CONTENTSPXI Timing and Synchronization Modules Detailed View of PXIe-6674TKey FeaturesNI-Sync Application Programming Interface (API) Platform-Based Approach to Test and Measurement PXI InstrumentationHardware ServicesPXI Timing and Synchronization Modules PXIe-6674T, PXIe-6672, PXI-6683 and PXI-6683H•Generate high-stability PXI system reference clocks and high-resolution sample clocks •Minimize skew through access to PXI-star and PXIe-Dstar chassis trigger lines •Import and export system reference clocks for synchronization between multiple chassis orexternal devices •Achieve synchronization over large distance through GPS, IEEE 1588,IRIG-B or PPS•Develop advanced timing and sync applications with NI-Sync and NI-TClk softwarePowerful, Reliable Timing and SynchronizationNI’s PXI timing and synchronization modules enable a higher level of synchronization on the PXI platform through high-stability clocks, high-precision triggering and advanced signal routing. Implementing timing and synchronization hardware can vastly improve the accuracy of measurements, provide advanced triggering schemes, and allow synchronization of multiple devices for extremely high-channel-count applications. NI’s portfolio includes both signal-based and time-based solutions to deliver the advantages of synchronization to numerous applications.Table 1. NI offers various PXI modules to meet a range of timing and synchronization requirements.*Accuracy within one year of calibration adjustment within 0 ºC and 55 ºC operating temperature rangeDetailed View of PXIe-6674TSlot Compatibility PXI Timing or Peripheral Slot PXI or PXIe Hybrid Peripheral Slot PXIe System TimingSlot PXIe System TimingSlot Oscillator Accuracy*TCXO / 3.5 ppm TCXO / 3.5 ppm TCXO / 3.5 ppm OCXO / 80 ppb DDS Clock Generation Range Not available Not available DC to 105 MHz 0.3 Hz to 1 GHzDDS Clock Generation Resolution Not availableNot available0.075 Hz2.84 µHzPXI 10MHz Backplane Clock Override ● ● ● Clock Import Capability ● ● ● Clock Export Capability● ● ● ● Time-Based Synchronization (GPS, IEEE 1588, IRIG-B, PPS)● ● PXI Trigger Access (PXI_TRIG) ● ● ● ● PXI-Star Trigger Access (PXI_STAR) ●● ● PXIe-Dstar Trigger Access (PXI_DSTARA/B/C)● Front Panel Physical Connectors SMB, RJ45SMB, RJ45SMB SMA PFI Lines on Front Panel3366Key FeaturesHigh-Stability, High-Accuracy Onboard ClockApplications requiring highly reliable and consistent clock signals require a highly stable oscillator to avoid clock inaccuracies. For an NI PXI Express chassis, the oscillator is accurate to 25 parts per million (ppm). Inserting an NI PXI timing and synchronization module into the system timing slot of the chassis enables the user to replace this backplane system reference clock using the higher accuracy oscillator of the module. The PXIe-6672 and PXI-6683 modules contain a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) which can achieve accuracies better than 4 ppm. The PXIe-6674T features an oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) with an accuracy of 80 parts-per-billion (ppb). Note that the PXI-6683H contains the same oscillator as the PXI-6683, but due to its hybrid connectivity is not able to override the backplane clock.Figure 1.By referencing the OCXO on the PXIe-6674T, the 10 MHz backplane clock of a PXI chassis achieves muchlower phase noise and thus more clock stability.PXI modular instruments with phased-lock loop circuits, such as high-speed digitizers and waveform generators, can take advantage of the high-precision clock of timing and synchronization modules. When locking to a high-accuracy reference clock, the instrument inherits the accuracy of the clock, achieving sample clock resolutions as low as 0.5 Hz with an OCXO-based module.Skew Reduction with Star and Differential Star LinesDue to the variation in signal path lengths between slots in a PXI chassis, skew may be introduced when sending clocks or triggers to multiple slot destinations over the PXI trigger bus. To address this, all NI PXI chassis also include trace-length-matched star trigger lines accessible from a timing and synchronization module in the system timing slot. Star trigger lines can reduce skew to a maximum of 1 ns. Additionally, PXI Express chassis include differential star trigger lines capable of minimizing slot-to-slot skew to under 150 ps.Figure 2.While every slot of the PXI backplane may access the PXI trigger bus, the star trigger lines and differential star trigger lines are only accessible through the system timing slot.Time-Based Synchronization with GPS, IEEE 1588, IRIG-B or PPSThe NI PXI-6683 and PXI-6683H timing and synchronization modules synchronize PXI and PXI Express systems through time-based technology or protocols. Time-based modules can generate triggers and clock signals at programmable future times and timestamp input events with the synchronized system time including that of real-time systems. For PXI Express systems requiring time-based synchronization with backplane clock discipline or star trigger access, the PXI-6683H can be combined with the PXIe- 6674T or PXIe-6672 to provide a full-featured synchronization solution.Advanced Routing of Clocks and TriggersUsing a PXI timing and synchronization module provides the capability of advanced routing of clock and trigger signals. Through the combination of system timing slot access and FPGA-based routing, many more source-to-destination routes become possible, allowing more flexible designs and efficient use of system resources.Table 2. The PXIe-6674T timing and synchronization module features a wide vaiety of source-to-destination routes bycombining the power of the PXI Express architecture with the signal-routing capabilities of the onboard FPGA.● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ●●●●●●●NI-Sync Application Programming Interface (API)The NI-Sync driver allows configuration of system timing and synchronization through LabVIEW, C, or .NET. This includes signal-based synchronization, such as sharing triggers and clocks to be used directly, or time-based synchronization, using time protocols such as IEEE-1588, IRIG, or GPS for non-tethered systems. NI-Sync is designed for use with other NI drivers, such as NI-DAQmx, for advanced timing, high channel count, distributed or multiple-instrument applications.DestinationS o u r c ePlatform-Based Approach to Test and MeasurementWhat Is PXI?Powered by software, PXI is a rugged PC-based platform for measurement and automation systems. PXI combines PCI electrical-bus features with the modular, Eurocard packaging of CompactPCI and then adds specialized synchronization buses and key software features. PXI is both a high-performance and low-cost deployment platform for applications such as manufacturing test, military and aerospace, machine monitoring, automotive, and industrial test. Developed in 1997 and launched in 1998, PXI is an open industry standard governed by the PXI Systems Alliance (PXISA), a group of more than 70 companies chartered to promote the PXI standard, ensure interoperability, and maintain the PXI specification.Integrating the Latest Commercial TechnologyBy leveraging the latest commercial technology for our products, we can continually deliver high-performance and high-quality products to our users at a competitive price. The latest PCI Express Gen 3 switches deliver higher data throughput, the latest Intel multicore processors facilitate faster and more efficient parallel (multisite) testing, the latest FPGAs from Xilinx help to push signal processing algorithms to the edge to accelerate measurements, and the latest data converters from TI and ADI continuallyincrease the measurement range and performance of our instrumentation.PXI InstrumentationNI offers more than 600 different PXI modules ranging from DC to mmWave. Because PXI is an open industry standard, nearly 1,500 products are available from more than 70 different instrument vendors. With standard processing and control functions designated to a controller, PXI instruments need to contain only the actual instrumentation circuitry, which provides effective performance in a small footprint. Combined with a chassis and controller, PXI systems feature high-throughput data movement using PCI Express bus interfaces and sub-nanosecond synchronization with integrated timing and triggering.OscilloscopesSample at speeds up to 12.5 GS/s with 5 GHz of analog bandwidth, featuring numerous triggering modes and deep onboard memoryDigital InstrumentsPerform characterization and production test of semiconductor devices with timing sets and per channel pin parametric measurement unit (PPMU)Frequency Counters Perform counter timer tasks such as event counting and encoder position, period, pulse, and frequency measurementsPower Supplies & Loads Supply programmable DC power, with some modules including isolated channels, output disconnect functionality, and remote senseSwitches (Matrix & MUX) Feature a variety of relay types and row/column configurations to simplify wiring in automated test systemsGPIB, Serial, & Ethernet Integrate non-PXI instruments into a PXI system through various instrument control interfaces Digital MultimetersPerform voltage (up to 1000 V), current (up to 3A), resistance, inductance, capacitance, and frequency/period measurements, as well as diode testsWaveform Generators Generate standard functions including sine, square, triangle, and ramp as well as user-defined, arbitrary waveformsSource Measure Units Combine high-precision source and measure capability with high channel density, deterministic hardware sequencing, and SourceAdapt transient optimizationFlexRIO Custom Instruments & Processing Provide high-performance I/O and powerful FPGAs for applications that require more than standard instruments can offerVector Signal Transceivers Combine a vector signal generator and vector signal analyzer with FPGA-based, real-time signal processing and controlData Acquisition Modules Provide a mix of analog I/O, digital I/O, counter/timer, and trigger functionality for measuring electricalor physical phenomena©2019 National Instruments. DatasheetNarda FieldManNarda FieldMan ®All-in-one electromagnetic field meter ranging from 0 Hz to 90 GHzThe Narda FieldMan performs highly accurate measure-ments of non-ionizing high-frequency radiation and low-frequency fields. Equipped with digital probes for measuring electric or magnetic field strengths, it covers the range from static and low-frequency fields in medical and industrial applications to mobile radio frequencies and millimeter waves. Flat frequency response probes (“flat probes”), as well as so-called shaped probes that evaluate the field strength on the basis of a human safety standard are available. Probes with built-in FFT analysis enable spectral measurements along with time domain analyses up to frequencies of 400 kHz. All probes have a digital interface that transmits the measurement data to the basic device in a fail-safe manner. This eliminates the need to calibrate the basic unit.