我做过的的一次最好的梦 中学英语作文
我做过的的一次最好的梦中学英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Best Dream I've Ever HadDreams are fascinating. They can transport us to realms that defy the laws of reality, where anything is possible. While some dreams fade from memory as soon as we wake up, others linger, leaving an indelible mark on our psyche. One such dream stands out vividly in my mind – a dream so incredible, so vivid, and so meaningful that it has become a cherished memory. It was a warm summer night, and I had drifted off to sleep after a long day of studying and hanging out with friends. As my consciousness slipped into the realm of dreams, I found myself in a vast, otherworldly landscape. The sky was a canvas of swirling colors, with hues of purple, pink, and turquoise blending seamlessly. Towering mountains loomed in the distance, their peaks piercing the celestial canopy like jagged teeth. As I gazed in awe at the surreal surroundings, a voice echoed through the dreamscape. It was warm and comforting, like the embrace of a long-lost friend. "Welcome, my child," the voicesaid. "This is the realm of your deepest desires and aspirations. Here, you can explore the boundless potential of your imagination."Intrigued, I followed the voice, my feet seemingly gliding across the dreamscape without effort. I soon found myself in a clearing, surrounded by a verdant meadow dotted with vibrant, otherworldly flora. In the center of the clearing stood a majestic tree, its branches reaching toward the heavens like outstretched arms.As I approached the tree, a figure materialized before me. It was a majestic, ethereal being, radiating wisdom and benevolence. "Who are you?" I asked, my voice tinged with awe and curiosity. The being smiled warmly, its eyes twinkling with ancient knowledge. "I am the embodiment of your dreams, your hopes, and your desires," it replied. "I am here to guide you on a journey of self-discovery, to help you unlock the boundless potential that lies within you."With a wave of its hand, the being conjured a shimmering portal, its surface rippling like liquid mercury. "Step through this portal," it instructed, "and you shall embark on an adventure unlike any other."Hesitantly, I approached the portal, uncertainty and intrigue warring within me. Taking a deep breath, I stepped through the shimmering surface, and my world exploded into a kaleidoscope of colors and sensations.I found myself standing on a cliff overlooking a vast, pristine ocean. The water sparkled like a million diamonds, reflecting the warm rays of the sun. In the distance, I could see islands dotting the horizon, each one more breathtaking than the last.Suddenly, a magnificent bird swooped down from the sky, its wings spanning the length of a small airplane. It landed gracefully before me, its feathers shimmering with iridescent hues. "Climb aboard," the bird said, its voice resonating with ancient power. "Let me show you the wonders of this realm."Without hesitation, I clambered onto the bird's back, clutching its feathers tightly. With a powerful thrust of its wings, we took to the skies, soaring high above the ocean. The wind whipped through my hair, and the exhilaration of flight coursed through my veins like liquid lightning. We soared over lush, verdant islands teeming with exotic flora and fauna. I marveled at the sight of majestic waterfalls cascading down towering cliffs, their thunderous roar echoing across the dreamscape. Schools of vibrantly colored fish dartedthrough the crystal-clear waters, their scales shimmering like tiny rainbows. As we flew, the bird regaled me with tales of ancient civilizations and lost kingdoms, each one more incredible than the last. It spoke of powerful sorcerers and wise sages, of epic battles and ultimate triumphs. Its words painted vivid pictures in my mind, transporting me to realms beyond my wildest imaginings.Hours seemed to pass in mere moments as we soared across the dreamscape, exploring its wonders and marvels. Finally, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, the bird brought me back to the cliff where our journey had begun. As I slid from its back, the bird fixed me with its piercing gaze. "Remember what you have seen and experienced," it said, its voice echoing with ancient wisdom. "For in this dream, you have unlocked the keys to your own potential. Use them wisely, and you shall achieve greatness beyond your wildest dreams."With a final, thunderous beat of its wings, the majestic bird took flight, disappearing into the crimson sunset. I stood there, transfixed, as the last rays of sunlight faded from the sky, replaced by the twinkling lights of a million stars.Suddenly, a warm presence enveloped me, and the ethereal being from the clearing materialized once more. "Your journey has come to an end, my child," it said, its voice resonating with pride and affection. "You have faced the challenges of this dreamscape with courage and resilience, and in doing so, you have unlocked the infinite potential that lies within you."The being reached out and touched my forehead with its glowing fingertip. "Remember this dream, for it holds the keys to your future. Embrace your dreams, nurture your aspirations, and never lose sight of the boundless possibilities that lie before you."With those parting words, the being faded from sight, and I found myself back in my bedroom, the first rays of dawn filtering through the window. I sat up in bed, my heart racing, my mind reeling from the incredible experience I had just undergone. As I replayed the events of the dream in my mind, a sense of profound clarity washed over me. I realized that the dream had been more than just a fantastical adventure – it had been a metaphor for life itself, a reminder that our dreams and aspirations are the seeds from which our greatest achievements can grow. From that day forward, I vowed to embrace the lessons of that dream, to never lose sight of my hopes and desires, and to pursue my dreams with unwavering determination. For in that incredible, life-changing dream, I had discovered the true power of imagination and the boundless potential that lies within us all.篇2The Best Dream I've Ever HadHave you ever had one of those dreams that felt so incredibly real that you didn't want to wake up? A dream that transported you to another world, sparked your imagination, and filled you with a sense of wonder? For me, that dream happened just a few nights ago, and I can't stop thinking about the magical experience. It all started when I drifted off to sleep after a long day of school and extracurricular activities. My mind slowly disconnected from reality, and I found myself embarking on an extraordinary adventure. The dreamscape unfolded like a vivid movie, with every detail etched into my memory as if it were a real-life event.I found myself standing in a vast, lush meadow adorned with vibrant wildflowers that seemed to dance in the gentle breeze. The sky above was a breathtaking tapestry of colors, with hues I'd never seen before swirling together in perfect harmony. It was as if a masterful artist had painted the celestial canvas with the most exquisite palette imaginable. As I gazed in awe at my surroundings, I noticed a winding path leading deep into a dense forest. Curiosity took hold, and I ventured forth, eager to explore the wonders that lay ahead. The forest was alive with the sounds of nature – the rustling of leaves, the chirping of birds, and the gentle trickle of a nearby stream. After what seemed like an eternity of walking, I emerged from the forest into a clearing unlike anything I could have imagined. Before me stood a magnificent castle, its towering spires piercing the sky, its walls gleaming in the sunlight. It was a architectural masterpiece straight out of a fairy tale, with intricate carvings and ornate details that left me breathless.Drawn by its allure, I approached the castle gates, which swung open as if beckoning me inside. The interior was even more awe-inspiring than the exterior, with grand halls adorned with exquisite tapestries, suits of armor standing guard, and chandeliers that cast a warm, inviting glow.As I wandered through the labyrinth of corridors, I stumbled upon a room that seemed to defy the laws of physics. It was avast library, but instead of shelves filled with books, the entire space was occupied by floating tomes, each one suspended in midair as if by magic. I reached out to touch one, and it gently drifted towards me, its pages fluttering open to reveal a world of knowledge篇3The Best Dream I've Ever HadLast night I had the most incredible dream of my entire life. It was one of those super vivid dreams where everything felt completely real. I was walking down the sidewalk on my way to school like any other morning. The sky was a brilliant blue, the sun was shining brightly, and a cool breeze ruffled the leaves on the trees lining the street. So far, nothing out of the ordinary. As I turned the corner, my jaw dropped. There, parked at the curb in front of my best friend Sam's house, was a gigantic tour bus! The bus was tricked out with flashy paint, fuzzy dice hanging from the rearview mirror, and it even had a hot tub on the roof! The words "Coldplay World Tour" were printed down the side. No way, I thought. Coldplay is my absolute favorite band of all time. This had to be a dream!Just then, the bus door swung open and who should step out but Chris Martin himself, the lead singer of Coldplay. He grinned and waved at me. "Cheers, mate! You're just the person we were looking for. Hop aboard, we're going on tour!" I couldn't believe my eyes or my ears. Was this really happening? I must have been pinching myself a thousand times.I floated up the steps of the tour bus in a daze. The interior was even more incredible than the outside. The floors were plush red carpet, the walls were covered in vintage rock posters, and a massive flat screen TV took up nearly an entire wall. A kitchenette stocked with every sugary snack imaginable was tucked into the corner."Welcome to the Coldplay Mobile, kid!" Chris exclaimed. "We were just about to head off on the road and needed to recruit one more member for our entourage. You're officially the new harmonica player!""But I've never played the harmonica before in my life!" I protested.Chris just laughed. "No worries, I'll teach you everything you need to know on the way. You're a natural, I can already tell."With that, the bus roared to life and we took off down the road. The other band members, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Phil Harvey, were all lounging around looking effortlessly cool in their skinny jeans and vintage tees. They all gave me high fives and welcomed me aboard. Our first stop was a sold-out stadium show in New York City. We rolled up to Madison Square Garden as thousands of fans thronged the streets, hoping to catch a glimpse of the band. I could hardly breathe from the excitement and nerves. Me, playing harmonica for Coldplay in front 20,000 people? This was madness! But the second I stepped out onto that massive stage, picked up my harp and started playing the opening riffs to "Viva La Vida," it all felt completely natural. The crowd erupted into deafening cheers and I was in my element. We played all the hits - "Paradise," "Clocks," "Fix You," "Yellow" - and I nailed my harmonica solos every time. I was a rock star! After the show, Chris and the guys congratulated me on an epic performance. We celebrated by taking a late night dip in the hot tub on the roof of the tour bus, gazing at the twinkling lights of the New York skyline. Pinch me, I was living the dream! From there, we traveled all across the country playing in huge arenas from Boston to Los Angeles. Everywhere we went, we were mobbed by hordes of adoring fans looking for autographs and selfies. We even had to travel with a security team to keep the crowds under control! In between shows, we got into all kinds of rock star hijinks. We pulled crazy pranks on each other, went go-karting through the streets of Chicago in the middle of the night, and got into a massive food fight at a fancy restaurant in Dallas. Even when we were just hanging around on the bus playing video games and strumming our guitars, we were having the time of our lives.Eventually, the whirlwind tour had to come to an end. On the final night in Las Vegas, we rocked a 3-hour set in front of a sea of thousands of waving lighters and cell phone lights. As the last encore came to a close and we took our bows, I realized this adventure was just the beginning for me and Coldplay. Afterwards, Chris took me aside backstage."You were incredible out there tonight, and this whole tour has been a blast. What do you say...want to make this a permanent gig? Become the official fifth member of Coldplay?"Could this dream possibly get any better? I must have jumped about a foot in the air, cheering and pumping my fist."Are you kidding, of course! This is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. I'll play harmonica for you guys forever!"Chris grinned and gave me a high five. "That's the spirit, kid. Get ready, because this is only the start of what's sure to be an epic rock and roll odyssey!"At that moment, everything started getting blurry and fading to black. No, no, I didn't want this dream to end! I tried grabbing onto the last wisps of the dreamy scene, but it was no use. I could faintly hear the sound of my mom calling me to wake up for school. Noooo!I sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from my eyes in disappointment. It had just been an incredible dream, but it felt so unbelievably real while it lasted. I sighed wistfully, wishing I could return to that fantastical world where I was the harmonica player for my favorite band, traveling around the world and playing to thousands of screaming fans every night.Guess I'll just have to keep on dreaming. But for those few hours last night, I was living the absolute best dream a middle school kid could ever imagine. If only it could have lasted forever! Oh well, maybe if I'm really lucky, I'll get to be a rock star again when I fall asleep tonight. One can always dream...。
