3.能在阅读中借助上下文语境和构词法猜测词汇的含义；理解延续性动词可用于表达持续性动作和状态，能够与since和for搭配使用。

Teaching process:
Step 1 Lead-in.
1. Read the new words together(from junior to truthful).
2.Translation-----so easy！

Step 2
T：Do you have any old things that you no longer use?
How long have you had it/them?
What would you do with(处置) it/ them?
Would you give them away、keep them、just throw them away（扔掉）or other ways?
Talk about these questions with your classmates and then you can say like that:(you can add more as you like)
I have a/an book that I no longer use. I have had it
for three years./since I was a pupil.
I want to give it away to my neighbor , because I think it’s much better than sell it as waste paper.

1.Read the first paragraph ,then answer the the question in 3a and the first two questions in 3b.
2.Read the second paragraph and answer the third question in 3b.
3.Talk about the remaining (剩下的)questions in 3b.
4.Read the article again by yourself and then finish 3c.
5.Explain some important words and sentences .
1)clear out清理；丢掉
e.g. I’ll clear out that closet for you.
我要替你把那个小衣橱清理出来。

2)no longer意为“不再；不复”，有时用not …any longer 或not …anymore 替换。

如：He no longer lives here. (= He does n’t live here anymore/any longe r.)他不再住这儿了。

3) certain adj. 意为“某种；某事；某人”。

e.g. He decided to sell his certain books.
他决定卖掉他的某些书籍。

4) part v. 离开，分开part with 放弃、交出，
e.g. Don’t part with your dream.
不要放弃你的梦想。

5)as for至于，关于
e.g. And as for us, we are fortunate.
可对我们来说，我们是幸运的。

6) to be honest意为“说实在的，说实话”，经常单独使用，作插入语，用逗号与句子隔开。

类似的表达还有to tell the truth “老实说，说实话”。

7) while n. 一段时间，一会儿
词组：for a while 一会儿（表示很短的时间）
after a while一会儿以后，后来；常用于一般过去时
In a while =right away=at once立刻，马上；常用于一般将来时
e.g. They chattered away happily for a while.
他们高兴地闲扯了一会儿。

After a while, we began to have dinner.
过了不久，我们开始吃晚餐。

I will leave for Beijing in a while.
我马上就去北京。
