一、教材分析:
1. 本课复习一些描述动作和人物的词汇,同时,又让学生学习一些新的修饰词和行为词汇。

2. 此年龄段的学生活泼好动、对新鲜事物感兴趣。

教师要灵活采用多种教学形式,调动学生的求知欲。

用对英语的热情来感染学生,让学生体会到英语语言的魅力。

3. 本课的教学重点是掌握与运用men, women, children, people
二、教学建议:
1.教师和学生以“chant”的形式进行复习,在轻松的氛围中,展开教学。

2. 教师可以借助图片或做游戏的方式复习man, woman, boy, girl和baby等单词。

教师可以做两组卡片,一组是图片,一组是对应的单词,让学生在最短的时间内搭配这两组图。

搞一个小竞争,可以激发学生的学习热情。

例如:
a boy a girl one man one woman
2. 教师用(教师在教授名词复数不规则变换时,可以用图画示范。

教师在黑板上画出包括一个男人、一个女人、一个小男孩、一个小女孩的一排速描画,和全班一起读每个单词。

将每种类型的人分别再画一幅。

边读men, women和children,边将单词写在黑板上。

画一个圆把所有的图圈起来,边读边写上people。

在圆圈中再加一些小的人物图,边读边写上many people。


3. 在教授副词quickly, slowly时,教师可以通过实际演示帮助学生理解。

也可以找一些自告奋勇的学生演示快速动作和慢速动作。

教师也可以给学生播放视频,让学生感受并加深对quickly, slowly的理解。

4. 教师让学生分组进行讨论,让学生在小组合作中,感受集体的力量,并加强团队合作意识。

5. 教师要对学生多进行赞美和肯定,帮助学生进一步建立自信,从而激发学生对英语的兴趣。

General Goals for Unit 2
In this unit, Li Ming, his mother, Jenny and Danny see Tian’ anmen Square and the Palace Museum, and they go shopping at Wangfujing. This unit reviews words to describe actions and people, and adds new describing words and new action words to the students’vocabulary.
Specific Goals for Unit 2 Mastery Vocabulary
Students can read, write, say and aurally understand the following vocabulary: Adverbs:
quickly, slowly, loudly, quietly
Adjectives:
easy, hard, many
Nouns:
Camera, picture, everyone
Irregular plural nouns:
Men, women, children, people

Students can say and aurally understand the following vocabulary:

“man,”“woman,”“boy,”“girl,”and“baby”(happy, sad, sick, tired).“leave”and “arrive.”

· Demonstrate the key concepts with drawings. Write and say “men,”“women”and “children.”Draw a circle around all the pictures. Write and say “people.”Add lots of other little pictures inside the circle. Write and say “many people.”
· Point to your poster of men, women, children and people as you say the words with the class.
· Demonstrate“children”and“many”with students. Ask for volunteers to e to e to the
front of the class and lead a dialogue such as:
Teacher:(Ask for a boy volunteer.)Is he a boy?
Class: Yes, he is a boy.
Teacher:(Ask for a girl volunteer.)Is she a girl?
Class: Yes, she is a girl.
Teacher: He is a boy. She is a girl. They are children. What are they?
Class: They are children.
Teacher:(Ask for many volunteers.)Now there are many children! Many children! Say it, please, class.
Class: Many children.
Teacher: Great!
四、Use the student book
· Note that Number 2 in the student book uses “everyone.”(Review the words for them:“Li Ming is hungry. Jenny is hungry. Danny is hungry. Mrs. Li is hungry. Everyone is hungry.”)
五、Practice
· Give mands to reinforce the key vocabulary. Follow the mands yourself when they apply to you. For example:
All boys stand.
All girls sleep.
All children sing!
All men jump!
All women jump!
六、Use the activity book
· Number 3 in the activity book is a listening exercise on the audiotape as follows: Listen. Circle the correct pictures.
a. There are many women in the park.
b. There are many people in the park.
c. There is a man in the park.
d. There are children in the park.
