题目:阅读教学试讲
By chance I came across an article about a doctor called Lin Qiaozhi, a specialist in women's diseases. She lived from 1901 to 1983. It seemed that she had been very busy in her chosen career, travelling abroad to study as well as writing books and articles. One of them caught my eye.
It was a small book explaining how to cut the death rate from having and caring for babies. She gave some
simple rules to follow for keeping babies clean, healthy and free from sickness. Why did she write that? Who were the women that Lin Oiaozhi thought needed this advice?
I looked carefully at the text and realized that it was intended for women in the countryside. Perhaps if they had an emergency they could not reach a doctor.

Teaching procedure:
Step 1: Warming-up
Greet the students.
Show students some pictures of some great people and ask them to think about the following questions:
Who are they and what are their outstanding contribution?
Step 2: Pre-reading
Show students some words and expressions that
appear in this passage and ask them to predict what the passage may talk about according to these.
Step 3: While-reading
Fast reading:
Teacher reads the passage, students get the main idea, then invite some of them to share their ideas.
Careful reading:
Ask students to read the passage as soon as quickly in order to answer the following questions:
What was Lin Qiaozhi busy for in her chosen career? What was the book about and Why did she write that? Who were the women that Lin Qiaozhi thought needed this advice?
Step4: Post-reading
Ask students to retell the passage according to the key details on the screen in their own words and give evaluation.
Step 5: Summary
Ask one student to summarize the content of this lesson and tell them to admire the great people.
Step 6: Homework
Ask students to search the Internet for more information about Lin Oiaozhi and try to write a short passage to introduce it.

Step 1: Warming-up
Good morning boys and girls. How are you today? Nice, I'm happy to hear that. Let's start our English class.

Careful reading:
Now, I'd like to share some reading tips for you.
There are two important skills in reading. The first one is skimming. We skim a text when we want to get a general idea of what it is about. We often look at the titles,the first and last sentences of paragraphs to guess what the text is about.
And the second one is scanning. When we want to find certain information in a text quickly, we scan the text for keywords. We do not need to read the whole text word by word.
Now we have a short passage. I will read it for you. While you are listening, think about What's the main idea of the passage? At the same time, check your
prediction. Now, let's begin. So is you guessing right? Amy, what is the main idea? It is about Lin Qiaozhi,
who is a specialist in women's diseases. Since you have got the main idea, now please read the passage for the second time. Then answer the questions.