Mr.Good_大学英语作文
Mr. GoodI could鈥檝e kicked myself for chasing a woman bass player all the way to Cincinnati: a month after I got there, I left her for a twenty-three-year-old grocery clerk. A few weeks later that was over, too, and I didn鈥檛 even have money for a bus ticket back to Dallas. I hadn鈥檛 been able to find a gig since I鈥檇 moved.I tried finding work in a music store, and then started applying anywhere and everywhere鈥攆ast food, motels, convenience stores鈥攁nd finally to stay out of a homeless shelter I had to pawn the only one of my guitars worth much, a 1965 Gibson Hummingbird. I stayed drunk for two days. Then I started working day labor so I could get it back. I was mixing mortar and carrying bricks, which I hated because it messed with my hands. The second week I smashed a thumbnail.Everyday I went to the pawnshop to make sure the guitar was still there. The owner looked like a vaguely degenerate antique dealer in a movie. He wore a vest.Every morning I got up at five and made the half-hour walk to the temp service, a trailer set up in a gravel lot. The place looked like a used car dealership without any cars and the owner was a big thick guy named Purcell who was quick to let you know he was retired Navy. The whole set up was pretty shady. Pay was always in cash and you had to get there before dawn to get a job. Except for me the crowd was all Mexican, illegals I鈥檓pretty sure. They stayed to themselves, so I鈥檇 stand alone while we waited for Purcell to show up and smoke and drink coffee and think about how I was going to smash the guitar over a low brick wall once I got it back. My father gave it to me when I was eighteen. One afternoon, 1979, when my high school let out hewas in the parking lot sitting on the hood of an old Lincoln he鈥檇 parked sideways across five spaces. You couldn鈥檛 miss him any way you looked. He was dressed in the same outfit Hank Williams was buried in. I hadn鈥檛heard from him for seven years.I told my friends I was supposed to meet with a teacher and went back inside and hid in the bathroom鈥擨 figured if I waited long enough he鈥檇 leave. The janitor ran me out of there so I wouldn鈥檛 interfere with his drinking. I killed some time walking the halls, then fooling at my locker. Finally the assistant principal who was locking up made me leave. He was still outside. It was deserted now. He smiled and waved."Thought that was you I saw," he said. "Figured I鈥檇 wait."I nodded. I didn鈥檛 know what to say."I hear you鈥檙 e getting ready to be a high school graduate," he said.I nodded again."That鈥檚 real good." He cocked his head, looking at me and smiling. "Your grandma don鈥檛 mind your hair being that long?""She hasn鈥檛 said anything.""First time I came in with a duck tail she chased me with the scissors." He took a pack of cigarettes from his inside coat pocket and rapped it on his knee and a single cigarette jumped halfway out, and if he hadn鈥檛 been my father that would鈥檝e been cool as hell.He wanted to go get a hamburger. The inside of the Lincoln smelled like a strip club at six AM. The radio was missing. I reminded him how to get to McKenna鈥檚, a place that had curb service. After we got our drinks he poured part of his Coke outthe window and filled it back up from a pint of bourbon he pulled from under the seat. He offered me the bottle but I shook my head."Don鈥檛 drink?" he asked.I shrugged. He nodded. "Don鈥檛 seem to talk, either."After seven years that crawled all over me. I turned away and stared out my window."Ah son," he said, "I know, I know. I . . . well," and then I heard his cup slosh. I was looking out at a station wagon where a woman was handing around soft serve cones to her kids. A little boy in the backseat was looking back at me."Your grandma tells me you鈥檙e playing now," he said."Yeah." I still didn鈥檛 look at him."What鈥檙e you doing?"I was in a bad cover band that played sock hops and dances at country clubs. I鈥檇been listening to Earl Klugh and Wes Montgomery, too, trying some of that out."Not much," I said. The boy pulled his nose up with his thumb and grinned. He had braces. His mother had on a green scarf."I guess you don鈥檛 go in for Bob Wills and such," he said."No," I said."Not many do anymore," he said. "That鈥檚 why this car鈥檚 such a piece of shit."Then neither of us said anything. A long minute passed, then another. The little boy kept making faces between licks of his cone. Then the mother caught him. After a glance at me, she jerked him around by the collar.I heard him splash bourbon into his cup again. Then the car hop brought the tray with the food and hung it on his window and I felt like I could finally turn around."Anything else?" she asked. She was bleach blond and pudgy 鈥擨 recognized her from school a couple years back but didn鈥檛 know her. She had on white jeans and a pink shirt with the tails tied into a knot below her breasts. When you looked at her all you saw was stomach."You all got any ice cream left in there?" he said."Sure," she said."Then get you one and charge it on my ticket. Girl who looks sweet as cake needs some ice cream to go with her."She giggled."Or maybe you want a drink of this special Co鈥?Cola instead?" he asked. She leered, looked left and then right. "Sure," she said. He handed her the cup and she ducked her head and took a drink."When they let you off here?" he said."Not soon enough," she said. "The horse鈥檚 ass that runs the place keeps us here half the night.""Well, we鈥檙e big boys," he said. "We get to stay up late."I opened my door and got out. He looked around. "Hey, where you going?"I shut the door. My eyes met the girl鈥檚 over the roof of the car, then I ducked my head in the window. "I鈥檝e got to go," I said. "I鈥檒l see you," and I started away from the car."Hey!" he yelled. But I didn鈥檛 turn around. He yelled a couple more times but I kept going. When I was far enough away I looked back. The girl was still standing at the Lincoln.I was hoping he鈥檇 be waiting outside the house when Igot home. He wasn鈥檛.A week later a notice came from Martin鈥檚 Drugs saying I had a Trailways package. It was a cardboard box wrapped in brown butcher鈥檚 paper and tied with string, light to carry but about the size of Shakespeare鈥檚coffin. When I got it home and opened it I found a new calfskin guitar case packed in newspaper and inside that was the Hummingbird. The guitar was in good shape, but the words Mr Good were scratched in tall letters on the back of the body. In the bottom of the case was a note:SonI wont you to have this a fine instrumint i bought it new in 1965. Maybe somday we can play together i can teech you some Bob wills. The only thing about it is i got no idee how the writing got on the back i woke up in a motel in oddessa tex 8 yeer ago and it was almost nite and their it was this is stil a good guitar.DadI hadn鈥檛 heard from him since. If he was alive he鈥檇 be sixty-three, and the older I got the more I wished I could see him. We鈥檇 have something to talk about now that I鈥檇 made every mistake he had.Once I was living with a psychologist and she started ribbing me after she saw how I took such good care of the Gibson. Better take Mr. Good to soccer practice, she鈥檇 say, or Mr. Good says he wants to order Chinese. If she hadn鈥檛 been so good-looking I wouldn鈥檛 have put up with her鈥攕he鈥檇 come home after counseling all day and make astrology charts on her clients and smoke pot. She finally drank enough coffee one morning to think to ask how I got the guitar. I told her the story about my dad."That鈥檚 cute," she said.I just stared at her."What is it?" she said.I shook my head."No, what is it?" she asked, almost hysterical."Nothing," I said. "Just looking at your hair."* * *It was cold. I was in Purcell鈥檚 lot, smoking, drinking coffee, half-listening to the Spanish talk all around me. I had seven hundred dollars in my socks鈥攁fter getting paid today I鈥檇have enough to get the Gibson back, and after Monday and Tuesday I鈥檇have enough to go back to Dallas鈥攁nd then suddenly an angry shout came from behind the trailer, then another. The lot quickly fell silent. Then the Spanish started up again and most of the men walked over and looked behind the trailer but as soon they did they started leaving, some running, and in about two minutes the place was deserted except for me.I kept watching the trailer, about fifteen yards away. Nothing.I couldn鈥檛 hear anything either but the hum of the arc lights. I didn鈥檛 know what to do. I was kind of scared, but I had to try to work that day, no matter what, so I decided to stay where I was and wait for Purcell to show up. I started to light another cigarette, then footsteps sounded on the gravel and a man staggered around the side of the trailer. He was clutching his side and when he saw me he said something in Spanish. He was big, at least three hundred pounds, and looked like a bear coming toward me. Then he just stopped and stood there. I could hear his breathing. He sank to his knees like a camel sitting down and fell over. For about a hundred and fifty dollars I would鈥檝e left. But there weren鈥檛 any philanthropists in the vicinity. I went over tohim. He had rolled onto his back and when he saw me standing over him he started talking in Spanish. He had a rip in the side of his thin jacket and there were dark stains around it. I took off my denim coat and kneeled down, and when he saw what I was doing he moved his hands and let me use the coat as a compress. Some warm blood soaked into the denim, but not much. He seemed more panicked than anything. He just kept on jabbering. Then I heard other voices. Two Mexicans were standing a few yards away, at the edge of the light."Habla ingles?" I called out."No much, no much," the taller of the two said.I got him to hold the jacket in place and right away he and the injured man started talking, arguing it sounded like. I ran the three blocks to the store where I made a point of buying my coffee every morning because I liked the way the clerk looked. I asked her to call 911."Sorry, the phone鈥檚 not public," she said."Are you kidding?" I said. She shook her head. "That鈥檚 the rule.""But a guy鈥檚 been knifed or something."She hesitated, then looked at her watch, a pink thing the size of a coaster. "My manager鈥檚 due here any minute now and he says you can鈥檛 let the phone thing get started or people鈥檒l be asking to use it all the time." She looked over my shoulder. "Could you move, please?"I stepped over but stayed at the counter and an old black guy in a baseball cap moved up and gave her numbers for a lottery ticket."So you鈥檙e not going to call?" I said."No," she said.I went outside and picked up the receiver on the pay phone on the side of the building and put it to my ear even though I knew it was dead. I asked two people going into the store if they had cell phones鈥攂oth shook their heads, though one had his in a holster on his belt. Then I ran back to the temp service because there wasn鈥檛 another payphone nearby and I didn鈥檛 know what else to do.Purcell was there. He had his headlights directed onto the scene and he stood in their beams next to the injured man and the two Mexicans who were squatting over him. The shorter one, who I could now see was an older man, was crying."I can鈥檛 have this kind of helling going on here," Purcell was saying."Mr. Purcell," I said.He jerked his head around and squinted