My name is Emily and I am a 10-year-old student in the 5th grade at Sunshine Elementary School. I am very excited to have the opportunity to participate in the primary school student exchange program and meet new friends from another country. This will be my first time traveling abroad and I can't wait to learn about a different culture and way of life.
I live with my parents and younger sister in a small town called Greenville. Our family enjoys spending time outdoors and on the weekends we often go hiking or cycling in the nearby mountains. I love being active and playing sports. My favorite is basketball - I play on my school's team and hope to keep improving my skills. I also enjoy reading fantasy and adventure stories and am currently reading a book about a group of friends who go on a magical quest.
At school, my favorite subjects are science and art. In science class, we get to do lots of fun experiments and learn about the natural world. I'm fascinated by animals and plants and would love to be a zoologist when I grow up. In art, I enjoy painting, drawing, and
making crafts. I'm proud of a clay sculpture I made recently that won a prize in the school art show.
One of my hobbies is learning languages. Besides English, I'm also studying Mandarin Chinese at school. I find it challenging but rewarding to learn new ways of communicating. I hope that through this exchange program, I will have the chance to practice my language skills and make new friends who speak a different native language. I'm really curious to learn about what school and daily life is like for children in other countries.
Outside of school, I'm involved in my local community. I volunteer at the animal shelter, where I help take care of the dogs and cats. I also participate in a nature club that organizes beach cleanups and tree-planting events. Protecting the environment is important to me and I try to do my part by recycling, conserving water, and turning off lights when not in use.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. We like to play board games, go to the movies, and have barbecues in our backyard. I also take piano lessons and am working on learning a new piece that I'm really excited about. Music is another one of my passions - I love how it can express emotions and bring people together.
I'm really looking forward to meeting the students from the other country and learning about their lives and interests. I hope we can share our cultures, play games together, and become good friends. This exchange program is a unique opportunity that I'm grateful to be a part of. I'm sure I will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diversity in our world.
