remember that such acts of violence are not representative of a whole faith or culture. We must strive to look beyond the hate
that is spread and celebrate our differences in a peaceful way. Every one of us has the power to reach out and make a positive difference.
We must also remember that a civilized messenger is an example to others. When we demonstrate civility and respect in our personal interactions, others will be inspired to do the same. We must set an example for others to follow, and strive to be the best that we can be.
Finally, being a civilized messenger also means being a responsible global citizen. We must be active participants in environmental initiatives, such as reducing our carbon footprint and participating in green initiatives. We must also work to promote human rights, and be advocates for those whose voices are not heard.