into the headlights. "Hey, who鈥檚 there?" He recognized me. "So did you see what happened here?""No. I just tried to call an ambulance but I couldn鈥檛 find a phone."He waved like he was shooing a fly. "I checked him, he doesn 鈥檛 need one. It鈥檇 be a waste of the taxpayers鈥?money. All he鈥檚 got is a little lard sliced off." Then he put his hands on his hips and stared down at the man. He had on a white short sleeve shirt and a dark tie; I had never seen him in a coat, no matter the temperature. "Hey," he said loudly and all three Mexicans looked up at him and he spoke to them in broken Spanish. The tall one holding my jacket answered.According to Purcell鈥檚 translation: the two Mexicans who had stayed were from the same town in Mexico as the injured man, and the older one was his uncle or cousin or something. Two days ago the tall Mexican had heard that the injured man鈥攚ho looked at least thirty鈥攈ad gotten someone鈥檚 teenage daughter pregnant. The tall Mexican wasn鈥檛 sure who the girl was, but he鈥檇 heard there鈥檇 been a blow up with her father."I didn鈥檛 think there was anybody left who cared about that," Purcell said. He took out a pack of Juicy Fruit and put a stick in his mouth. He stared down at the man, his face a brown study.I crossed my arms and hugged myself. I was freezing."This has implications," Purcell said."We should probably call an ambulance," I said."We might do that," he said. "But we鈥檝e got to move him off this property first."I didn鈥檛 say anything, but Purcell jerked his head around like I had."Just because this pussel-gut decides to tap some Mexican cheerleader, I should have to pay double and triple on my liability insurance? And as for the police," he said, "what鈥檇 you think: Columbo鈥檚 gonna show up here at dawn?" He pulled a wallet-on-a-chain out of his back pocket and started speaking Spanish again. When he finished all three Mexicans nodded. The old one wiped his eyes with the back of his hand. Then Purcell took out two fifty-dollar bills and handed one to each of the two squatting men. They both spoke to the injured man, patted him on the shoulder, then stood up and left. Purcell bent over the injured man and slipped two bills into his pants pocket. He spoke to him and the man answered. Purcell replied, his voice angry. The man shook his head back and forth on the ground. Purcell started cursing in English. He turned to me, "Sack of shit says he can鈥檛 get up.""Huh," I said.Purcell gave the man a little kick in the hip and said something in Spanish. Then he grabbed the man鈥檚 arm and tried to haul him up. He didn鈥檛 budge. He was dead weight. Purcell dropped his arm. "All right," he said, "you get his shoulders and I鈥檒l get his legs," and he stepped around the man to his feet. I didn鈥檛 move.He waved. "Come on, let鈥檚 go.""That鈥檚 my coat there," I pointed."Yeah? So?" he said."It鈥檚 ruined," I said. His expression deadened as he figured it out, which took about two seconds. He shook his head and cursed again. He took out his wallet and handed over a fifty."I need a hundred more," I said.If either of us had been smoking the whole block would鈥檝e exploded. "Listen," he said, "I wouldn鈥檛 be paying anybody anything if I could speak enough Spanish to make these tacos understand if they don鈥檛 do what I say I鈥檒l tell the police whatever I want. But even though you鈥檙e a goddamn briar you understand me, don鈥檛 you?""The police might hassle me on your sayso," I said, "but that 鈥檚 about all they could do. And think about it. If I do end up talking to them, I鈥檓 such a briar I might let it slip how you run a straight cash business."He turned his back to me and started muttering. He stayed that way at least a half-minute. Then he turned back around holding out five twenties. His mouth was very tight.Lifting the man was like picking up one end of a rowboat full of water, if you鈥檝e ever done that. We carried him ten yards, rested, then went the last ten yards to the street. Purcell droppedthe man鈥檚feet and stayed bent over with his hands on his knees, huffing and puffing. He glanced up at me, then unhooked his key ring from his belt and tossed it and it hit the sidewalk right in front of me and I had to do a skip to keep it from hitting my feet. "Move my car up to the trailer," he said.I looked at the keys, then at him. "What?" I said."Do it, or I鈥檒l tell the cops you robbed me." He took his cell phone out of his back pocket."Why do you want me to do it?" I said."Just because I do," he said."Forget you," I said."All right," he said and punched a button on the phone, and that鈥檚 when I thought of the seven hundred dollars in my socks and how great it would look on a guy without a coat. The car was a Cadillac in name only. The last time it looked good Eddie Murphy was funny. I slid under the wheel, but didn 鈥檛 close the door so the rooflight would stay on and I could find things. The seat was too far up for me to fit my feet to the pedals, so I reached down to find the lever and my hand hit a bottle under the seat. It was a half-pint of Jack Daniels and all that was empty was the neck. I unscrewed the cap, bent over like I鈥檇 dropped the keys and took a drink, then sat up again. The glove box was missing its door, a cigar with an inch of dead ash was in the ashtray, a single porno playing card was in the passenger seat, a woman who looked like she was waiting for surgery to begin. I turned the card over: seven of clubs. I bent over and took another drink. I was thinking of the last time I saw my father鈥攐ne of these old boats always did that.I discovered the seat wouldn鈥檛 move, so I managed to get situated with my legs splayed out on either side of the steeringwheel. I shut the door, then pulled the car up in front of the trailer and cut the engine and the lights. I stuck the half-pint down the front of my pants. Then I looked in the rearview mirror: Purcell was still at the curb, under a streetlight, standing over the injured man talking and gesturing. It looked like he was haranguing a corpse.I leaned over to get at my pants pocket and took out the hundred and fifty and put it on the dash behind the steering wheel. I just couldn鈥檛abide the idea of having to think of Purcell everytime I played the Gibson. I would鈥檝e rather seen it in the hands of Campfire Girls. The pawn shop opened a half-hour before the liquor stores. I鈥檇 been waiting in a coffee shop across the street. I had the Gibson鈥檚 empty calfskin case and a Epiphone in its case. I was going to pawn the Epi which would give me the last fifty I needed to get the Gibson back, plus another sixty or seventy. That much would get me to Shreveport, and I figured I knew enough people in Dallas I could find someone who鈥檇 drive out and get me.I went in the pawn shop, the bell ringing over my head, and right away I noticed the Gibson wasn鈥檛 on its stand in the line of guitars that sat on a high shelf in the back. Holding the two cases I suddenly felt like an idiot in a Norman Rockwell painting. The empty one felt light enough to throw through the display window. The owner was still wearing his pea coat and was at the back of the long shotgun room behind a line of jewelry cases to my left. He came up front."It鈥檚 gone," he said. "Girl bought it last night not long after you came in."I set down the guitar cases."She paid cash so I don鈥檛 know who she was," he said.I asked him what she looked like."I wouldn鈥檛kick her out of bed for eating crackers," he said.I kept looking at him. I couldn鈥檛 believe he had said that. Then he gave a police blotter description of the girl鈥攜oung, long brown hair, skinny, pale, wearing jeans and a green jacket, said he wouldn鈥檛call her pretty exactly. I asked him, if she came back in, to give her my name and the place where I roomed and to tell her I鈥檇 pay to get the Gibson back. I said I鈥檇 pay him, too, for doing that."Once I tell her, you got no reason to pay me," he said."That鈥檚 true," I said."A twenty ought to take care of it," he said.I felt so beat I didn鈥檛 argue. I squatted down and lifted my pants leg to get at my sock. The bell rang and a guy in a dirty overcoat and came in and set down a kit bag and started pulling out barber tools. I stood up and the owner took my twenty. I picked up my guitar cases and left.Walking down the street, freezing, I realized I could take the money I had and buy a coat and a bus ticket and be back in Dallas by midnight or I could stay in Cincinnati and buy a coat and try to find the Gibson. I thought about it three seconds and decided to stay.I can play guitar pretty well. And I鈥檝e spent twenty years worth of afternoons in libraries killing time before gigs so I know the difference between Augustine of Hippo and all the other Augustines and I know that even if we do come up with a unified field theory it isn鈥檛 going to change a damn thing. 不要在大学校园里做低头族英语作文
不要在大学校园里做低头族英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Don't Be a Phone Zombie at University!Hi there! My name is Jimmy and I'm 10 years old. I love playing video games, reading comic books, and hanging out with my friends. My older cousin Sarah just started university last year and she told me something super important that I want to share with you all.Sarah says there's this really bad thing happening at her university where everyone is always staring down at their phones, not paying any attention to what's going on around them. She calls them "phone zombies" and says it's becoming a huge problem! Can you imagine being surrounded by zombies everywhere you go? With their heads hung low, eyes glued to those little glowing screens, mindlessly tapping and scrolling? It sounds totally scary if you ask me! I'd be terrified to step foot on campus. But these aren't gross zombies with rotting flesh and glowing eyes like in the movies. These zombies look just like regular students - except they can't seem to peel their eyes away from their phones for even a second. Whether they're walking across the quad, sitting in the library, or even in the middle of a lecture, they're just endlessly staring at their phones. It's like they're in a total trance!Sarah says it's really distracting and makes it hard for her to focus in class when she sees everyone typing away and watching videos instead of listening to the professor. She paid a lot of money for her classes, so she wants to make sure she gets her money's worth by learning as much as possible. It's also just really rude and unsafe to be so distracted all the time. Sarah has seen people bump into things, trip over curbs or even walk right into fountains because they weren't watching where they were going. Ouch! She's even seen people get their phones and belongings stolen because they were totally oblivious to their surroundings.Sarah worries that people will start to miss out on actually experiencing university life if they have their faces buried in their phones 24/7. Instead of making new friends, joining clubs, orappreciating the beautiful campus around them, they're just living through a tiny screen. How sad!Apparently there's even some research showing that being constantly glued to your phone can hurt your concentration, productivity and ability to learn and retain information. Sarah doesn't want all her hard work and efforts to go to waste because she can't stop mindlessly scrolling through social media. That's why Sarah has vowed to be a lot more mindful about her phone usage at school from now on. She's going to make an effort to stay present, keep her phone tucked away, and soak up all the amazing experiences university has to offer. She's challenging her friends to do the same by leaving their phones in their bags or dorms as much as possible.Because here's the thing - university is supposed to be one of the most fun, vibrant and eye-opening chapters of your life! It's a special time to gain more freedom, discover new interests, meet lifelong friends, and prepare for your future career. But you'll miss out on so much if you spend those precious years as a phone zombie, oblivious to the incredible world around you.So my advice? Don't let yourself become a phone zombie when you go to university! Put down your device, look up and engage with the amazing people and place around you. Bepresent, be social, be curious and get the full university experience. After all, you're paying a ton of money and have worked so hard to get there - so make sure you truly appreciate every moment of it.Those are just my thoughts as a 10-year-old kid who doesn't want to see his older cousin or any other students wasting away their lives as phone zombies. Stay alive, alert and in the moment instead! Your future is waiting for you out there in the real world, not through a tiny screen.