When I graduated from high school, I made up my mind that I would work hard just like what I have down in high school. I didn’t want to lose another choice to change my life. But when I came here, I found the college life is much more colorful and attractive. There are lots of activities almost every day. And I can’t stop myself to take part in those interesting petition, join in the student council and some other clubs that I’m really interested in. Following my mind, I e a school host and every week I have to do lots of work. I even appeared less in my dormitory. With lots of work to do, I have no time study and I even forgot what I really wanted at beginning. So this semester, I try to change this situation and pick up my target. With giving up the work in student council, I’m only work as a campus hast——that’s my favorite! At first ,I got very nervous when I have to give my opinion and make a presentationhere ,because I had not had such experiences before. However ,I think it isthe valuable experience to get accustomed to express my own opinions and feelings. Now today my topic is my college life. I wish I could share my happiness and annoyance I have experienced with you all . Time flies without giving a warning .Recalling about the past several months , so many thoughts are flooding in my mind . I just can not tell my real idea. The memory is just like so fresh, and all the things happened yesterday. After entering college, we found, to our surprise, that differences between high school life and college life are great. In high school, we always depended on our parents and teachers to solve all kinds of problems. At college, however, we have to rely exclusively on ourselves. What is more, we have to learn how to get along with others, learn how to study independently, learn to love. There are so many things we have to learn. When you say college life is dull, others make it interesting. So, why? Just hold in mind, at college, there are not so many people to watch you and guide you how to dosomething any more, neither are there so many students who share with you one dream. So where is your dream?_Collegelife英文演讲稿。

Unit-7-College-Life新编大学英语第二版第四册课文翻译
Unit 7 College LifeThe Commencement Speech You'll Never HearWe the faculty take no pride in our educational achievement with you. We have prepared you for a world that does not exist, indeed, that cannot exist. You have spent four years supposing that failure leaves no record. You have learned at Brown that when your work goes poorly, the painless solution is to drop out. But starting now, in the world to which you go, failure marks you. Confronting difficulty by quitting leaves you changed. Outside Brown, quitters are no heroes. With us you could argue about why your errors were not errors, why mediocre work really was excellent, why you could take pride in routine and slipshod presentation. Most of you, after all, can look back on honor grades for most of what you have done. So, here grades can have meant little in distinguishing the excellent from the ordinary. But tomorrow, in the world to which you go, you had better not defend errors but learn from them. You will be ill-advised to demand praise for what does not deserve it, and abuse those who do not give it.For years we created an altogether forgiving world, in which whatever slight effort you gave was all that was demanded. When you did not keep appointments, we made new ones. When your work came in beyond the deadline, we pretended not to care.Worse still, when you were boring, we acted as if you were saying something important. When you were garrulous and talked to hear yourselves talk, we listened as if it mattered. When you tossed on our desks writing upon which you had not labored, we read it and even responded, as though you earned a response. When you were dull, we pretended you were smart. When you were predictable, unimaginative and routine, we listened as if to new and wonderful things. When you demanded free lunch, we served it. And all this why?Despite your fantasies, it was not even that we wanted to be liked by you. It was that we did not want to be bothered, and the easy way out was pretense: smiles and easy Bs.It is conventional to quote in addresses such as these. Let me quote someone you've never heard of: Professor Carter A. Daniel, Rutgers University:"College has spoiled you by reading papers that don't deserve to be read, listening to comments that don't deserve a hearing, paying attention even to the lazy, ill-informed and rude. We had to do it, for the sake of education. But nobody will ever do it again. College has deprived you of adequate preparation for the last 50 years. It has failed youby being easy, free, forgiving, attentive, comfortable, interesting, unchallenging fun. Good luck tomorrow. That is why, on this commencement day, we have nothing in which to take much pride.Oh, yes, there is one more thing. Try not to act toward your co-workers and bosses as you have acted toward us. I mean, when they give you what you want but have not earned, don't abuse them, insult them, act out with them your parlous relationships with your parents. This too we have tolerated. It was, as I said, not to be liked. Few professors actually care whether or not they are liked by peer-paralyzed adolescents, fools so shallow as to imagine professors care not about education but about popularity. It was, again, to be rid of you. So go, unlearn the lies we taught you. To life!你将永远不会听到的毕业演讲1 我们这些教师对于在你们身上取得的教育成就一点都不感到自豪。

大学里映像最深的一件事英语作文
