六年级下册第二单元手抄报英语模板全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Favorite AnimalsHi everyone! My name is Emily and I'm a 6th grader. For our class handwritten newsletter project this semester, I chose to write about my favorite animals. Animals are just so cool and fascinating to me. Let me tell you all about the ones I like the most!My absolutely favorite animal in the whole world is the dolphin. Dolphins are incredible marine mammals that live in oceans and seas. They are known for being very intelligent and friendly towards humans. I love how playful dolphins are - they often swim up to boats and do fun tricks by jumping out of the water. Watching them at aquariums always puts a big smile on my face. There are actually different types of dolphins, like the bottlenose dolphin which is probably the most recognizable. But my favorite is the pink river dolphin, also called the Amazon river dolphin. These unique dolphins live in the fresh waters of theAmazon River in South America. They are a gorgeous pink or grey color and have very long beaks. I think they almost look like little prehistoric creatures! Unfortunately, the Amazon river dolphin is endangered due to pollution and habitat loss. I really hope they don't go extinct because the world would be less amazing without them.Another amazing animal is the giant panda. These beautiful black and white bears are native to the bamboo forests of central China. I had a chance to see some giant pandas up close at the zoo a few years ago and they were even more adorable in person! Pandas mainly eat bamboo and they have these cute wrist bones that act like thumbs to help them grip the bamboo stalks. Baby pandas are especially cute - they're tiny and weigh only a few ounces when first born.Even though giant pandas seem gentle and cuddly, they can actually be pretty dangerous if threatened. Their powerful jaws allow them to crush dense bamboo easily. But I still think they're absolutely delightful animals. Sadly, like many species, giant pandas are vulnerable due to deforestation and habitat loss. Only around 1,800 are estimated to be left in the wild. I really hope more efforts are made to protect these precious animals before it's too late.Moving from land to air, my favorite bird is definitely the swan. Swans are those huge, elegant white birds with long, curved necks. There are different swan species around the world, but the ones I'm most familiar with are the mute swans commonly found in parks and ponds. Swans are described as one of the most beautiful and graceful creatures on the planet. When they spread their wings, some can reach over 8 feet wide! That's bigger than I am tall. While swans look very peaceful gliding across the water, they can actually be quite aggressive, especially when guarding their nests and offspring. Stories of swans attacking people who get too close are pretty common. I guess you could say they have a "ugly duckling" side to their beauty! Swans are also one of the few monogamous bird species, meaning they mate for life with the same partner. How romantic is that? I love watching swans glide together as a couple on the lake near my house. One of the most dangerous yet fascinating animals has to be the great white shark. These massive sharks can grow over 20 feet long and weigh several tons! Their huge jaws are filled with rows of serrated, triangular teeth that can bite through almost anything. Great whites are considered the largest predatory fish on Earth.Even though I'm terrified of actually encountering one, I'm in awe of these skilled hunters of the sea. Great whites have an incredible sense of smell that allows them to detect even the tiniest particles of blood in the ocean from miles away. Their dinosaur-like appearance and power makes me imagine what Earth must have been like when even bigger mega-sharks swam the prehistoric waters. While movies definitely make them seem like mindless killing machines, great whites are actually fairly intelligent with incredible natural instincts. I just have mad respect for these apex predators! My last favorite animal is one of the most unique - the platypus! If you've never seen a platypus before, just imagine an animal that looks like a mix between a beaver, a duck, and a reptile. Platypuses (or is it platypi?) are semi-aquatic egg-laying mammals native to eastern Australia. They are definitely one of the strangest looking animals on the planet!Male platypuses have a venomous spur on their hind legs that can actually kill smaller animals and cause immense pain to humans. How crazy is that for such a cute and awkward looking critter? These guys are also one of the few venomous mammals in the world. Platypuses use their duck-like bills to hunt for shrimp, fish eggs, and other tasty snacks along river bottoms. They're such oddballs that scientists initially thought they were an elaborate hoax when platypus samples were first sent back to England in the 1700s.Well, those are some of my all-time favorite animals from around the world! I hope you found them as interesting and amazing as I do. Animals come in so many bizarre shapes, sizes, and adaptations - isn't nature just incredible? I could probably go on and on about other fascinating creatures, but I'll stop here for now. Thanks for reading my animal article and let me know if you ever want to learn more!