篇2Don't Be a Phubber on CampusHi everyone! My name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. Today, I want to talk to you about something that really bugs me - phubbing on campus. You might be wondering, what's phubbing? Well, it's when you snub someone in a social setting by looking at your phone instead of paying attention to them. Get it? Phone + snubbing = phubbing!I see phubbing happening all the time when I visit my older brother Dan at university. He'll be hanging out with his friends, and instead of chatting and having fun together, they're all just staring at their stupid phones! Their heads are bent down, theirthumbs are tapping away, and they're not even looking at each other. It's like they're in their own little phone worlds, totally oblivious to the real people around them. So rude!I think phubbing is really bad because it's disrespectful and it makes people feel unimportant and ignored. Like, if I was trying to tell Dan something and he was just scrolling on Instagram instead of listening, I'd feel pretty crummy about it. Also, when you're busy phubbing, you miss out on actually experiencing life and enjoying quality time with your friends and family. The special moments are happening right in front of you, but you're too busy staring at a screen to appreciate them.Another reason phubbing is the pits? It can be really unsafe, especially on a busy campus with lots of people walking around. I've lost count of how many times I've seen someone bumping into things or nearly getting hit by a bike because they were too distracted by their phones to pay attention. You could drop your phone and break it, or worse, seriously hurt yourself by not watching where you're going. No text is worth endangering your safety over!Phubbing is also terrible for your posture and physical health. Have you seen the way phubbers contort themselves, hunching over their phones with their necks bent at crazy angles? It puts somuch strain on your back, shoulders, and neck muscles. Trust me, you do not want to end up as a hunchbacked 80-year-old because you spent your whole life looking down at your phone. Believe me, it's not a good look! And let's talk about what phubbing does to your actual phone use. I bet a lot of phubbers don't even realize how many hours per day they spend mindlessly picking up their devices, just out of habit. Before they know it, two hours have gone by and they've just been zoning out on social media or playing dumb games. That's just so much wasted time that could have been spent doing literally anything else - studying, exercising, pursuing hobbies, or you know, actually experiencing the world around you.I get that phones and technology are a big part of our lives nowadays, but we need to be careful not to let them take over completely. When you're spending time with people who care about you, put your phone away and be present. Listen to what they're saying, look them in the eye, and actually engage with them as human beings. Trust me, having real face-to-face conversations and making genuine connections is so much better than being glued to a screen 24/7.If we want to stop phubbing on campus, it's going to take some discipline and willpower. Maybe you could make a rule not to check your phone for an hour after meeting up with friends, or you could designate certain areas as no-phone zones. Find ways to gently call out your friends if they start phubbing during your hangouts, like saying "Hey, this is kind of an important conversation, could you put your phone away for a bit?" Leading by example is important too - if you stay off your phone, hopefully your friends will follow suit.At the end of the day, phubbing is just really impolite and it prevents you from being fully engaged in your life. We're lucky enough to live in a time with all this amazing technology at our fingertips, but we can't let it consume us. When you're at university making lifelong friends and memories, keep your eyes, your mind, and your heart open to those around you. Don't be a phubber - be present.篇3Don't Be a Bent-Neck Person on Campus!Hi there! My name is Tommy and I'm a 4th grader. I really look up to university students because they seem so smart and mature. But I've noticed something kind of weird and dangeroushappening when I visit my cousin at his college. Lots of students are walking around starring down at their phones instead of looking where they're going! These "bent-neck people" are everywhere on campus. My mom calls people who walk while staring at their phones "pedestrians with their heads down" or "bent-neck people." She says it's really unsafe to be a bent-neck person because you can't see where you're going and might run into stuff or other people. I've seen bent-neck people at the mall slam right into walls or potted plants because they weren't looking up. Once I even saw a bent-neck lady fall right into the mall fountain because she was texting and not paying any attention! She got soaked and everyone laughed at her. It was funny but also kind of sad.At my cousin's university, I see bent-neck people everywhere - walking across the quad, going into buildings, even riding bikes while looking at their phones! That seems really, really dangerous to me. If a bent-neck bike rider isn't looking where they're going, they could crash into someone or something so easily. I don't know why anyone would risk getting hurt like that just to check their Instagram or whatever.I asked my cousin why all the university students arebent-neck people and he said it's because they're addicted totheir phones and social media. He said they feel like they have to be checking for new messages, notifications, and updates all the time or they'll miss out on something important. A lot of his friends can't even watch a movie without checking their phones a bunch of times! That sounds pretty sad to me. Are new Instagram posts really that much more fascinating than real life? When I'm out playing with my friends, the last thing I want to do is waste time staring at a screen. I'd miss all the fun going on around me!There's nothing wrong with using your phone sometimes, but bent-neck people take it way too far in my opinion. It's dangerous for themselves and rude to the people around them. These bent-neck students are so focused on their digital world that they're not paying any attention to the real, physical world they're wandering around in.For example, I was in the student center with my cousin last week and we had to keep dodging bent-neck people aimlessly shuffling around without looking up. They kept drifting right into our path because they weren't watching where they were going at all! One girl even walked right into me and then acted surprised, like I was the one being rude and in the way. Hello? I'm a little kid just standing there and you plowed right into mebecause you wouldn't look up from your stupid phone screen! My cousin had to yell at her to pay more attention to her surroundings.Another time, I saw a bent-neck guy taking forever to order food at a campus restaurant because he couldn't be bothered to look up from his phone long enough to read the menu and place his order. So rude to the workers! As a customer, you should be present and ready to order when it's your turn. Not scroll endlessly through TikTok with your head buried in your phone. That guy made everyone's line take much longer because he was more interested in his phone than in actually getting his food and getting out of the way for other hungry students.Bent-neck people are also a safety hazard on roads and parking lots because they might not see cars coming. I've seen bent-neck pedestrians wander right out into the street without looking both ways because they had their faces glued to their screens. So dangerous! A driver could easily hit someone who stepped out into traffic like that. My dad always says bend-neck pedestrians are just asking to get run over by a car or truck that they never saw coming.I also think being a bent-neck person on campus is just kind of sad. Your years at university should be full of really amazing,mind-expanding experiences! You're surrounded by cool people, activities, classes, and opportunities that you'll never get again once you're out in the "real world." Why would you want to miss any of that by zoning out into your phone all the time?Whenever I visit my cousin, I love seeing all the neat things around campus that bent-neck people are obliviously shuffling right on past. Like the amazing statues, trees, architecture, and landscaping. Not to mention fun events like frisbee games, concerts, rallies, and fundraisers that bent-neck people completely zone out as they wander around in their phone trances. There's so much cool stuff happening that you'd miss if you had your face glued to a screen! Bent-neck people are missing out on so many of the best parts of university life.I really hope that when I'm older and finally a university student myself, I won't become a bent-neck zombie like a lot of the people I see on campus now. It looks so silly, hazardous, and sad to me. When I'm at college, I want to be fully present and engaged with what's happening in the real world around me! I'll use my phone for practical things like looking up info, getting directions, or making plans with friends. But I definitely won't be one of those bent-neck people wandering around like a moleperson who's forgotten how to look up and experience the world right in front of them.University should be all about having an incredible,mind-expanding experience full of learning and exploration. You're surrounded by so many amazing things to soak in and people to connect with. Why would you want to cut yourself off from really living that experience to the fullest by burying your head in a little screen? When you're young, healthy, and getting an education at an amazing place, being a bent-neck zombie focused on your phone just seems like such a waste to me.So student bent-neck people, I'm begging you: Look up from those stupid little screens for once and enjoy the rich, vibrant university life that's happening all around you! Don't be a tragic bent-neck zombie shuffling through one of the most exciting periods of your life without ever really experiencing it. When you're old and gray someday, you'll wish you could go back and re-live your university days to the absolute fullest - not weigh yourself down with regrets about how many amazing real-life moments you mindlessly let pass by in a phone-induced daze.Remove the bent neck, my friends! Look up and drink in the world. You're at university, after all - a place that's supposed toopen your mind and broaden your horizons. Don't let a simple phone stop you from soaking up every second of this incredible journey!篇4Don't Be a Phoney on Campus!Hey guys! I'm here to talk about something really important that's happening at universities. It's about being addicted to your phone and always looking down at the screen instead of where you're going. The grown-ups call it being a "phone zombie" or "phubbing" but I just call it being a big phoney!I saw it myself when I went to visit my big sister at her college last month. Everywhere I looked, there were students just shuffling along, heads down, staring at their phones. They weren't watching where they were going at all! Some of them even bumped right into things like lamp posts or trash cans. A couple of them almost stepped out into the road without looking because they were too busy tapping away on their screens. It was crazy! My sister said it's a huge problem and that professors are always complaining about students being distracted and not paying attention in class because they're texting or playinggames under their desks. She said some kids even try to use their phones to cheat on tests by looking up answers online! That's definitely not cool. Cheating is for big phonies.I can kind of understand being bored during a long lecture and wanting to look at your phone. But you're supposed to be in class to learn, not to chat with your friends about what movie to see this weekend. Pay attention, phoners! This is your education we're talking about here. Your parents are paying a ton of money to send you to college so don't waste it by zoning out and missing all the important stuff. And that's just in the classroom. Everywhere else on campus, the phone zombie phoners are a total hazard! They're like little kid bumper cars, drifting around and crashing into anyone or anything that gets in their way. No lie, I saw one guy walk right into a big puddle because he had his face glued to his phone. Soaked from head to toe! My sister said a lot of them have actually fallen into water fountains and stuff because they're just not watching where they're going. How phoney is that?Don't