离开词汇就没法表达概念,词汇不丰富,也必然影响思想交流。
学生掌握的词汇愈多,他们运用语言的能力就愈强。
就一般情况而言,学生掌握词汇量的大小,可反映他们的英语水平。
词汇教学是英语课堂教学的重要一环。
我们科组在小学英语教学实践中特别是在打造英语精品课程中坚持以下几种做法:取得了较好的效果。
一、兴趣为首,寓教于乐,全面提高词汇教学的有效性。
小学生在认识客观事物过程中,以形象思维为主,抽象思维能力还不够成熟。
因此,他们在学习英语词汇时需要教师提供直观、形象的感性经验支持。
根据儿童的这一心理特点和认知规律,教师在进行词汇教学时,尽量调动学生的多种感官和已有的经验、知识,通过多种形式的教学手段,丰富学生的直观经验和感性认识,使学生获得生动的表象,从而加深对所学词汇的理解和记忆。
在我国的英语学习环境中,学习者在生活中很少有频繁广泛接触英语的机会,因而学习者就不可能像本族人那样自然习得英语词汇。
这就要求英语教师充分利用课堂时间,有意识地培养学生学习新词汇和巩固旧词汇的策略,同时,尽可能多地为学生提供巩固英语词汇的机会。
1.巧用实物及图片,加强词汇教学的直观性。
直观化教学有助于学生把英语单词同实物或情景直接联系,增强语言的真实性、形象感,易于调动和保持学生的学习兴趣。
特别是对于英语学习初级阶段的学生,采用直观教学,使学生一开始就把实物或动作与英语直接联系起来,获得一个直观印象。
如在制作《开心学英语》Book2unit1 Hello,Gogo!一课的精品课程时,第一课时主要学习文具类,动物类,食品类,颜色类八个单词:notebook,pencilcase,snake,butterfly,soup,steak,pink,gray.为了让学生很直观地理解单词,老师电脑出示四个美丽的场景:四个美丽的岛屿(文具岛、动物岛、食物岛和颜色岛),把精美的图片放在岛屿中来引出新单词的学习。