大学里映像最深的一件事英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1One of the most memorable experiences I had during my time in college was participating in a study abroad program in Japan. It was an unforgettable adventure that left a deep impression on me and helped me grow in so many ways.I had always been fascinated by Japanese culture and history, so when the opportunity arose to study abroad in Japan for a semester, I jumped at the chance. From the moment I arrived in Tokyo, I was mesmerized by the bustling city streets, the ancient temples, and the delicious food. Everything was so different from what I was used to back home, and I couldn't wait to immerse myself in this new and exciting place.During my time in Japan, I had the opportunity to take classes at a prestigious university, explore the vibrant city of Tokyo, and travel to other parts of the country. I learned so much about Japanese language, art, and history, and made lifelong friends with both local students and other international students. One of the most memorable experiences for me was when I visited Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan. I was in awe of the beautiful temples, serene gardens, and rich history that surrounded me. As I walked through the streets of Gion, the historic geisha district, I felt like I had stepped back in time to a bygone era.Another highlight of my time in Japan was when I stayed with a host family in a small rural town. I was welcomed with open arms and treated like a member of their family. We shared meals together, went on hikes in the nearby mountains, and I even got to help out with some traditional Japanese activities like tea ceremonies and calligraphy.Overall, my study abroad experience in Japan was trulylife-changing. It opened my eyes to a new culture, pushed me out of my comfort zone, and taught me valuable lessons about independence, perseverance, and cultural understanding. I will always cherish the memories I made and the friendships I formed during my time in Japan, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have had such a transformative experience in college.篇2One of the most unforgettable memories in my college life happened during my sophomore year. It was a project assigned by my psychology professor, requiring me to conduct a case study on a specific aspect of human behavior. I chose to focus on the impact of childhood trauma on adult relationships. Little did I know at the time that this project would have such a profound impact on me.I began by interviewing a middle-aged woman who had experienced severe abuse and neglect as a child. Her story was heartbreaking, yet inspiring. Despite her traumatic upbringing, she had managed to overcome her past and build successful relationships with her loved ones. Through her testimony, I learned about the resilience of the human spirit and the power of forgiveness. As I delved deeper into my research, I realized that I was not only learning about the psychology behind trauma and relationships, but also gaining a greater understanding of myself.I began to reflect on my own past experiences and how they had shaped my own perceptions and behaviors. It was a journey of self-discovery that I will never forget. The project culminated in a presentation to my classmates and professor. I shared my findings and insights, and was metwith a sense of admiration and respect. It was a validation of all the hard work and dedication I had put into the project.Looking back on this experience, I realize that it was not just an academic exercise, but a journey of personal growth and transformation. It taught me the importance of empathy, resilience, and compassion. It highlighted the complexities of human relationships and the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity. In conclusion, this project remains one of the most profound and impactful experiences of my college life. It shaped the way I view the world and myself, and instilled in me a sense of purpose and passion for understanding human behavior. It is a memory that I will always cherish and carry with me as I continue on my academic and personal journey.篇3One of the most memorable experiences I had in college was during my second year when I joined a volunteer group that helped organize events for underprivileged children in the local community. It was a life-changing experience that left a lasting impact on me.The first event we organized was a day at the zoo for a group of children from a nearby orphanage. I was assigned to a group of five children, all of whom were around the ages of 8 to 10. At first, they were shy and reserved, unsure of what to make of our group and the day's activities. But as the day went on, I watched as their faces lit up with joy and excitement as they saw the animals up close and took part in various educational activities. The moment that stood out to me the most was when we visited the penguin exhibit. The children were fascinated by the playful creatures swimming and waddling around. One little girl, who had been quiet and withdrawn for most of the day, suddenly burst out laughing as she watched the penguins chasing each other. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated joy that brought tears to my eyes.Throughout the day, I talked to the children, played games with them, and simply enjoyed their company. I learned about their dreams, their fears, and their hopes for the future. I was touched by their resilience and their ability to find happiness in the simplest of things. After the event, I couldn't stop thinking about those children and the impact they had on me. I realized how privileged I was to have had a stable and loving upbringing, and how important itwas to give back to those who were less fortunate. I continued to volunteer with the group, organizing more events and spending time with the children. That day at the zoo remains one of the most profound and meaningful experiences I had in college. It taught me the importance of empathy, kindness, and compassion towards others. It showed me that a small act of kindness can make a world of difference in someone's life. And most importantly, it reaffirmed my belief in the power of community and the ability to make a positive impact on the world around us.。