get me wrong, I love my phone and Pokemon Go as much as the next kid. But there's a time and place for it. When you're walking around on campus, you gotta look up and pay attention! Those cyclists can come out of nowhere if you're notcareful. Speaking of bikes, my sister said she's seen tons of phone zombies almost get flattened because they stepped out into a bike lane without looking first. Yikes! The other thing that gets me is when you're hanging out with someone and they're just ignoring you to stare at their phone instead. My sister's friend Jenna does that all the time and it drives her crazy. They'll be having a conversation and then Jenna's phone buzzes so she just stops listening and starts texting away while my sister is still talking to her. How rude!If I was there, I'd be like "Hey Jenna, quit being a phoney and answer me when I'm talking to you!" My dad always says it篇5Don't Be a Head-Downer on Campus!Hey there, fellow students! It's me, your friendly neighborhood kid, here to share some important wisdom with y'all. Today, we're going to talk about a serious issue that's been bugging me lately – the dreaded head-downers!You know who I'm talking about, right? Those people who constantly walk around campus with their heads buried in their phones, oblivious to the world around them. They're likezombies, mindlessly shuffling from one place to another, eyes glued to their screens. It's a real problem, and it's time we did something about it!Now, don't get me wrong, I love technology as much as the next kid. Heck, I spend hours playing games on my tablet and watching funny cat videos on my phone. But there's a time and place for everything, and when you're on campus, it's time to put those devices away and engage with the real world.Think about it, folks. How many times have you seen someone walking straight into a lamppost or tripping over a curb because they were too busy texting? It's a dangerous game, and it's not just embarrassing – it's downright hazardous! We've got to look out for each other, and that means keeping our heads up and our eyes on the road. But it's not just about safety, my friends. There's so much more to life than staring at a screen all day. When you're on campus, you're surrounded by incredible opportunities to learn, grow, and make new friends. How are you supposed to do that if you're constantly buried in your phone?Imagine walking across the quad on a beautiful sunny day, and instead of enjoying the fresh air and the laughter of your classmates, you're glued to your Instagram feed, mindlesslyscrolling through pictures of people you don't even know. That's no way to live, my friends!Or what about those times when you're in the cafeteria, trying to have a conversation with your buddies, but everyone's too busy typing away on their phones to actually listen to each other? It's like you're all in your own little bubbles, disconnected from the world around you.And let's not even get started on the dangers of texting while walking. How many times have you seen someone nearly get hit by a car or a bicycle because they were too busy typing out a message to look where they were going? It's a recipe for disaster, my friends, and it's time we put a stop to it.So, what's the solution, you ask? Well, it's simple: put down your phones and embrace the real world! When you're on campus, make a conscious effort to stay present and engaged with your surroundings. Look up, smile at the people you pass, and take in the sights and sounds around you.Strike up conversations with your classmates, join a club or a study group, or just take a few minutes to sit on a bench and enjoy the fresh air. Trust me, it'll do wonders for your mental health and your overall well-being.And when you do need to use your phone, be mindful of your surroundings. Find a safe spot to stop and take care of whatever you need to do, whether it's checking your messages or looking up directions. Just don't be one of thosehead-downers who puts themselves and others at risk. So, there you have it, my friends – a heartfelt plea from your friendly neighborhood kid to ditch the head-downer ways and embrace the beauty of the world around you. It's time to put down our phones and start living in the moment, one step at a time.Who's with me? Let's make a pact right here, right now, to be more present and engaged on campus. Let's be the generation that says "no" to mindless scrolling and "yes" to real-life connections and experiences.Together, we can make our campus a safer, happier, and more vibrant place to be. All it takes is a little bit of effort and a whole lot of determination. So, what do you say? Are you ready to join the movement and say goodbye to the head-downers once and for all?Let's do this, my friends! The future is bright, and it's waiting for us to embrace it with open arms and open eyes. Let's makethe most of our time on campus and create memories that will last a lifetime.Who's with me? Raise your hands high, fellow students, and let's make a difference together!篇6Don't Be a Head-Downer on University CampusesHi everyone! I'm super excited to tell you all about something really important today. You know how we're always being told not to walk while looking down at our phones and devices? Well, that's even more true when you're at a university campus! Let me explain why.University campuses are like these huge, sprawling places with lots of buildings, pathways, trees, and people walking all around. It's really easy to get distracted and not pay attention to where you're going if your face is buried in your phone. And that can be really dangerous!I'll give you an example. Let's say you're trudging along, eyes glued to your screen, watching a hilarious cat video. You're giggling away, not looking where you're headed. Suddenly, WHAM! You slam right into a big stone pillar because。

恐怖的笑话和故事英文
恐怖的笑话和故事英文Terrifying Jokes and StoriesIn the realm of horror, one commonly seeks to encounter suspense, fear, and a sense of dread. However, a lesser-known aspect of the horror genre is the ability to elicit fear through the unexpected combination of humor and terror. In this article, we will explore a collection of terrifying jokes and stories that encompass both laughter and chills, showcasing the unique power of this sinister fusion.1. The Haunted Laughter ClubOnce upon a time, in a small town plagued by terrifying paranormal activity, there existed a peculiar laughter club. Its members gathered every night, not to share jokes, but to exchange spine-chilling tales that sent shivers down their spines. They cherished the uncanny and embraced the fear that resided within each story. Laughter intertwined with horror as they bonded over their shared fascination with the macabre. One particular evening, as the clock struck midnight, the laughter club congregated in an ancient, dilapidated mansion—a place rumored to be frequented by ghosts. The members shivered with delight, waiting to share new terrifying tales. Little did they know that the spirits of the mansion were eagerly listening, craving the taste of fear that exuded from their stories.2. The Demonic ClownIn a small carnival town, a man named Jake came across a flyer for a newly arrived attraction—The House of Horrors. Out of pure curiosity, Jakeventured into the haunted house, unaware of the unsettling presence that lurked within. As he navigated the winding corridors, a demonic clown materialized before him, brandishing a sinister smile. Jake's heart raced with a mix of terror and adrenaline."Tell me, old chap," the clown sneered. "Why did the ghost go to therapy?"Jake's mind reeled as he scrambled to form an answer."Because it had a grave addiction!" the clown cackled maniacally, as his figure morphed into a puddle of black ooze, seeping into the floor. Jake's blood turned to ice, paralyzed by the horror and the clown's twisted joke.3. The Eerie Puppet ShowIn a forgotten theater tucked away amidst cobweb-covered streets, the puppeteer, Mr. Mortimer, put on a clandestine performance. The puppets danced eerily on their strings, their hollow eyes gleaming with malevolence. Each marionette possessed a horrifying personality that shared ghoulish tales and wickedly funny one-liners.As the show progressed, the audience gradually realized that they were not merely spectators, but participants entangled in a ghastly game. The puppets strayed from their fixed strings, roaming through the darkness, their laughter piercing the air. The audience quivered, caught between fits of nervous laughter and genuine terror, uncertain of where the line between fiction and reality blurred.4. The Sinister Comedy ClubDeep within the city's underbelly, a hidden comedy club existed—a place where twisted souls gathered to indulge in dark humor. The audience, adorned with unsettling smiles, arrived each night, yearning for jokes that chilled them to their core. The comedians took the stage, seizing the crowd's attention with their unnerving presence and their knack for delivering jokes that simultaneously provoked a chuckle and a hair-raising shudder.Their punchlines, dripping with eerie wit, left the audience in a state of bewilderment. Their laughter echoed through the club, mingling with the air of unease that permeated the room. Each night, as the club closed its doors, the audience departed with a lingering sense of trepidation, their laughter transforming into an eerie refrain that followed them through the misty streets.ConclusionIn the twilight zone where humor and horror intersect, these terrifying jokes and stories weave a tapestry of spine-chilling intrigue. Laughter and terror unite, offering a unique experience that stimulates both amusement and fear. The allure and power of these terrifying tales lies in their ability to manipulate emotions, leaving us unable to discern whether we should laugh or scream.。

观看热辣滚烫电影后中考英语作文题目全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Spiciest Movie Ever!Last weekend, my parents let me watch a really intense and exciting movie called "The Scorching Battles." I had been begging them for weeks to let me see it because all my friends had watched it and said it was the most thrilling movie ever! My mom and dad weren't sure if I was old enough since the movie was rated PG-13 for "intense sequences of action violence." But I promised to cover my eyes during any super scary parts. When the movie started, I could hardly believe howaction-packed it was right from the beginning! The main character, Blazing Bob, is a brave firefighter who has to rescue people from all kinds of dangerous fires. In the first scene, he raced into a burning apartment building and carried out a little girl while flames licked at his heels. I was already on the edge of my seat! Then Blazing Bob got called to put out a huge wildfire raging through the dry forest outside town. He had to parachute from ahelicopter into the middle of the blaze! Can you imagine how scary that must have been? Fiery trees were crashing down all around him as he battled the roaring flames with just his hose and ax. I actually had to cover my eyes a few times because it looked so frighteningly real. But the most intense scene of all came when Blazing Bob's nephew accidently got trapped in a burning chemical plant. Noxious green smoke was pouring out and there were explosions going off everywhere! Blazing Bob didn't even hesitate - he just raced inside, found his nephew, and carried him out through the billowing smoke. He was such a hero!By the time the movie ended, I felt like I had just gone on the wildest roller coaster ride. My heart was pounding from all the excitement! There were so many edge-of-your-seat moments when I honestly didn't know if Blazing Bob would make it out alive. The special effects were also amazing - the fires looked incredibly realistic and dangerous. Some parts were maybe a little too intense for me. I definitely had to close my eyes a few times when things got extra spicy and fiery. The scene in the chemical plant made me jump more than once from all the surprise explosions. And I'm kind of glad the movie didn't show what happened to a few of the badguys who got trapped in the flames - I can only imagine how painful that would have been!Overall though, I absolutely loved "The Scorching Battles" even if it was a bit too hot to handle at times. Blazing Bob is my new favorite action hero because he was so brave and never gave up no matter how impossible the fires seemed. My friends were right - this might just be the most intense, thrilling, and spiciest movie I've ever seen! I can't wait to watch it again, but maybe I'll keep a glass of ice water nearby to help me cool off during the really heated parts. If you love action, suspense, and fires so hot they'll make you sweat, then you have to see "The Scorching Battles." Just get ready for an incredibly fiery and wild ride! It will definitely light a blazing fire under you. This movie is too hot to handle!