Change in People’s Diet
In the past five yeas, some changes have taken place in people’s diet. Grain, as the principle food
of most Chinese, is now playing a less important role. On the contrary, the proportion of milk and meat has increased.
What has caused these changes then? The main reason, I think, lies in the fact that people’s living standard has been improved. With the development of our country, people are becoming better off, which enables them to get more nutritious food such as meat and milk. Meanwhile, the consumption of grain kept dropping in these years.
Seen from the chart, we can safely draw the conclusion that our society is progressing and people are living a better life than before. We look forward to a further change in people’s diet. In the future, the proportion of milk and meat is likely to go on increasing, so is the percentage of fruit and vegtables.。
