As a Chinese person, one of my favorite things about the Spring Festival is the food. There are so many
delicious dishes that we only eat during this time of year.
One of my favorite dishes is dumplings. They are a staple of the Spring Festival and represent wealth and good luck. My family and I usually make them together on New Year's Eve. We make the dough from scratch and then fill them with a mixture of meat and vegetables. Then we boil them and enjoy them with soy sauce and vinegar.
Another dish that I love is niangao, or glutinous rice cake. It's a sweet cake made from glutinous rice flour and sugar. It's usually cut into slices and pan-fried until crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It's also considered lucky because the word "nian" sounds like the word for "year," so eating niangao is said to bring good
luck in the new year.
Of course, there are many other dishes that we eat during the Spring Festival, such as fish, chicken, and various vegetables. Each dish has its own symbolic meaning and is meant to bring good luck and fortune for the new year.