篇2The Greatest Movie Ever - Hot Hot!Oh my gosh, you guys! I just watched the most amazing, awesome, fantastic movie of all time! It's called "Hot Hot" and it's seriously the coolest thing ever. My big brother took me to see it at the theater last weekend and I couldn't believe how totally radical it was!The movie is all about these firefighters who have to save people from burning buildings and stuff. But get this - they're not just regular firefighters. They're like, super firefighters with incredible magical powers! When fires get really huge and dangerous, they can transform into these awesomefire-controlling superheroes. It's insane! The main character is this guy named Blaze. He's the leader of the fire crew and man, is he ever cool. Blaze can shoot fireballs from his hands and make force fields to protect people. His costume is so sick too - it's bright red with yellow flames all over.I definitely want that action figure for my birthday!Blaze's best friend is a dude called Inferno. He's just as powerful, maybe even more so. Inferno can fly by creating jet streams of fire from his feet. How crazy is that?! He also has this flaming sword that he uses to cut through anything. I would not want to mess with Inferno, that's for sure. But my absolute favorite character is Scorch, who's this brave young firefighter that gets trained by Blaze and Inferno. At first, Scorch is just a rookie with no powers. But then there's this epic battle against the main villain (who's disgustingly evil by the way), and Scorch gets struck by a magic fire crystal that gives him the most insane abilities ever!Suddenly, Scorch can control any fire with his mind. He makes walls of flames, hurls fireballs, you name it. And get this - he can even reshape his body into anything by turning himself into living fire! At one point, Scorch turns into a huge fiery dragon and totally destroys the villain's lair. It was the most mind-blowing, fantastically awesome scene I've ever witnessed on the big screen.Basically, the whole movie is non-stop action from beginning to end. The special effects are unbelievable, with crazy realistic fire everywhere. And the storyline is so clever and exciting, with mystery and surprises at every turn. I don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say the ending is going to blow your mind!I can't rave enough about how unbelievably epic "Hot Hot" is. Everything about it is perfect - the superheroes, the action, the humor, the lessons about courage and friendship. You'd basically have to be living under a rock to not have heard about this movie already.Obviously, when I had to write an essay for my English exam last week, I knew exactly what to focus on. The prompt was "Write a review about your favorite movie." Well, duh, of course I wrote all about the awesomeness of "Hot Hot!"My teacher said she was blown away by my vivid descriptions and personal passion for the film. She could really tell that "Hot Hot" made a huge impression on me. I explained all the coolest scenes, like when Scorch became a dragon and when Inferno used his flaming sword. I also analyzed the characters and their arcs, like how Blaze taught Scorch to be brave no matter what.I definitely got an A+ on that essay thanks to "Hot Hot!" The movie gave me so much incredible source material to work with. My imagery was on point, my vocabulary was fire (get it, fire?), and I packed it full of all the juicy plot details. What more could an English teacher want?Hopefully my essay convinces you how insanely amazing "Hot Hot" truly is. You'd be straight up crazy to not go see it immediately. Like, drop whatever you're doing right now and get yourself to the nearest theater, stat! This movie is a certifiable work of genius that deserves all the praise and attention in the world.Just wait until the action figures, video games, and breakfast cereal inevitably get released. "Hot Hot" is 100% going to be the hottest new franchise for all ages. I'm already practicing myfirefighter moves in the backyard for when the live stunt shows start touring. A kid can dream, right? So pleeeease, do yourself a favor and experience themind-melting awesomeness of "Hot Hot" as soon as humanly possible. You won't regret it, pinky promise! I'm officially obsessed and I have a feeling you will be too once you see it. This film is nothing short of篇3My Hot Hot Heat Movie ExperienceWow, you guys! I just watched this super cool movie called "Hot Hot Heat" and I have to tell you all about it. It was so awesome and exciting that I can't stop thinking about it!The movie is about these three best friends - Tommy, Luis, and Jamal. They live in a small town where nothing much happens, but then one day they accidentally get their hands on this super powerful artifact that can control fire! At first, they think it's just a cool toy, but little do they know the crazy adventures that are about to come their way.So Tommy, Luis and Jamal start messing around with the fire artifact, making little flames appear and stuff. But then things getway out of hand when the artifact's powers go bonkers and a huge fire starts in the middle of their town! The whole place is in chaos with buildings burning down and people running around screaming. It was so intense! That's when the real adventure kicks off. The three buddies realize they're the only ones who can control the crazy fire with the artifact. So they have to become like these brave fire-fighting heroes to save their town from being burnt to a crisp! But it's not easy because there's this bad guy who also wants the artifact for his evil plans. So our heroes have to fight the fires and the bad guy at the same time. Talk about a challenge! There are so many awesome scenes where Tommy, Luis and Jamal are using the artifact's powers to put out massive fires or create barriers of flames to stop the bad guy. My favorite part was when they made this huge fire tornado that swept up the villain - that was epic! The special effects were mind-blowing too. The fires looked so real, I could almost feel the heat coming off the screen. But the movie isn't just about the action and fires. It's also about friendship. Despite all the craziness happening, Tommy, Luis and Jamal always stick together and have each other's backs. They argue sometimes like real friends do, but in the end theirbond is so strong that they can take on any challenge united. It was really inspiring to see. There are funny moments too that had me laughing out loud. Like when the artifact makes Luis's clothes randomly catch fire and he has to stop, drop and roll. Or when Jamal tries to act all cool in front of his crush but the artifact makes his hair get singed. Classic!I don't want to spoil the ending for you, but let's just say our heroes save the day in a spectacular way that will have you cheering. Although the town is a bit charred, the most important thing is that true friendship triumphs over everything. After the movie ended, I just sat there with my mouth open in amazement. "Hot Hot Heat" has definitely become one of my all-time favorite films. It has non-stop action, awesome visual effects, funny jokes, and a heartwarming story about friendship. What's not to love?I'm already bugging my parents to buy me the DVD so I can watch it over and over again. Who knows, maybe I'll even dress up as one of the characters for Halloween! A kid can dream, right? So if you're looking for a super entertaining movie that will keep you on the edge of of your seat, look no further than "Hot Hot Heat". Just make sure you're good at stopping, dropping and rolling, in case any fires break out in the theater. Haha, I'm kidding! ...Kinda.This movie gets two heat-blasted thumbs up from me. Go watch it right now, you won't regret it! Until next time, friends...TO THE FIRES!篇4A Hot, Hot MovieWow, did I have an adventure this weekend! My parents took me to see the new movie "Molten Mayhem" and let me tell you - it was hot, hot, hot! I don't just mean the special effects with all the fire and lava either. The whole experience was sizzling from start to finish. We got to the movie theater and the lobby was packed! There were kids running around everywhere. I could smell the buttery popcorn and hear the slushy machine whirring behind the concession stand. My dad bought us this gigantic tub of popcorn to share. I'm not kidding, it was bigger than my head! When we went into the theater, it was like a maze trying to find our seats. The place was so crowded, with people squeezed into every row. We had to do that awkward sideways shuffle, saying "excuse me, pardon me" about a hundred times just to get to our seats in the middle. I got squished between my parents, which is never fun for a kid my age trying to get my independence, you know? But then the magic happened - the smash-hit superhero movie "Molten Mayhem" started playing! From the very first scene, I was hooked. The story follows Lavaboy, who has amazing powers to control molten rock. In the beginning, Lavaboy is just a normal kid named Timmy who gets made fun of a lot. But then he falls into a volcano on a school field trip and develops his fiery abilities! The special effects were mind-blowing. Whenever Lavaboy used his powers, these crazy streaks of red, orange and yellow light would streak across the screen. The animators really went all out trying to make the molten rock look as real and melty as possible. A couple times I could have sworn I actually felt a wave of heat coming from the screen! That's how realistic the CGI was.My favorite part was about halfway through when Lavaboy has to stop an evil villain from using a laser drill to intentionallytrigger a massive volcanic eruption and bury the entire city in lava. Lavaboy and the villain have this epic showdown inside the volcano's crater, hurling fireballs at each other and battling with streams of scorching magma. The whole scene had me sitting on the edge of my seat!In the end, Lavaboy is able to cool down the villain's evil plot (get it?) and save the day. The movie had a ton of funny jokes for kids but just enough action and suspense to keep adults entertained too. I've got to give the writers a high-five for being able to strike that perfect balance of comedy and superhero thrills. "Molten Mayhem" really did have something for everyone in the family to enjoy. When the credits started rolling, I actually felt a little bit sad that the excitement was over. My parents and I joined in the thunderous applause with the rest of the audience. As we were leaving the theater, I couldn't stop talking their ears off about which of Lavaboy's fire powers was the coolest, or how awesome the climactic battle scene was. They seemed happy I had such a great time.I'm already bugging my parents to take me back to see "Molten Mayhem" again this weekend. A movie that insanely action-packed and wildly imaginative deserves multiple viewings,am I right? If you haven't had a chance to experience this superhero thrill-ride for yourself yet, do yourself a favor and get to the theater as soon as possible! "Molten Mayhem" is a blockbuster that will blow your mind. It's super hot, in the best way possible!