Teaching objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. Pronounce the words correctly.
2. Recite the new words with Chinese meanings.
Teaching contents: new vocabulary of this unit.
Teaching aids: tapes, blackboard, chalk,
Tape of the lesson: vocabulary, speaking and writing
Teaching procedures:
Step1 a) Teacher let students turn to page 112 and look at the word list.
b) Pronounce the new words line by line.
c) Follow the tape and check your pronunciation.
d) Teacher gives students 10 minutes to learn it by themselves.
e) Make students listen to the tape and check if they can read the words correctly, underline
the words which they cannot pronounce or pronounce correctly.
f) Teacher plays the recording and asks students check their pronunciations.
Step2. Students read the words by themselves. Teacher gives them 5 minutes and teacher will check their work.
a) Students read the new words, the teacher walk around the classroom and check if the
students can read the words well.
b) The teacher shows the new words on the PPT, students close books and check by
themselves then check with their desk mates..
c) Teacher checks the pronunciations especially the poor students. And teacher should teach
the difficult words.
Step3. Remember the new words.
Students learn by themselves
a) Students remember the new words.
b) Students can use different ways to remember the new words..
c) Teacher teaches:
1. Teach some difficult words.
2. Practice in class
3. Have a dictation and ask students to write the new words on the exercise books.
4. Teacher checks.
Optional activities and homework:
Optional activity: work in pairs, one student speaks and the other writes it down.

Step1.Daily greeting and review(2’)

Complete Activity 1a (6’)
a) First let the students discuss the pictures and then ask the students to make a list of the
different weekend activities..
b) Next let two students talk about their own weekend activities and tell them my activities on
weekend.
c) Finally the teacher writes the activities on the blackboard and show these pictures on PPT,
Teach them and let the students read loudly.
Step3.Listening practice (8’)
a) Listen to the 1b twice .write the letters from the pictures. After the listening, learn the 6
words and explain these words.
b)Listen again and let them repeat it loudly.
Students read loudly the listening materials for3 minutes.
Step4 Present conversations. (5’)
a) Work in pair and read the conversation.
A: What do you usually do on weekends? B: I usually go to the movies.
A: How often do you watch TV? B: I watch TV once a week.
b) According that conversation then makes the new conversations, and teacher ask several pairs
of students to practice it.
Step5 Listening practice :( 8’)
a) Listen to the tape 2a and 2b twice. First number the activities ,then match the activities with
the numbers of times.
b) Open the book and listen again and repeat loudly.
c) Students read the listening materials loudly together for 3 minutes’
Step6 Presentation (10’)
Do activity 2c.First let the students fill the chart, and then make their own dialogues according to the given conversation.
Step7.Role—play
a) First, teacher will explain the conversation to the students, some words and sentences
structures, t
b) Students will read the conversations followed by teacher,.
c) Students read it by themselves and work in pairs to play the conversation.

a) Warm up: Teacher will show some pictures about some foods and tell the students what she usually eat in the morning.

Step2 Learn 1a and 1b (15’)
a)Teacher teaches the new words about 1a and let students read it together.
b)Give students 2 minutes to match it
c)Ask some students to tell us his answers .
d)Teacher checks the answers and students read it together again.
e)Teacher read 1b and students follow it and then teacher give students 3minutes
to make a new dialogue by using the new words of 1a.
f)Teacher asks several groups to share their dialogues with us.
Step3 Listen to the tape and then finish 1c, 1d and 1c (20’)
a)First, listen to the tape and then circle the two questions to check is Bill (Tina)
healthy.
b)Listen twice, and fill the blanks in the survey.
c)Teacher asks three students to write their answers on the blackboard, and then
teacher check the answers.
d)Teachers and students listen together, teacher explain it.
Step4 Role—play to practice 1e
a).work in pair, two students a group, student is a reporter and student B is Tina or
Bill, Ask and answer questions .Then change roles.
b) Teacher asks several groups to play it by competition.
c) Teacher gives surprises to these students who won it.
