U1My First Day on the CampusI still remember the day when i first came to the college. being a boy of 17, i was longing for a new life as a college student; but, at the same time, I had no idea what college life would belike.that morning when the bus carried me to the gate of the college. I was so excited that my heart was beating very fast as if it would leap out of my mouth. from now on, I would be a student of this college. after registration, we were led by an instructor to the dormitory, where, for the first time, we were going to live without parents but roommates. i was so clumsy that i did not know how to make the bed and fix the mosquito net.in the afternoon, i took a walk around the campus together with my roommates. to think of studying in such a beautiful place made me feel quite proud of myself. as we were walking along, talking and laughing, a voice came into our ears, "oh, look at these freshmen!" it was our middle-school-students' looking that gave us away. we continued our tour of the college, inspecting every building and every garden until the sun began to set.in the evening, we sat together, talking about the past and the future. we were so excited that no one wanted to go to bed.My First Day on the CampusThree years ago, I was a fresh in campus. I still remember how nervous and tired the day was. When I think of this day, I will feel it is one of my most important days I’ve ever experienced. But I was very happy. The appeal to me of my new life is quite obvious. To my strange, our instructor forbad students’ parents arranging the luggage. After te parents all went out, he told us that we had to do everything on our own.I was so nervous that I didn’t know anyone in my dormitory. I can’t find any one to help me. I felt that I was like a duck in a thunderstorm. In such a new, strange university, formerly simple solutions to making the bed become complicated. I sat on my bed and saw my new roommates arranging their luggage with unfamiliar skill. I realized that I must be independent from now on.Then I tried myself to do the arrangement. Though it was a little difficult, I still made effort to do it. It took me a lot of time to place my suitcase on the shelf. After I managed to do it, I found that I was so tired that I even couldn’t raise my hands.The time is passing quickly, I am a junior student now. When the first day appearing in front of my eyes, I still feel it happened not long ago. Now, I can do all the arrangement by myself and build deep fr iendship between our roommates and me. I don’t be nervous any more. When I am in the dormitory, I feel I am stay in my family. I pride myself on my independence!U2A Person Who Impressed MeMy former English is the person who impressed me a lot.He is handsome and humous.His teaching style is suitable for teenerage.With his help,we all have made great progress.He built up our confidence.He used to say we were the best.U3My Experience of Leaning EnglishIn high school, I studied English well and got high mark. Then I chosen to be an English major student. Now I even have a dream of becoming a good translator and working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. So much I like studying English . Because it gives me a chance to see the world in a different light and contact with the western cultures more freely and directly.But no one knows, in the beginning I had not a little talent in it. When I was Grade 1, my mother enrolled me in an English class. After one term, however, I couldn’t even express “hello” or “goodbye”, to say nothing about other phrases. My mother was so disappointed and I were frustrated by the fact, either. I thought I was too stupid to study a new language and afraid of it for a long time.After that, I spent much time learning English and kept myself doing a lot of assignments though I hadn’t any confidence to myself until Grade 8. But one time, by chance, in our text paper I saw the same context as the assignment I had ever done before. Undoubtfully , I got the high mark in this exam and ranked the NO.1! Many teachers and classmates began to notice my English and spoke highly of me. Though I told them again and again that I had done the similar assignments before, they just thought I was humility. Their expection made me nervous but more confident. I began to regard myself as one of the best students and became more strict to myself. As a result, my English had proved fast since this experience. In the high school entrance examination, I got the mark of 147 and was admitted by the best high school in our province. And in the college entrance examination 3 years later, I got the mark of 131. Although I couldn’t compare with the top students, the experience gave me a lesson. Confidence had a psychology power and it would help us approach success. However difficult the problems we met, we should believe ourselves and become brave.In high school and university, the study of English is much more smooth then before. I not only study English in school, but began to learn the New Concept English by myself as well. Every day I read after the tape to improve my pronunciation. What’s more, I often watch the English Competition. I appreciate the winners very much and their performance encourages me to insist on my study. English has become part of my life. Of course, sometimes I feel tired and boring about it. At this time, I will imagine that I had become an excellent translator and the exciting life style I will have. The method cheers me up.In a word, learning English is a difficult progress. Where is the perseverance ,where is the success.U4My Opinion on whether experiments should conducted on animals for the benefits of human beingNowadays, experimental usage of animal has become a widely concerned issue around the world. People hold diverse views towards it.Adversaries claim that it is an extremely crude behavior. Animals, especially mammals, like dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, which are the major victims in the experimentation, are usually human’s pets. Pet owners are strongly against it for they firmly believe that anim als sufferphysically and mentally as we do. When equality is advocated in the modern world, it is inhuman to disrespect creatures that are not human beings.Furthermore, a number of experts pointed out that it would be at high stake of depending on the results of animal experiment; since they differ from us in many ways. Take the body structure for example, we can’t imagine humans try to jump from the height of nine stories without any protection because cats survive out of the same test.Those in favor of the idea about usage of animal declare that using animal is an advisable choice. On one hand because their bodies are similar in function to ours. For instance, they catch colds, suffer from stomachs and heart diseases, which more importantly influenced by diet and habits. The consequences of the test may not be applied to humans, although they are highly connected to the human situations. On the other hand, those creatures yell and act abnormally when they feel uncomfortable, which is what exactly researchers expect. In addition, there is an easy-to-answer question: isn’t it crueler to test directly on people with little knowledge on the objects’ effects? In a word, there is nothing better than animal that resemble human the best for experiment.Personally, I am not a supporter of animal experiments, yet there is anything more suitable can replace them, I accept using animals for tests, but take good care of them when they are not in the laboratory.U5My Hometown范文一：My home is in a town.