篇5My Epic Movie AdventureI just had the craziest experience ever! My parents took me to see this movie called "Hot Hot Movie" and it was so intense. I didn't really know what to expect going in, but I definitely didn't think it would be like that. The movie is about these daring firefighters who have to rescue people from all kinds of huge fires and explosions. The special effects were off the charts! There were gigantic fireballs erupting everywhere and towering infernos that seemed to stretch up to the sky. The sound of the roaring flames was almost deafening in the theater. I jumped out of my seat a few times when surprise explosions happened. The firefighter characters were really brave and heroic. They would rush into burning buildings without even hesitating, dodging falling debris and blasts of searing heat. A few times Iwatched them carrying unconscious victims out of the smoke just in the nick of time before big explosions. Their fire trucks were also wicked cool, with their sleek red paint jobs and all the high-tech equipment. I want to be a firefighter when I grow up just like them! But as intense as the action sequences were, there was also an interesting personal storyline with the firefighters and their families. One of the main characters was struggling because his wife didn't want him risking his life so much battling crazy fires all the time. You could really feel the tension and tough choices he had to make. His little daughter was so cute too - she kept making me laugh with her funny one-liners. Even among all the heart-pounding fire drama, the movie did a good job making you care about the characters.I have to admit, some parts of the movie were a bit scary for me. A couple of the fires got pretty out of control and seemed impossible for the firefighters to survive. And when the villain started deliberately setting new fires to strain the resources of the heroic firefighters, I got really worried someone might not make it. The villainous arsonist was terrifying and creepy - like a real-life nightmare person. I'm just glad the good guys were able to stop him in the end.But even with those scary parts, I absolutely loved Hot Hot Movie! It had me onthe edge of my seat the whole time, gripping my armrests during the most intense scenes. I must have jumped a foot in the air at least five times from shocking explosions or close calls. My heart was pounding like I had just run a marathon by the end credits. What a wild ride!So after that adrenaline-pumping experience at the theater, you can imagine my surprise when my English teacher announced we had to write an essay about the movie for our exam! I groaned at first, not looking forward to trying to capture the awesomeness of Hot Hot Movie on paper after being so immersed in it. But the more I thought about it, the more I got excited to take on the challenge. This could be my chance to really bring the reader into the heart of the action.I decided to structure my essay by highlighting the most gripping and memorable scenes, really focusing on painting those with lots of vivid details and imagery. That way I could try to get the reader's blood pumping just like mine was in the theater. For the opening, I'll set the stage by describing thehair-raising arsonist villain and his diabolical fire-starting scheme to take down the brave firefighters. Then the bulk of the essay will be about three of the most epic, mind-blowing fire scenesthat had me holding my breath. I'm going to attempt to make the reader feel the scorching heat, tumbling debris, and general chaos of being inside those blazing infernos right alongside the heroic firefighters. For the biggest showdown between the good guys and villain at the climax, I'll make sure to capture all the intense dialogue and tense moments when it seemed the day might not be saved. And I'll close it out with a sentimental wrap-up highlighting the strong family bonds and perseverance of the firefighters that allowed them to ultimately prevail. With any luck, my vivid play-by-play will make the reader feel like they were on the edge of their seat right there with me in the theater. This is probably the most fired up I've ever been to write an essay! I just hope I can do Hot Hot Movie justice and really make my English teacher's jaw drop with my ability to transport them into the heart of the story. It's going to take every ounce of my descriptive writing skills, but I'm totally up for the challenge. An ordinary book report wouldn't篇6Here's a 2000-word essay in English, written from the perspective of an elementary school student after watching the movie "Hot Stuff":My Wild Movie ExperienceWow, where do I even begin? I just watched the most intense, action-packed, and downright crazy movie ever – "Hot Stuff"! It had everything a kid could want – explosions, car chases, and enough spicy moments to make me sweat like I was sitting in a sauna. But let me start from the beginning. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon, and I had just finished my chores (yeah, I know, chores are the worst). My parents said I could pick any movie I wanted to watch as a reward. Being the adventure-seeking kid that I am, I immediately went for the one with the most fire on the cover – "Hot Stuff"!The moment the movie started, I knew I was in for a wild ride. The opening scene featured the hero, Jack Blazing, running away from a massive fireball while carrying a tiny kitten in his arms. How cool is that? Jack was like a real-life superhero, with muscles bigger than my dad's and a jawline sharper than a freshly sharpened pencil. As the story unfolded, I learned that Jack was a former firefighter-turned-secret-agent, tasked with taking down a diabolical villain named Dr. Inferno. This guy was bad news, let me tell you. He had a plan to melt every iceberg on the planet, causing a massive flood that would wipe out all of humanity. Talk about a hot-headed scheme!Jack had to traverse through scorching deserts, icy tundras, and even an active volcano to stop Dr. Inferno's dastardly plans. With every obstacle, the action just kept getting more intense. There were car chases that made my heart race like I had just run a marathon, fistfights that had me clenching my fists in anticipation, and stunts so crazy that I'm pretty sure Jack should have been a stunt double in real life. But amid all the chaos, there were also some heartfelt moments that tugged at my heartstrings. Jack had a love interest named Samantha, and their chemistry was smokin' hot (pun totally intended). They would share these tender moments in between all the explosions and chaos, reminding us that even in the midst of chaos, love can still find a way to bloom.I won't spoil the ending for you, but let's just say that Jack saved the day in the most epic way possible. It involved a giant hose, a bucket of ice water, and a whole lot of bravery. By thetime the credits rolled, I was on the edge of my seat, covered in sweat, and feeling like I had just been through an emotional roller coaster. After the movie ended, my mind was racing with thoughts and emotions. I couldn't believe how much had happened in just two hours! I immediately started replaying my favorite scenes in my head, imagining myself as Jack, battling villains and saving the world from certain doom.As I reflected on the experience, I realized that "Hot Stuff" wasn't just a mindless action flick. It taught me valuable lessons about courage, determination, and never giving up on what you believe in. Jack Blazing was a true hero, willing to put everything on the line to protect the people he loved and the world he called home. So, if you ever get the chance to watch "Hot Stuff," do it! Just make sure you have a glass of ice water nearby because this movie is guaranteed to make you sweat. And who knows, maybe it'll inspire you to become a real-life hero too (just don't try any of the stunts at home, okay?).。

Soccer is basically the best thing ever and I'm totally obsessed with it now!It all began when my friend Jake invited me to join his recreational soccer team. I had never really played soccer before, except for a little bit during gym class at school. But Jake said I should try it because I'm a fast runner and have a lot of energy. My mom signed me up and I got my very first soccer uniform - it was a red jersey, black shorts, and red and black striped socks. I was so excited to be on a real team! The first practice was kind of awkward. I didn't know any of the rules or skills besides just kicking the ball around. All the other kids seemed to know way more than me already. But our coach was really nice and he went over all the basics with us - how to dribble the ball by tapping it with our feet, how to pass to teammates by kicking it over to them, and how to try to score agoal by kicking it into the net. We did lots of drills practicing those fundamental skills over and over again. In our first game, I was honestly pretty clueless about what was going on most of the time. The other team was much better than us and the ball seemed to just zip past me while I was still figuring out where to run. But I hustled as hard as I could and never gave up chasing the ball. I was so tired by the end!Over the next few weeks of practices and games, I could feel myself steadily improving bit by bit. Dribbling became more natural, my passes started finding my teammates more often, and I even got some shots on goal that the goalie had to save. Our team was still losing most of our games, but at least it felt like I was contributing a little more each time. Then one game, something just clicked for me. I can't even describe what it was, but I suddenly felt like I could read the game better and make smarter decisions on the field. It was like the game slowed down in my mind. When I received the ball, instead of just wildly kicking it somewhere, I was picking good spots to dribble or pass to an open teammate. I was making runs to get open for a pass. On defense, I was able to anticipate where the ball was going and step in front of it.The coach started putting me in as a forward more often because I was getting in good positions to score goals. That game, I scored not just one, but TWO goals! They weren't exactly pretty or from very far out, but I'll never forget the feeling of smacking that ball into the net and seeing it bounce in. My teammates mobbed me and I felt like a superstar! From then on, soccer just became easier and more automatic for me. Maybe it's because I was so much more confident in myself after that breakout game. Maybe the skills had just finally clicked after enough practice and repetition. Whatever the reason, I absolutely fell in love with soccer. It combined so many things I enjoyed - running around, strategizing, pulling off skilled moves, scoring exhilarating goals, being part of a team, and competing hard. This past season was definitely my best one yet. I led my team in scoring and we even made it to the championship game (though we ended up losing). I practiced my skills for hours in the backyard, formed good chemistry with my teammates, and kept getting stronger and faster. The coach told me I could definitely play in a more competitive league if I wanted to.Who knows, maybe I'll pursue soccer more seriously as I get older and end up being a professional player someday! For nowthough, I'm just extremely grateful that my friend Jake invited me to try out this amazing sport a few years ago. Soccer has taught me so much about hard work, resilience, reading the game, and being a team player. I've made lots of new friends, gotten great exercise, and had a total blast along the way. I can't wait for next season to lace up my cleats and get back out on that pitch!篇2My Super Soccer SeasonHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm going to tell you all about the soccer season I just had. It was my first time ever playing soccer on a real team and I had such an awesome experience! It all started last summer when my mom saw a flyer for soccer tryouts at the community center. She knows how much I love running around and kicking things, so she thought I might enjoy giving soccer a shot. I was a little nervous because I had never played before, but I decided to go for it.The tryouts were fun but also kind of stressful. There were a bunch of kids there and we had to do all these drills - dribbling the ball through cones, passing back and forth, and shooting ongoal. The coaches were watching us closely and making lots of notes. When it was all over, I wasn't sure if I had made the team or not. My mom said she could see I had tried my best and that's what mattered most.A few days later, we got an email saying I made the team! I was so excited. My mom took me to the sports store to get all my gear - cleats, shin guards, soccer ball, and an awesome jersey. I couldn't wait for practices to start. Our first practice was super fun but also really tiring. We did a ton of running, dribbling drills, and scrimmaging. By the end I could barely stand up I was so exhausted. But I loved every minute of it! Our coach, Coach Maria, was nice but also pushed us to work really hard. The next few weeks were filled with more practices after school. Little by little, I started getting better at dribbling, passing, and shooting. We worked a lot on communicating with our teammates and positioning ourselves on the field. It was a lot to learn but I tried my best to soak it all in.Then finally, after what felt like forever, it was time for our first game! We were playing Against the Red Rockets, who were supposed to be one of the tougher teams. On game day, I was a bundle of nerves. What if I messed up? What if I fell or got hurt?My parents could see how worried I was, so they gave me a big pep talk about just having fun and doing my best. The game was CRAZY! Both teams were running all over the field, fighting for every loose ball. There was tons of shouting, cheering from the parents, blown whistles from the referee. I don't remember much from that first game except pure chaos!Somehow