›Non-directional measurement using isotropic probes for applications in the frequency range 0 Hz (DC) to 90 GHz›Large sunlight readable color display 5” diagonal with 1280x720 HD resolution›Digital probe interface for broadband and selective probes – no more meter calibration›Powerful time and frequency domain analysis for low frequency fields up to 400 kHz including Weighted Peak measurements›WiFi/Bluetooth interface for remote operation via smartphone app (Option)›Built-in GPS receiver and rangefinder for easy location determination (Option)›Fast data transmission ›optical interface ›Ethernet ›USB-CApplicationsThe Narda FieldMan is used to make precision measurements to establish human safety, particularly in workplace environments where high electric or magnetic field strengths are likely to occur. An essential task is to demonstrate compliance with generalsafety regulations, such as FCC, IEEE, ICNIRP or EMF Directive 2013/35/EU. Examples of measurement environments are:›Radiocommunication base stations (e.g. IEC / EN 62232)›Broadcasting systems (e.g. IEC 62577)›Radar and satellite communications systems ›Induction heating and melting (e.g. EN 50519)›Household appliances (e.g. IEC / EN 62233)›Electric welding equipment (e.g. IEC / EN 62822)›Railroad operations (e.g. EN 50500)›Automotive operations (e.g. IEC 62764)›Energy supply systems (e.g. IEC / EN 62110)›Electrical medical devices (e.g. IEC / EN 60601)›TEM cells and absorber chambers to demonstrate electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)Digital ProbesA large number of isotropic field probes are available for theFieldMan. All of them transmit their information and measurement data as a digital signal to the FieldMan, either via an electrical USB interface or via an optical COM interface. In this way, interference is significantly reduced compared to high-resistance analog interfaces. The specially developed screw connectors and electrical contacts are extremely robust and resilient. The probes are automatically recognized after connection to the FieldMan. Sensors inside the probe record the temperature of the measuring location and transmit it to the FieldMan display. In addition to the automatic offset correction, the temperature measurement is also used to compensate for the typicaltemperature dependency of the sensor diodes. The advantages are uninterrupted measurements without zero adjustment and higher measurement accuracy over wide temperature ranges. An automatic self-test function can even detect possible errors in the sensor system, which means that additional checking with a test generator is superfluous. Only the digital probes arecalibrated. You can continue to use your FieldMan during this time. There are probes for many different applications with theappropriate frequency and level ranges. The following table gives an overview of common areas of application.Frequency rangeDC up to1 kHzUp to400 kHzUp to400 kHz Up to 30 MHz Up to 1 GHz Up to 6 GHz Up to 40 GHz Up to 90 GHz Up to 50 GHz Field type, magnetic (H) or electric (E)H E+HHHHEEEE ShapedProbe modelsHP-01EHP-50F/G BFD-400-1 (100 cm 2) BFD-400-3 (3 cm 2) HFD-3061 HFD-0191 EFD-0391 EFD-0392 EFD-0691 EFD-0692 EFD-1891 EFD-4091 EFD-5091 EFD-6091EFD-9091EAD-5091EBD-5091ECD-5091EDD-50915G mobile radio / telecommunications Broadcast radio / TVSatellite communications RadarIndustry: Heating and temperingIndustry: Plastics weldingIndustry: Semiconductor productionMedicine: Diathermy, hyperthermyLeak locationHousehold appliances Electric welding equipmentRailroad operationsAutomotive operationsEnergy supply systems Electric medical devicesAccredited calibration includedProbe interfaceOptical connectionDigital probe interfaceFig. 1. Areas of application and suitable probe modelsUse and benefitDuring the development of the FieldMan, special attention was paid to achieving simple, well-structured and fluid operation. The arrangement of many display elements known from smartphones, the self-explanatory symbols and the FieldMan processes, which are perfectly tailored to the measurement tasks, offer maximum ease of use. The large, anti-glare HD color display shows the measured values numerically and graphically with all important additional information in a clear form and is easy to read even in bright sunlight. From simple broadband measurements to sophisticated time signal recording in real time or spectral frequency analysis of low-frequency fields, you have the right operating modes at your disposal.Measurement