《外贸询单英语范文》
Hey there! I'm gonna share with you a really interesting story about my experience with a foreign trade inquiry.
So, I work for this small but super ambitiouspany. One day, my bosses up to me and says, "You know, we've got this new product line, and we need to see if there's any interest overseas. You're in charge of sending out some inquiries." I'm like, "Me? But I'm not that good at English business stuff yet!" But he just gives me this look and says, "You'll figure it out."
So, I start looking at potential suppliers overseas. I find this onepany in the UK that looks really promising. Their website has all these cool products that seem like they could be a great fit for our new line.
I sit down at my desk, take a deep breath, and start writing my first-ever foreign trade inquiry in English. I'm thinking to myself, "Okay, how do I start this? Do I just say 'Hello' like I'm chatting with a friend?" Well, I decide to be a bit more formal.
I write, "Dear Sir/Madam," and then I introduce myself and mypany. I say, "I'm [my name] from pany name]. We're a small but growingpany here in [my country]. We've recently launched a new product line, and we're really interested in your products on your website."
Then I get to the nitty - gritty. I describe the products we're interested in in as much detail as I can. I'm like, "We're especially interested in those really cool [product name] with the [specific feature]. You know, the ones that look like they could be used for [describe the possible use]. I saw them on your website, and I just thought they were amazing."
I also ask about the price. I write, "Could you please give me an idea of the price range for these products? We need to make sure it fits within our budget. And also, what would be the minimum order quantity? We don't want to order too much at first, just in case things don't go as planned."
I end the email with, "Thank you very much for your time. I'm looking forward to your reply. Sincerely, [my name]."
A few days later, I'm sitting at my desk, just going about my normal work, when I see an email pop up in my inbox. It's from the UKpany! I get all excited and open it right away.
The person who replied was named John. He writes, "Hello [my name], thank you for your inquiry. It's great to hear from you. Regarding the products you mentioned, we do have a few different options in terms of [product feature] that might be of interest to you."
He then goes on to give me some price ranges. He says, "The price for the basic model is around [price amount], but if you want the ones with the additional [extra feature], it would be a bit more, about [higher price amount]."
I'm reading this and thinking, "Okay, this seems reasonable, but I need to double - check with my boss." So, I go to my boss's office and show him the email. My boss reads it and says, "Hmm, that's not too bad. But ask him if they can offer any discounts for a first - time order."
So, I go back to my desk and write another email to John. I say, "Dear John, thank you for your reply. The prices seem quite reasonable. However, since we're a new customer, I was wondering if there's any possibility of a discount for our first - time order? We're really excited about your products and would love to start a long - term business relationship with you."
And then I wait again. It's like this back - and - forth dance of emails. A couple of days later, John replies again. He says, "Hello again [my name]. We understand your situation. We can offer you a 5% discount on your first - time order if you can confirm the order within the next two weeks."
I'm super happy with this reply. I run back to my boss's office and tell him the news. My boss is also really pleased. He says, "Great job! Now we need to work out the details of the order."
So, that's my story about my first foreign trade inquiry in English. It was a bit nerve - wracking at first, but it all worked out in the end. And now I'm not as scared of writing these kinds of inquiries anymore. I've learned that it's all about being clear, polite, and not being afraid to ask questions.。