the difference between college life and middle school life
Directions;Work in pair to talk about the differences between the life in College and the life in middle school and make presentation in class. For reference版本一:College life is new to me. What impressed me most at the beginning of college life was that there is so much difference between my college life and my middle school life.At the middle school, I spent most of the time studying. It even took up our spare time. Various examinations fell on me. All I did was to pass the college entrance examination. While, life at college is full of various activities. For example, there are frequent games of football, basketball, or volleyball. Also, there are English corners where you may have a chance to speak English.Although both college students and middle school students attend lectures every day, they have different ways to study. College students must learn to study independently. They must try to solve problems or find answers by themselves through reading a lot of books. While, middle school students depend more on their teachers. In a word, I think college life is more colorful.版本二:I became a real college student shortly after the college entrance examination. College life is new to me. what impressed me most at the beginning of college life was that there is so much difference between my college life and my middle school life.At the middle school, I spent most of the time studying. It even took up our spare time. Various examinations fell on me, out of breath. All I did was to pass the college entrance examination. After I went to college, things were changed. Homework was s eldom assigned and we needn’t study deep into night. We tried our best to find all kinds of ways to entertain ourselves, which seemed to make up for what we had lost in the middle school life.As for social communication, it is totally different between the two. As a middle-school student, we paid little attention to the relationship between classmates and failed to think of how to promote the relationship. Maybe at that time, our pure thought made us ignore it. However, social communication attracts more and more attention from students. Students come to realize the importance of communication with others. It is regarded as a way to better smooth the barrier or hardships on the path to success. As far as I am cornered, these two differences are the main ones I have ever found so far. In a word, to distinguish correctly the college life and the middle school life helps to make our college life more colorful.版本三:If people ask me such a question—what do you think is the main difference between your college life and middle school ?My answer is always the same: the main difference is that in college I enjoy a great degree of “independence”I prefer college life to middle school mainly because I am independent both in daily life and in my academic studies. In college I will arrange my daily life by myself and make decisions of my own will. As foracademic study, I have a plenty of free time after class for self-study and learn whatever I am interested in . To be successful in all the courses I have to learn, I even can have a workable plan of my own. While in middle school, I lived a dependent life. My daily life was arranged all by my parents. I even could not decide what to eat and what to wear, for my parents usually had the final say. And I was jammed with what the teachers wanted to feed me, without considering whether I really liked to learn or not. By comparison I should say I love the independent life in college. In college I feel I am a grown-up.In short, my college life is quite different from my middle school life. In college, I am much more independent in my daily life and study. To those new comers, I would suggest that they rely on themselves and be and independent man.Network information1.Way of Campus LifeNow, I have much more spare time than ever before. It means that I must find a way to make full use of it. Some people said “College is a heaven where you can do what you want. So free yourself, and don’t care for study.” Is it really right? Should I follow it? I doubt it. As a colle ge student, I know, study is the main purpose.A college should have a good command of up-to-date knowledge in certain fields of science and technology. If I haven’t much knowledge in this knowledge explosion time, I will be a useless man.2. The Differences between High School Life and College LifeWhen students finish their high school courses and enter the classrooms of a college or a university, they will deal with new classmates, new teachers, new requirements of study, in a word, a completely new environment. They have to adapt themselves to the new life on campus. There are obvious