Traditional Chinese Medicine ---- TCM (中医) is a minor course being learned in primary schools in Zhejiang Province. And there are no exams on this subject. An official from the local education department told people the news a few days ago.
Textbooks for the course were produced under the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. And the contents of textbooks have been reviewed by education authorities. The official also said that the measure aims at developing traditional culture. Traditional Chinese Medicine has a long history in China. At the same time, the culture of Traditional Chinese Medicine influences quite a few generations.
In April, the primary schools in Zhejiang Province used a set of Traditional Chinese Medicine textbooks. Zhejiang became the pioneer in teaching the subject to pupils in the country. After that, many primary schools began to set up the course of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
There are 36 lessons for the fifth-grade students. The textbooks include basic knowledge of TCM, acupuncture (针灸疗法) and massage therapies (按摩疗法). The course has been welcomed by many parents and students. A mother in Jiaxing said, “I hope this course will help my daughter form healthier living habits than before. The first Starbucks (星巴克) coffee shop opened in 1971 in downtown Seattle, Washington, in the USA. It was a small coffee shop that cooked its own coffee beans. The coffee shop’s business did well, and by 1981 there were three Starbucks stores in Seattle.
Things really began to change for the company in 1981. That year, Howard
Schultz met the three men who ran Starbucks. Schultz noticed that Starbucks ordered
a large number of special coffee makers, which caused his great interest. Schultz went
