关于餐桌礼仪的英语作文
Table Manners。
Table manners are a set of rules that govern the way we behave when we are eating at a table. Good table manners are important because they show respect for the people around us and help us to avoid embarrassing situations. Here are some tips for good table manners.
1. Sit up straight and keep your elbows off the table. This shows that you are paying attention and that you are interested in the conversation.
2. Use your utensils properly. Hold your knife and fork correctly and use them to cut and eat your food. Don't use your fingers to pick up food unless it is meant to be eaten that way.
3. Chew with your mouth closed. This is a basic rule of table manners that everyone should know. No one wants to
see what you are chewing.
4. Don't talk with your mouth full. Wait until you have finished chewing before you speak. This will prevent you from spitting food out or choking.
5. Use a napkin. Keep a napkin on your lap and use it to wipe your mouth or hands if necessary. Don't use your shirt or pants to wipe your mouth.
6. Wait for everyone to be served before you start eating. This shows respect for other people and allows everyone to start eating at the same time.
7. Pass food to the left. If there is food on the table that needs to be passed around, pass it to the person on your left. This is a common rule of table manners.
8. Don't reach across the table. If you need something that is out of reach, ask someone to pass it to you. Don't reach across the table and grab it yourself.
9. Say "please" and "thank you". If someone passes you something or serves you food, say "please" and "thank you". This shows that you appreciate their help.
10. Don't make noise while you eat. Don't slurp your soup or chew loudly. This is considered impolite and can be distracting to other people.
In conclusion, good table manners are important for showing respect for others and avoiding embarrassing situations. By following these tips, you can improve your table manners and make a good impression on the people around you.。