results can be commented on by text or voice and can be saved as a screen copy at the push of a button. Built-in sensors record the current environmental conditions as well as the position data and automatically add them to the measurement result. The built-in distance meter (option) shows you the measuring height above the ground, which makes the exact positioning of the measuring device much easier. For a better overview, the measurement results can be assigned to freely definable projects, which is particularly helpful when the measurement locations change frequently. If you want todocument your measurement results with photos and videos, the FieldMan smartphone app will help you. For example, the app wirelessly transfers media files created with the smartphone to the project directory on the FieldMan SD memory card. A newly developed, extremely powerful PC software "Narda-TSX" is available for documenting the measurement results, media and other information. It is Narda's new software platform for device configuration, measurement data evaluation and documentation, which in addition to the FieldMan will also support other Narda products in the future.Fig. 2. Specifications with limits (shown as <, ≤, >, ≥, ±, max., min.) apply under the given conditions for the product and are tested during production, considering measurement uncertainty.Specifications without limitsThese describe product performance for the given parameter covered by warranty. Specifications without limits represent values with negligible deviations, which are ensured by design (e.g. dimensions or resolution of a setting parameter). Typical values (typ.)These characterize product performance for the given parameter that is not covered by warranty. When stated as a range or as a limit (shown as <, ≤, >, ≥, ±, max., min.), they represent the performance met by approximately 80% of the instruments. Otherwise, they represent the mean value. The measurement uncertainty is not taken into account. Nominal values (nom.)These characterize expected product performance for the given parameter that is not covered by warranty. Nominal values are verified during product development but are not tested during production. UncertaintiesThese characterize the dispersion of the values attributed to the measurands with an estimated confidence level of approximately 95%. Uncertainty is stated as the standard uncertainty multiplied by the coverage factor k=2 based on the normal distribution. The evaluation has been carried out in accordance with the rules of the “Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement” (GUM).Specifications MetricsElectric and magnetic fieldsMeasurement control and result display for the following probes and analyzers.Frequency range and level range depending on the probe/ analyzer. 500 Series 高级压缩器 限制器说明书

500 Series Compressor/Limiter with Dynamic Presence ControlCOMPRESSOR LIMITER 522##Compact 500 Series premium compressor/limiter with dynamic presence control##Fully variable dynamic presence feature preserves high mid-range frequencies for a more natural sound during compression##Dynamic presence control adds “air” to vocals without introducing noise or pumping effectsand reduces the risk of feedback during live performances##Manual envelope controls with linear peak-sensing compression or easy to use Auto mode with RMS compression##Soft or hard knee compressor response with selection switch ##Sidechain high pass filter with selection switch eliminates undesirable low frequency compression artefacts##High performance electronically balanced input stage with high common-mode rejection##Discrete transistor driventransformer balanced output stage ##Precision gain reduction and signal level metering##True hardware bypass selection switch removes all circuitry from the signal path when compression is not requiredThe COMPRESSOR LIMITER 522 brings state of the industry dynamics control to a compact 500 Series format processor that is good enough to wear the MIDAS name. When used in conjunction with the LEGEND L10, L6, or other standard 500 Series rackmount chassis, the 522 provides the ideal solution for users seeking the legendary MIDAS sound in a modular format that boasts upgraded,premium-quality performance. Additionally, the 522’s dynamic Presence control enables operators to add “air” to vocals without the unwanted noise or pumping effects found in competing products – and reduces the risk of feedback occurrence during live performance.Importance of DynamicsDynamics play a major role in music; they help to convey emotion, whether it’s a sultry blues guitar solo, a vocalist belting out his/her message – or the punchy impact of a bass guitar or kick drum. Those dynamics are the essence of a natural sounding performance; it is what makes music interesting. But out of control dynamics can instantly mar an otherwise perfect performance. That is where compression comes to the rescue – softening loud sounds and boosting low signal levels that can often get lost in the mix. The resulting compressed signal creates a much more dense, impactful sound with richness and room for subtle nuances to come through.500 Series