美文赏析:“The Lilliputians, like us, have learned bad ways __choosing officials because they are able to dance on a rope is just one example.”It shows institutions of every country all have some disadvantage. Like Lilliputians, the way of choosing officials is ridiculous and unfair in that those who possess ability to govern people couldn’t take the position.

The emperor of Lilliput is mean, vainglorious, andcruel.
Folin Nai Pu (Lilliput Kingdom Chancellor of the Exchequer)is suspicious, sinister, vicious and cunning.
感想、评论:The author describes travels to four countries by means of imagination and mocking。In Llliput, Gulliver made great contribution to this country and was appreciated by the emperor. So the officers were jealous of him and spoke ill of him. That shows us that officers intrigued against each other and corrupted。Especially, they elected officials by selecting the best dancers on the rope. It was very ridiculous. In Brobdingnag,Gulliver praised his country for liberal politics and just laws but it was criticized and sneered by the king. In Laputa, the king and his lords were lost in thinking all the day。Moreover, the scientists and scholars studied some unrealistic subjects. In Kingdom Hui Yin,horses pursued truth and rationalism and looked down upon something evil and wicked human beings. So Gulliver admired living with Yahoos and wanted to keep away from human. It seems to be exaggerated but actually it reveals that the conflicts of different Parties were sharp in English Capitalist Society in the 18thcentury and political institutions were very corrupt. In addition, the scientists, philosophers, historians and scholars were impractical and confounded right and wrong at that time。

“Clearly, there is no hope for human beings。I was stupid to think that I could bring reason and truth into their lives and thought Human are all Yahoos, and Yahoos they will remain.”These sentences show that it is difficult for human beings to learn from yahoos and the human world is dark and terrible。