differences between high school life and college life. First, a freshman will live far away from his family, and in addition, the climate and food may be different from those of his home place, so he has to take good care of himself. Second, he will live with classmates who come from various parts of the country and who may have different living habits. Third, he is to learn a lot of new knowledge, and he has more time for him to budget. It may take a freshman some while to become accustomed to the study and life at college. However, we all have to accept constant challenges of new things in our life. College students should treasure the days of higher learning and prepare themselves for the future life and work.3. Many students feel that life on university campus is not as intense as it was in middle school. Some are even at a loss to how time should be spent because there are not as many courses, which is the most obvious difference. And there is no one who will keep an eye on you all the time as well. You have to learn to acquire knowledge mostly by yourself, making use of the library. Actually, I find I have learnt more about the world and the society in the past two years than what I have learned from all the formal classes at middle school. Also I find many extracurricula lectures given by guest speakers most stimulating. In a word, one thing I am sure now: college life is and will be a most colorful and fruitful period in my whole life.。

给好朋友介绍大学生活的英语作文
给好朋友介绍大学生活的英语作文Hey bestie! I know we're still just kids, but I can't wait to tell you all about college life. My big sister is a freshman at State University, and she's been telling me so many cool things about it. It's like a whole new world compared to elementary school!First of all, the campus is HUGE! Like, way bigger than our school, the park, and the mall combined. There are tons of big buildings all over the place for different subjects like science, art, english and more. My sister says she has to use a map on her phone to know where to go half the time. Can you imagine? Getting lost trying to find your classes! That would be so adventurous.Instead of having the same teacher all day like we do, college students get different professors for each class. And they're experts who have studied their subjects for years and years. Like, a professor who knows literally everything about dinosaurs or Ancient Rome or whatever they're teaching. My sister's English prof even wrote books! So smart. And the classes themselves are different too. No more raising your hand to go to the bathroom or lining up in the hallway. College kids just come and go as they please. They caneat snacks, drink coffee, put their feet up, whatever! As long as they're quiet and don't distract anyone. Doesn't that soundlaid-back and grown-up?But speaking of snacks, the dining halls are insane! Endless buffets with every kind of food you can think of. Burgers, pizza, tacos, sushi, you name it. And it's all you can eat, so you can go back for seconds, thirds, fourths...my sister says some guys actually eat seven or eight plates! No wonder they have to work out so much.Oh, and instead of living at home, college kids get to live on campus in these huge buildings called dorms. It's like a gigantic sleepover with your friends every single night! My sister lives with three other girls in one room with four beds and four desks and they can have friends over any time, watch movies, play video games, whatever. Responsibilities like cleaning and laundry are all on them though, no more moms to help with that stuff. There's also tons of clubs, sports teams, parties, events and more to get involved in. My sister joined an intramural soccer team, an outdoor adventure club where they go hiking and camping, and this girl power group that does volunteer work. She stays super busy outside of class. And frat parties soundboth awesome and terrifying - live DJs, dancing, ordering pizza at 2am! Just pure wildness that I can't even imagine yet.College does seem harder than our school in some ways too though. Way more homework, tough professors who don't accept late work, having to juggle classes with jobs, clubs, friends and everything else. You're pretty much an adult at that point. My sister pulls a lot of all-nighters and stresses about grades a ton.But overall, she absolutely LOVES it. Making her own choices, exploring her interests, meeting people from all over who are passionate about the same things she is. She says for the first time, she feels like she really gets to focus on becoming the person she wants to be. No more silly school rules or curfews, and her parents finally treat her like a grown-up instead of a kid.I've still got a few years before I'll be applying to colleges, but I'm already dreaming about it. We'll have to go on some campus tours together soon! Maybe we can be college roommates and join the same clubs? Wouldn't that be incredible? Leaving home, being independent, making new friends, following our passions...it sounds equal parts amazing and terrifying, to be honest. But I guess that's all part of the adventure!Anyway, those are just some of the highlights about college life from what my sister has told me so far. Of course, every school is probably a little different with its own traditions and everything. But hopefully this gives you a sneak peek into that crazy world we've got to look forward to. WriteMe back if you have any other questions! I'm so excited we get to experience this together.Your bestie forever,[Your name]。
