Dear Paul,
I'm glad to receive your letter and I'm happy to introduce you to the traditional Chinese culture. Now I'll talk about the Chinese character "寿".
The character "寿" is often used to express the wish for a long and healthy life in Chinese culture. It has three parts, with the middle part representing a roof, symbolizing a shelter and protection. The left part is the character "士", which means "scholar" or "gentleman". The right part is the character "呂", which means "music" or "harmony".
In ancient China, this character was often seen in birthday celebrations or given as a gift to elderly people to show respect and good wishes. Different patterns and decorations were added to the character "寿" to make it more beautiful and meaningful.
In modern times, the character "寿" is still widely used in Chinese culture. It can be found in calligraphy, paintings, embroidery, and even on Chinese traditional clothing. People also use it to decorate their homes during festivals or important occasions.
I hope this brief introduction helps you understand the meaning and significance of the Chinese character "寿". If you have any more questions about Chinese culture, feel free to ask me.
Best wishes,
Li Hua

1. 简要介绍端午节的起源和传统;
2. 邀请她一起体验包粽子和赛龙舟;

1. 词数100左右;
2. 可适当增加细节,以使行文连贯;

Dear Julia,
I hope this letter finds you well. I heard that you are interested in traditional Chinese festivals, and I would like to introduce the Dragon Boat Festival (also known as Duanwu Festival) to you.
The Dragon Boat Festival takes place on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar, which usually falls in June. It is celebrated to commemorate Qu Yuan, a great poet and statesman in ancient China. Qu Yuan drowned himself in the river as a protest against the corrupt government. To prevent fish from eating his body, people threw rice dumplings called zongzi into the river. This is why we eat zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival.
I would like to invite you to experience making zongzi and watch the dragon boat races with me. Making zongzi is a traditional activity during the festival. We will wrap sticky rice, meat, and other ingredients in bamboo leaves and boil them. It’s a fun and delicious process. As for the dragon boat
races, teams of rowers paddle in long boats decorated as dragons to the sound of drums. It's an exciting event that showcases strength and teamwork.
I particularly love the Dragon Boat Festival because of the festive atmosphere and the sense of unity it brings. People hang up pouches of herbs to protect themselves from evil spirits, and children wear colorful silk threads to ward off evil. The smell of zongzi fills the air, and the cheers from the dragon boat races are contagious. It’s a time when families and friends come together to celebrate and remember the spirit of Qu Yuan.
I hope you can join me in celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival. It will be
a memorable experience for both of us.
See you soon!
Best regards,
Li Ming。
