摘要：PURPOSE:To easily alter the torque characteristic of a single-phase induction motor by so mounting a magnetic wedge as to vary a magnetic resistance. CONSTITUTION:A stator 3 has at least 2-pole pieces 4 projected from a circular yoke 5 at an equal interval circumferentially toward a rotor 1. A long platelike magnetic wedge 6 attached between the ends 4b of the pole pieces is formed of a magnetic material having a relatively large magnetic resistance, such as an iron plate and has a width slightly smaller than the interval of the bottoms of the longitudinal grooves 4c of the end 4b of the pole piece. The wedge 6 is provided with a mounting recess 6a made of a through hole and a detachable portion 6b at one side end thereof in the longitudinal direction. The wedges 6 of a plurality of types 6A-6c of magnetic resistances are prepared. A wedge base 7 with a wedge inserting guide 7a and a mounting projection 7b formed in an inserting guide 76 is provided on a motor base.