篇2My Favorite Season - Spring!Spring is definitely my favorite season of the year! Everything starts blooming and coming back to life after the long, cold winter months. The weather gets warmer, the days get longer, and it's like the whole world wakes up from a deep sleep. Let me tell you about all the things I love most about springtime.First off, the flowers start popping up everywhere in the most beautiful colors - tulips, daffodils, roses, and many more. My mom and I love going to the park or botanical gardens to see all the flowering trees and plants. The cherry blossom trees aremy absolute favorites with their pretty pink petals. I could stare at them all day! It makes me want to take up painting or photography so I can capture their beauty forever.Another great thing about spring is that baby animals are born during this season. It's so fun to see the little lambs, calves, chicks, and bunnies frolicking about. One time on a family trip to a farm, I even got to bottle feed some baby goats! They were SO cute and tiny, and they made the funniest bleating noises when they were hungry. I really want to get a pet bunny of my own because they are just the cutest, fluffiest little things.Speaking of pets, spring is also when lots of cats and dogs have litters of puppies and kittens. They are absolutely irresistible! Every spring, animal shelters have way too many and put them up for adoption at discounted rates. I always beg my parents to let me bring one home, but they keep saying we already have enough pets. A girl can dream though, right? I follow about a dozen different Instagram accounts that just post pictures of baby animals, and I squeal over every single one. With the warmer temperatures, spring is primetime for playing outside again after being cooped up inside all winter long. My friends and I love riding our bikes, playing at the park, going on scavenger hunts, and having picnics. The freshspringtime air smells so clean and fresh, with that distinct green scent from all the plants in bloom. I feel like I have so much more energy during spring compared to the winter blahs. One of my family's biggest traditions is our annual spring camping trip over Spring Break. We load up the camper and head out to the nearest state park for four days of hiking, fishing, swimming in the lake, and roasting marshmallows over the campfire. I could spend hours exploring the woods, climbing trees, and searching for cool bugs, frogs, and other critters. We always come home completely exhausted but glowing from spending so much time in nature. I wish we could do it more than just once a year!Thinking about spring puts me in such a happy, hopeful mood. Everything is fresh and new again, full of possibilities. I feel like a blossoming flower myself, unfurling my petals under the warm sun after being dormant all winter. That first 70 degree day when I can wear shorts and finally go outside without a coat again...you just can't beat that feeling! Summer might have the longest break from school, but spring is undeniably the most wonderful, glorious, alive season in my book. This time of renewal, rebirth, and new beginnings is 100% my most favorite篇3Unit 2 - My CommunityHi everyone! For this unit, we learned all about communities and how important they are. A community is a group of people who live in the same area. The community I live in is my neighborhood. My NeighborhoodI live in a nice neighborhood with lots of houses, trees, and parks. There is a playground down the street where I love to go play on the swings and monkey bars. My best friend Samantha lives next door, so we can always walk to each other's houses. On my street, there are families with kids my age, older kids, babies, and even some grandparents too. We have people from all different backgrounds living here which I think is really cool. Some families are from other countries originally and celebrate different holidays and traditions. I've learned about Diwali, Chinese New Year, and more from my neighbors. Our neighborhood has a community center where they have afterschool activities like art classes, sports, and even a homework club. In the summer they have a day camp for kidstoo. There is a community garden behind the center where people can grow fruits and veggies. My mom has a little plot there where she grows tomatoes, carrots, and herbs. We also have a few small businesses in our neighborhood. There is a hair salon, a little grocery store, a bakery, and a family restaurant. My parents like to support the local places by shopping and eating there. The owners of the businesses live around here too.Jobs in the CommunityThere are all kinds of people working jobs that make our community run smoothly. Our garbage gets picked up twice a week by the recycling and trash trucks. We get mail delivered by the postal workers. Firefighters and police officers keep us safe.At my school, we have teachers, a principal, secretaries, custodians, cafeteria workers and even a nurse. So many people working hard! The crossing guards help kids cross the street safely in the morning and after school. We also have bus drivers who take kids to and from school.Other workers like plumbers, electricians and contractors help fix things at our houses, businesses and schools when needed. People work at the parks too, maintaining the grass, trees and playgrounds. We couldn't have a nice community without all these hardworking people!Community Events and ActivitiesOur neighborhood has lots of fun community events throughout the year. In the spring, we have an Easter egg hunt in the park. During the summer there are outdoor movie nights where they project films on a big screen and we can bring picnic blankets. There is a big neighborhood block party every July 4th with food trucks, a bouncy house, live music and fireworks at night. In October, we go trick-or-treating for Halloween. And in December, we have a holiday lights contest where houses decorate with lights and displays. My parents belong to the neighborhood watch program, where volunteers look out for any unsafe stuff happening. They sometimes patrol the area, but also just keep an eye on things when they're out walking the dog. There is also a community facebook group where neighbors share news, recommendations, and items for sale or trade.I really enjoy living in my community. It's nice having my friends closeby and all the fun activities we can do. The peoplewho live and work here make it a great place. I'm grateful for my community!