事讲的是他从风暴中营救水手，帮助小孩和送礼物给穷人。

①save sb./sth. from sth/doing sth 挽救；援救；保全某人/（免受伤害损失等）
Eg. He saved a girl from drowning yesterday. 昨天他救了一名溺水女孩。

②gift “礼物”=present；还有“天赋；天才”的意思，常用词组 have a gift for …
Eg. My son has a gift for music.我儿子有音乐天赋。

③用作名词的形容词叫做名词化的形容词。

名词化的形容词常与定冠词连用，泛指一类人，表示复数概
念；还可指抽象概念，作主语用单数动词
Eg. The old are living a happier life.
The beautiful can never die. 美是不朽的。

来越多。

over, 此处的意思是，“贯穿（一段时间）；在…期间”，相当于 during

3. Another American poem gave Santa a ninth reindeer: Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer.
另一首美国诗给了Santa又一匹驯鹿：鲁道夫，红鼻子的驯鹿。

①序数词前多用定冠词the, 但表示“又一，再一”时，需用不定冠词an或a.

②red-nosed 红鼻子的，形容词。