Compressor/Limiter with Dynamic Presence ControlCOMPRESSOR LIMITER 522##Power up mute relays prevent switch on thumps##Premium quality components throughout for a crystal-clear audiophile signal path ##10-Year Warranty Program*##Designed and engineered in the U.K.Manual or Auto ModesWhen operating in its default mode (Auto switch not engaged) the 522 functions as a peak-sensing compressor, providing tight peak control via instantaneous changes in gain reduction, which produces more obvious compression. This allows the operator to manually adjust the compressor attack and release times so that the compressor operates in peak mode with linear attack curves. When the Auto switch is engaged, the manual attack and release controls are bypassed and the compressor operates in RMS mode, automatically adjusting the attack and release based on the averaged input signal andthe threshold/ratio settings. This produces a smooth, more relaxed compression that is perceived as more musical and natural sounding.Variable Dynamics & “Air ”The range of mid-high audio frequencies (centered around 5 kH z) can be boosted to increase the sense of presence of vocals and solo instruments. As 522’s Presence control is adjusted above minimum, those mid-high frequencies are increasingly boosted during compression, allowing a sound or instrument to cut through or seem more present in the mix. This variable presence function enables the 522 to effectively operate with two different ratios, one for low frequencies (LF) and the other for mid-high frequencies (reduced ratio). The primary effects are: heavy compression and dynamic control can be applied withoutsounding unnatural; and the reduced compression in the human ear’s most sensitive range makes the material sound brighter. However, since high frequency (HF) make up gain is not required, unwanted noise, pumping, and howl-round during quiet passages are all greatly reduced.500 Series Compressor/Limiter withDynamic Presence ControlCOMPRESSORLIMITER 522Soft or Hard KneeAnother element that affects how natural the output sounds when compressed is how the signalis addressed at and around the knee, or threshold point. By default the 522 is set to Soft kneecompression (switch out), which tends to sound more natural as it blurs the distinction betweenover and under threshold signals, leaving signals below threshold unaffected, while signals just overthreshold get compressed at greatly reduced ratios. Only at the point where the signal level risessignificantly above the threshold is full-ratio compression applied. This performance is similar to thatof many vintage compressors due to non-linearities in gain reduction. When the Hard knee switchis activated, the 522 operates in a more surgical fashion with a more sharply defined transitionbetween under and over threshold, making it ideal for limiting style compression. In this mode asmall amount of Soft knee is retained to keep the sound reasonably natural.Sidechain HPFCOMPRESSOR LIMITER 522’s Sidechain high pass filter (HPF) switch lets you insert a 200 Hz HPF intothe compressor side chain, which keeps LF signals from dominating overall signal compression –and effectively eliminates the unwanted artefacts and pumping effects on higher frequencies.High Performance Balanced Input StageDecades of experience, paired with the premium-grade components that make up every input stagewe build, ensures the ultimate in signal integrity that is the very foundation of our design process. That warm and organic MIDAS sound has been heard by millions of concert goers – and recordedfor posterity on countless live albums. The input stage of the 522 is second to none with its low noiseperformance, which boasts an enviable Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) of -70 dB @ 1 kHz.500 Series Compressor/Limiter withDynamic Presence ControlCOMPRESSOR LIMITER 522Transistor Driven Transformer Balanced OutputThe output stage of any audio processor is the most critical when it comes to maintaining signal integrity, so the 522 utilises discrete bipolar transistors for both their low distortion and noise characteristics. To finalise the balanced output, a premium quality transformer is employed in order to minimize distortion and maximize clean headroom. 522’s transformer also provides galvanic isolation and generates a more vintage sound, and becomes saturated at lower frequencies to add colour when driven hard.Precision MeteringThe COMPRESSOR LIMITER 522 provides at-a-glance metering with LED stacks that display Gain Reduction and Level independently of each other. The 6 segment Level meter reads from -30 dBu to +20 dBu in 10 dB steps, while the 10 segment Gain Reduction meter reads from -2 dB to -20 dB in 2 dB steps.True Hardware Bypass & Power Up MuteFor those occasions when compression is not needed, 522’s IN switch can be disengaged to remove all circuitry from the signal path via true hardware relay bypass. Additionally, true bypass mode engages should the chassis become accidentally powered down.500 Series Compressor/Limiter with Dynamic Presence ControlCOMPRESSOR LIMITER 522You Are CoveredWe always strive to provide the best possible Customer Experience.