篇4My School LifeSchool is such an important part of my life. I spend so much time there learning, playing, and making friends. Let me tell you all about the different aspects of my school experience! My ClassesI have so many interesting classes throughout the week. My favorite is probably science because we get to do lots of fun experiments. Just last week, we made little volcanoes out of baking soda, vinegar, and dish soap. It was so cool to see the "lava" bubbling over the sides! We also learned about the different types of rocks and even got to take some samples home.Math class can be challenging, but I'm getting better at things like fractions, decimals, and geometry. My teacher makes us practice a lot with worksheets and timed tests. I don't love that part, but I know it's important to keep improving my skills. In English, we just started a unit on writing different genres.篇5My Favorite Stories and CharactersHi everyone! For this unit's handwritten newsletter, I wanted to tell you all about some of my favorite stories and book characters. Reading is one of my biggest hobbies and I just love getting lost in a great book. Let me take you on a journey through some amazing tales!First up, we have the classic adventures of Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. I'm sure you've all heard of this incredibly popular series about the young wizard Harry and his friends Ron and Hermione. What I love most is the rich, magical world that Rowling created at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. From Quidditch matches to potions classes, every page transports you into Harry's universe of spells, enchantments, and battling the evil Lord Voldemort. My favorite character is definitely Hermione - she's the brightest witch of her age and I admire her brains, courage and loyalty to her friends. The epic tale of good versus evil makes this a must-read series!Another book series I'm obsessed with is Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. This exciting story follows Percy, who finds out he's the son of the Greek god Poseidon. He getssent to a special camp for kids with Greek god parents, and has to go on all sorts of quests and battles with monsters and Greek mythology villains. What's really cool is how Riordan takes all the ancient Greek myths and weaves them into a modern day setting. My favorite character is probably Percy himself - he's funny, brave, and always tries to do the right thing, even when it's really difficult. The action and adventure will keep you on the edge of your seat! For something a little different, I recently read Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life by Wendy Mass. It's about a 13-year-old boy named Jeremy who goes on a journey to discover the meaning behind a box left by his deceased father. With the help of his quirky neighbor Lizzy, they follow a strange set of clues and keys to ultimately find out what the box contains. I loved the heartwarming themes about family, friendship and discovering your purpose in life. Jeremy and Lizzy were such likeable characters who never gave up. This feel-good book really makes you think!I hope I've inspired you to check out some of these awesome books and stories! Getting swept away in an amazing adventure or seeing yourself in a relatable character is why I love reading so much. It opens your mind to new worlds and teaches you lessonsyou can apply to your own life. Books allow our imagination to soar!Let me know if you want any other book recommendations. I've got so many other tales to share with plots full of excitement, lovable characters, and powerful meanings. Happy reading!篇6My Awesome Adventures in English Class!Hey there! My name is Jamie and I'm a sixth grader at Oakwood Elementary School. I just finished up the second unit in my English class and boy was it a blast! Mrs. Robertson is the best teacher ever and she always finds the most fun ways to help us learn. This unit was all about exploring different cultures around the world through stories, songs, food, and more. I can't wait to tell you all about it!First up, we read these amazing folk tales from different countries. My favorite was definitely the Chinese story about the Magical Monkey King. He could transform into all sorts of crazy animals and had these epic fights against evil demons. The descriptions were so vivid that I could picture every scene unfolding right before my eyes! We also listened to tales from India, Africa, and Mexico. It was awesome hearing the differentcharacter voices and sound effects that Mrs. Robertson did. She's a stellar storyteller! After exploring the folk tales, we spent a whole week learning about traditional cuisine from around the globe. We had so much fun taste testing all the new flavors and ingredients. My top picks were the fresh mango from India (so sweet and juicy!), the crispy lumpia spring rolls from the Philippines, and the gooey chocolate churros from Mexico. We even attempted making our own sushi rolls from Japan, which was a hilarious mess but still tasted pretty good. Who knew rice vinegar and seaweed could be so yummy? The coolest part was when we had families from diverse backgrounds come in to share their cultural traditions with us. We learned some awesome dances like the merengue from the Dominican Republic and a Serbian folk dance called the Obicajno Oro. My feet were sore by the end from all the twirling and stomping, but it was worth it! We also got to try on beautiful clothing styles like colourful saris from India, elaborate African head wraps, and mariachi suits from Mexico. I felt like a movie star up on the little stage trying them all on.For our final projects, we split up into small groups and each one represented a different country. My group covered Franceand we created this massive display about French culture and history. We made papier mâché models of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, baked croissants and crème brûlée from scratch (they were to die for!), and taught the whole class some basic French phrases. I can now ask where the bathroom is and count to twenty in perfect Parisian form! The other groups did such an