Step1.Warming-up and leading-in
1.Say a chant(A goodbye chant by Lingling and Amy).
2.Watch the video of Sam and Daming’s talk about going to different schools.
设计意图:通过轻快的吟诵和有趣的对话,活跃课堂气氛,导入本节课的学习内容及话题。
Step2.Pre-reading
1.Free talk:What middle schools do you know? Which schools are you going to?
2.Show the picture of Lingling’s class,then guess and say,“What is Lingling going to do in today’s class?”
设计意图:结合学生实际,谈论他们即将面对的中学生活,让学生能够在真实情境的带入下,激活已有知识及思维,带着问题进入文本阅读和图片解读。
Step3.While-reading 1.Read Paragraph1,answer the mind map questions. Questions:What are they going to do?
Where are they going? How is she feeling?
设计意图:通过问题引导,让学生在问题驱动下,通过阅读梳理基本信息。
2.Read and choose. Read Paragraph2,choose the right answers to the question:“Why is Lingling excited?”.
设计意图:通过选择性问题的设置,训练学生对文本关键信息的分析和思考能力,理解Lingling在本文中excited的原因。
3.Read and fill in the blanks. Read Paragraph3,fill in the blanks and get to know the reason why Lingling is sad.

4.Read and match. Read Paragraph4,match Lingling with the sentences that she says in the speech.
