Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warming up & Revision
1. Greet the class.
2. Oral Communication.
What’s his name? Who is that man? ...
3. Present a picture to review the words about the family
members.
Step 2 Presentation & Practice
1. Present a picture of a house and say Welcome to my home and meet my family.
2. Present a photo of Little Wolf ‘s family and lead to the sentence
Father and mother, I love you. Then teach the word family. 3. Show pictures of Big Big Wolf and say This is my father. He is tall and strong. Lead to say the sentences This is my mother. She is tall and thin. Then point to their pictures and say This is my father. This is my mother. They are my parents.
4. Present a photo and says This is my father’s brother.So this is my uncle! Lead to read the new word uncle. And use the same way to present the new words aunt, cousin.
5. Guess the riddles and practice the words.
6. Present a picture and teach the word baby brother.
7. Play a game What’s missing?to review the words.
8. Listen to the video, and repeat after it. Then try to imitate.
9. Describe the pictures of the family with the sentences She’s tall and strong. She has long hair.
10. Pair work. Introduce your family.
11. Present at the front and praise some Ss.
Step 3 Consolidation & Extension
1. Learn another family members child, daughter, son...by Guessing game, and practice by Chain Game.
2. Draw a family tree to consolidate the words. Help Ss to understand the relationship among the family members well.
3. Tell the Ss East or West, family is the best.We should be a
good child and love our family.
Step 4 Summary & Homework
1. Check the difficulties.
