It can be seen from the graph sales in the three regions remained stable during the first two months with the USA the highest followed by Europe and China. However, after the introduction of kit furniture in March sales in these places changed greatly.
As the results indicate sales in the USA increased gradually from April and reached the highest point in June and then leveled out until the end of the year with approximately 4000 units per month. This finding probably reflects that the Americans are mobile people and the special features of kit furniture enable them to move about more easily and conveniently.
While sales in both the USA and China had a gradual rise after the introduction of kits, there was a sharp decline in
sales in China between June and July after its first peak. The reason for this certainly lies in the shortage of supply. We did not predict that our kit furniture were so popular with the Chinese due to its good quality and reasonable price. After we readjusted the supply, sales in China increased steadily and were almost the same as the sales in the USA in December.
Unlike USA and China, March and April saw a sharp drop in sales in Europe. Sales there did not go through a trough during the rest of the year with only 500 units per month. The decline can probably be accounted for in terms of the conservative character of European people. They seemed to favor our furniture of traditional style.
In conclusion, the kits gained much
popularity in the USA and China whereas experienced depression in Europe. It is worth mentioning that the market of China reveals great potential.。
