In my heart, the pond in my hometown is so deep, clear, and nostalgic. It's a small pond located by the edge of the village, closely linked to my childhood, filled with endless laughter and wonderful memories.
The pond in my hometown may not be big, but it's deep enough. On the edge of the pond, some wild flowers sway in the wind, like natural screens, decorating the pond with extraordinary beauty. Sunlight filters through the leaves and shines on the pond, with ripples on the surface like countless jewels embedded.
The water of the pond is crystal clear, and you can see the fish swimming around and playing. Sometimes, I would come to the pond with some friends and just sit quietly watching the fish wander around in their world below the water. At that age, we were full of curiosity and longing for the unknown world.
Under the shade of trees by the pond, it was where we often gathered. In summer, we would seek shade there, eating watermelons grown by ourselves while listening to old folks telling ancient stories full of mystery and fantasy, as if transporting us to a new world. And in winter, we would make snowmen and play snowball fights by the pond, enjoying the winter fun.
Besides playing, the pond was also a place for us to learn. There we learned to respect nature and protect the environment. We understood that only by protecting this pond could we make our lives better.
