Expo, which is held by the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, has just drawn to a close. This year’s expo has fully demonstrated the achievements of both Chinese and international agricultural and food industry development. More than 1,500 enterprises from over 20 countries and regions, and also from the 31 provinces and municipalities of China, joined the event as exhibitors. More than 5,000 professional buyers also attended the expo.

end Dialogue on Agricultural and Food Trade gathered wisdom from political, business, and academic circles both at home and abroad. It will also improve the standardization and quality of the prefabricated food industry of Guangdong.X iao Yafei, Secretar y of the Dongguan Municipal Party Committee, said that Dongguan’s food and beverage processing industry is strong, with a total output value of more than RMB 120 billion. It has a number of leading food processing enterprises, and possesses advantages in grain and edible oil processing, central kitchens, the group meal market and cold chain facilities. Dongguan will take the construction of a provincial-level prefabricated food industry park as an opportunity to support the accelerated transformation and upgrading of the food and beverage processing industry, innovate and develop new formats for items such as pet food, and create more well-known brands.Shandong is a major agricultural province with strong capabilities in producing agricultural products. Chen Ping, Deputy Governor of Shandong Province, said that Shandong hopes to strengthen its agricultural product production, sales and trade cooperation with various provinces and cities, including Guangdong, as well as enterprises from all over the world. The

He hopes to create a win-win situation for all parties through the important platform of the Food Expo and Premade Food Expo.Balumuene Nkuna F., Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to China, said that with strong support from the Chinese government, the DRC’s agricultural products, such as coffee, palm oil, cotton, cocoa, fruits, seafood, and spices, have achieved duty-free exports to China. The DRC will continue to strengthen its infrastructure construction and improve its business environment to attract more foreign investment into the agricultural and food industry, and resolve food and nutrition insecurity issues in the country.Martinos Mandalidis, the Consul General of Greece in Guangzhou, highlighted the fact that the expo has attracted numerous professional exhibitors and experts in the agricultural and food fields, while also setting up many activities to showcase the latest food technology, products and other achievements. He believes that this expo will create more business opportunities for exhibitors, participants, and visitors, promote communication and achieve win-win cooperation. It is an important link in processing grain into food and processing livestock into meat. In recent years, food and beverage processing in Dongguan has developed rapidly. As of the end of 2023, the total industrial output of Dongguan’s food and beverage processing industry reached RMB 120.174 billion, of which the scale of the prefabricated food industry reached RMB 26 billion. It has become a new type of quality productivity for the upgrading of the agricultural industry.
