Mr Chen lives in Sunshine Town. After he got , he and his wife to a new house. Last year, they moved again when their children them a new flat. In the past there were small , shops and market stalls in the town. Now the place has a lot. The town is now a park. Many of Mr Chen’s old friends have to other areas. Sometimes, they come back and go to the new park to play and Chinese with Mr Chen, but they don’t often see each other. Mr Chen feels from time to time.

（一）阅读理解。

Japanese students work very hard but many are unhappy. They feel heavy pressures(压力) from their parents. Their parents always tell them to study harder and harder so that they can have a wonderful life in the future. Though (虽然) this may be a good idea for those bright students, it can have bad results for
many students who are not clever enough. Many of them study hard but failed and have their parents lose hope. Such students feel that few people like them and they don’t want to go to school any longer. They become dropouts.
It is surprising that though most Japanese parents are worried about their children, they don’t help them in any way. Many parents feel that they aren’t able to help them and it is the teacher’s work to help them. What’s worse, a lot of parents send their children to those schools opening in the evenings and on weekends---they only help the students to pass the exams and never teach them any sense of the world.
Many Japanese schools usually have rules about everything from the students’ hair to their clothes and things in their school bags. Child psychologists (心理学家) think such strict rules aren’t good for the students. Almost 40% of the students said that no one taught them how to get on well with others, how to tell right or wrong and how to show love and care for others, even for their parents.