incredible job too, from making traditional Moroccan rugs to performing a Japanese Sake ceremony. I learned so many fascinating new things.Overall, this unit on world cultures was simply the best. It combined my favorite subjects like reading, cooking, art, and music into one big awesome adventure. I feel like I got a small taste of so many amazing places without ever having to leave my classroom. Mrs. Robertson went all out to make it interactive and captivating every step of the way. Not only did I gain a ton of knowledge, but it also helped me appreciate the rich diversity in our world. There are so many vibrant traditions and customs to explore out there.I can't wait to see what Mrs. Robertson has in store for our next unit! Maybe we'll go deep into the rainforests or launch off into outer space. Whatever it is, I know it'll be an exciting journey. This year has totally sparked my inner travel bug and sense ofcuriosity about new cultures. I've already started researching fun summer trips my family could take to experience some of these places for real. Who knows, maybe I'll be teaching you some Swahili or Mandarin phrases by this time next year! The possibilities are endless when your imagination can take you anywhere around the globe. Catch you on the flip side, explorers!。

In 2004, NASA's Opportunity rover found evidence in Martian soils that water had once flowed across the surface there, buoying hopes that the red planet may once have supported primitive life. But a new study throws some cold water, and a big pinch of salt, on those hopes."Liquid water is required by all species on Earth and we've assumed that water is the very least that would be necessary for life on Mars," said study team member Nicholas J. Tosca, a Harvard University postdoctoral researcher. "However, to really assess Mars' habitability we need to consider the properties of its water. Not all of Earth's waters are able to support life, and the limits of terrestrial life are sharply defined by water's temperature, acidity and salinity."Tosca and his team analyzed salt deposits in the 4-billion-year-old Martian rock investigated by Opportunity. The new analysis shows that the water that would have flowed across these ancient Martian rocks may have been exceedingly briny."Our sense has been that while Mars is a lousy environment for supporting life today, long ago it might have more closely resembled Earth," said Andrew H. Knoll, also of Harvard and on the study team. "But this result suggests quite strongly that even as long as four billion years ago, the surface of Mars would have been challenging for life. No matter how far back we peer into Mars' history, we may never see a point atOne of Australia's most remarkable natural gifts, the Great Barrier Reef is blessed with the breathtaking beauty of the world's largest coral reef. The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest reef system[1][2] composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2,600 kilometres (1,600 mi) over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometres (133,000 sq mi). The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in northeast Australia. The reef contains an abundance of marine life and comprises of over 3000 individual reef systems and coral cays and literally hundreds of picturesque tropical islands with some of the worlds most beautiful sun-soaked, golden beaches. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven wonders of the natural world, and pulling away from it, and viewing it from a greater distance, you can understand why. They belonged to workers whobuilt the pyramids of Khufu and Khafre.Hawass had earlier found graffiti on the walls from workers calling themselves "friends ofKhufu" - another sign that they were not slaves. The tombs, on the Giza plateau on the western edge of Cairo, are 4,510 years old and lie atthe entrance of a one-km (half mile)-long necropolis.A number of years ago,I had the rather unique experience of beingbackstage in Madison Square Garden,in New York, during the RinglingBrothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. To say the least,it was a fascinatingexperience.I was able to walk around looking at the lion tiger giraffes and allthe other circus animals. As I was passing the elephant I suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a smallrope tied to their front leg.No chain no cages. It was obvious that theelephants could,at any time, break away from their bonds but for somereason, they did not.I saw a trainer near by and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.“Well,”he said,“when they arevery young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, atthat age,it's enough to hold them.As they grow up,they are conditionedto believe they cannot break away. They think the rope can still hold them,so they never try to break free.”I was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from theirbonds but because they believed they could not, they were stuck right wherethey were.which the planet really looked like Earth."The research was presented in February at the annualmeeting of the American Association for the Advancement ofScience in Boston.Halophiles, or organisms that can tolerate high-salinitywaters, are known to exist in places on Earth, but they likelyevolved from organisms that lived in purer waters, scientiststhink, making it unlikely that life would actually ariseinitially in extremely briny waters. The high salinity, however, "doesn't rule out life formsof a type we've never encountered," Knoll added, "but lifethat could originate and persist in such a salty setting wouldrequire biochemistry distinct from any known among eventhe most robust halophiles on Earth."Knoll and Tosca also say the finding doesn't rule out thepossibility that less salty waters once flowed on the planet.Name Class Grade。

An underground group led by Zhu Yuan Zang was determined to rid the country of Mongolian dominance. The moon cake was created to carry asecret message.