in the middle of all that madness, I scored my first ever goal. One of my teammates dribbled down the field and crossed it in front of the net. I just happened to be in the right spot at the right time and poked it past the goalie. The feeling was incredible! All my teammates rushed over to hug me and celebrate. I felt like a superstar. We ended up losing that game 3-2 but I didn't even care. Just scoring one goal was enough to make my entire year. From there, the season became a total blast. We practiced hard all week, played tough games on the weekends, and very slowly started winning more than we lost. Scoring felt amazing every time, but I also loved making a killer pass or saving a shot on our defensive end. Soccer was not just about scoring goals - it required every player working together as a unit out on the field.Another highlight was our team party at the end of the season. We all gathered at Coach Maria's house, chowed down on pizza, and got awards and trophies. I won the award for Most Improved Player since I had basically gone from knowing nothing about soccer to becoming one of the starters who never wanted to leave the field. Receiving that trophy made me so proud of all the progress I had made over those few months. In the end, we finished the season by making it to the playoff semifinals before losing to the eventual champions. While it would have been awesome to win the whole thing, I tried not to let the final defeat ruin the incredible ride I had been on.Playing soccer taught me so much about working hard, dealing with failure, cooking together as a team, and just plain old having fun through sports. I made some great friends, stayed in shape, and can't wait to go out next season and continue improving my game. For any kids out there thinking about trying a new sport like soccer, I say go for it! Don't be afraid to push yourself outside your comfort zone. Getting some exercise, learning new skills, and being part of a team is an amazing experience. You might start off as a total newbie like I did, but stick with it and embracethe journey. who knows, you might just become a superstar athlete! So yeah, that's my soccer story in a nutshell. Hopefully my reminiscing didn't bore you too much. Just do me a favor and get off your phones/tablets for a little bit and go kick a ball around outside. You might just discover your new favorite thing!See you on the pitch!Jamie篇3My Awesome Adventure With BasketballHey friends! Today I want to tell you all about my super cool experience playing basketball. Basketball is like, the best sport ever in my humble opinion. I started playing a couple years ago and I've been obsessed ever since! It all began when my older brother John started playing basketball for his middle school team. I thought he looked so cool dribbling the ball up and down the court and making those epic shots. I was like "Wow, I wanna do that too!" So I kept bugging my parents to let me play basketball and finally they signed me up for a local youth league. At first, I was pretty terrible, not gonna lie. I could barely dribble the ball without it going out of control and bouncing everywhere. And my shots? Forget about it! I'd heave the ball towards the hoop and it would go flying miles off target. My teammates were so much better than me. I felt like giving up because I was embarrassed by how bad I was.But then my coach Frank pulled me aside one day and said "Listen up little dude, you've got potential. You just need to practice every single day and never get discouraged." His pep talk really inspired me. So I started practicing my dribbling and shooting for hours every day after school. My parents got me a basketball hoop for our driveway and I would just go nuts out there acting like I was Michael Jordan.Slowly but surely, I started seeing improvement. My dribbling got tighter and more controlled. My shooting started becoming more accurate from close range. And then one glorious day, I finally hit a three-pointer! It was only about 10 feet away, but hey, a three is a three right? I was so pumped. As the seasons went by, I just kept working hard at basketball and my skills kept getting better and better. The coaches recognized my dedication and started giving me moreplaying time in games. That meant so much because it showed my effort was paying off.Eventually, I even became one of the starting five players in my league which was crazy! My parents and brother were always so proud watching me play from the stands. Some games I'd have awesome performances where I'd score a bunch of points and grab lots of rebounds. Other games, I'd have off nights where I couldn't make a shot to save my life. But win or lose, I just loved being out there competing.Last summer, I attended a super cool basketball camp for a week. It was an overnight camp where we stayed in cabins and just ate, slept and breathed basketball from morning until night. I got so many specialized skills and strategies from the expert coaches. They taught us dribbling drills, shooting techniques, defensive positioning, and also awesome stuff like how to be a team leader and have a positive mindset. I made a bunch of new friends at camp who were just as obsessed with basketball as me. We still keep in touch and bike about our basketball lives. These days, I'm the captain of my middle school basketball team which is such an honor. We've worked so hard and made it all the way to the championship game coming up in a few weeks! Our team has great chemistry both on and off the court. We lovegetting together for team sleepovers, watching basketball movies, and analyzing the pros' moves then putting them into practice. No matter what happens in the big championship though, I'm just grateful for the incredible experience basketball has given me so far. It's taught me discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and most importantly, how to have fun and not get down on myself. Basketball will always be a huge part of my life. When I move on to high school, I definitely plan on trying out for the basketball team. And who knows, maybe I'll even make it professionally to the NBA someday! Just kidding, but a kid can dream right? Whether I make it pro or not, I know basketball will always be my main passion. That beautiful sound of dribbling up the court and slick sound of the net swishing as you nail a jumper...that's pure bliss right there. So if you're a youngster wondering what sport to get into, I can't recommend basketball enough. It's an awesome way to get exercise, bond with teammates, and learn so many valuable life skills. You might stink at first, but stick with it! As my coach said, practice makes progress. Before you know it, you could end upbeing the next LeBron James...or at least the next stat-stuffing, basketball obsessed 6th grader like yours truly!篇4My Awesome Experience Playing SoccerHi there! My name is Michael and I'm a 6th grader at Oak Grove Elementary School. Today I want to tell you all about my experience playing soccer over the past few years. Soccer is seriously the coolest sport ever and I'm totally obsessed with it!It all started when I was 7 years old. My parents signed me up for a local recreational soccer league because they wanted me to be active and make some friends. At first, I wasn't really that excited about it. I kind of thought soccer seemed boring - just a bunch of kids running around and kicking a ball. Boy was I wrong! The first few practices were pretty fun. We did all kinds of drills and games to learn the basics like dribbling, passing, and shooting. My coach, who was really nice, taught us the rules too.I started to get excited to go to practice and games each week. Then we had our first game of the season. That's when I truly fell in love with soccer! There's just something amazing aboutbeing out on that big green field, running your heart out, and trying to score goals. The adrenaline, the teamwork, the celebrations after scoring - it's just the best feeling ever.I wasn't very good at first, but I practiced a ton and incrementally improved each season. By age 9, I was one of the better players on my recreational team. I scored a lot of goals and had a bunch of assists. My teammates were funny and we always had a blast together, win or lose. The next year, I decided to take my soccer journey to the next level by trying out for a competitive travel team. These teams are way more intense - we had practice 3-4 times per week instead of just once. The coaching was extremely detailed and we learned tons of advanced skills and strategies.Making the competitive team was one of my biggest accomplishments ever. The tryouts were super nerve-wracking but I guess I did well enough with my footwork, shooting, and endurance testing. When I made the team, I was overwhelmed with pride and excitement!Playing at that elite level was challenging but so rewarding. We got to travel all around the region for tournaments against other strong teams. The competition pushed me to get waybetter. I'll never forget how it felt to score a game-winninggoal in overtime during one tournament when I was 11. My teammates piled on top of me and I've never experienced a happier moment! Some games were frustrating too when we didn't play well. Once I even got a red card for getting mad and saying something I shouldn't have to the referee. I felt terrible and learned a valuable lesson about keeping my composure and sportsmanship. Overall though, soccer gave me the best memories from my childhood. Now that I'm in 6th grade, I've aged out of that travel team but I still play for my middle school team. I'm not as obsessed with it as I was a few years ago, but it's still a huge part of my life and my favorite sport. Soccer has taught me so many invaluable lessons about hard work, teamwork, dealing with success and failure, and how rewarding it feels to pour your heart into something.I'm so grateful my parents introduced me to soccer at a young age. Without it, I wouldn't have found my passion, made so many great friends, learned critical life skills, or created such amazing childhood memories. I don't know if I'll ever play at an elite level again, but soccer will always have a special place in my heart. If you haven't tried it before, I highly recommend giving soccer a chance. It might seem boring at first, but it could just become your favorite thing like it is for me! Just make sure you bring your hustle, determination, and positive attitude. Who knows, you might just fall in love with the beautiful game too!篇5My Awesome Basketball AdventureHi there! My name is Tommy and I'm going to tell you all about the coolest sport I've ever played - basketball! It all started last year when I was in 5th grade. One day during recess, I was just hanging out on the playground when I saw some older kids playing basketball on the court. I had never really paid much attention to the game before, but watching them run around, dribbling the ball and trying to make baskets looked like so much fun.I asked if I could join in and to my surprise, they said yes! Now I have to admit, I was pretty terrible at first. I could barely dribble without losing control of the ball and my shots almost never went in the hoop. But those nice older kids didn't make fun of me or get mad. Instead, they showed me how to dribble properly by keeping the ball low and using my fingertips tocontrol it. They taught me the fundamentals of shooting a basket like squaring my shoulders, bending my knees, and following through. The more I practiced those basic skills, the better I got. Before long, I was making baskets left and right! Basketball quickly became my absolute favorite thing to do at recess. Some days I would get so caught up in playing that I'd totally lose track of time. A few times the recess monitors even had to practically drag me off the court because I didn't want to go back to class. As my skills improved, I started getting really competitive. I'd talk a little trash with my friends, saying things like "Who wants to get crushed by the basketball legend Tommy?" or "You guys better watch out for my super spin move dribble!" My buddies would just laugh at me, but they knew I was just joking around in good fun. Well, kind of. I did desperately want to win every game!Eventually, I heard that the school was going to have basketball tryouts for the 6th grade team. You bet I was first in line to sign up! I practiced dribbling and shooting every single day to get ready. When the tryouts came, I played my absolute hardest, running up and down the court, showing off all my awesome moves. At the end, the coaches gathered us all together. I was sooo nervous, scared that I might not make the team after all my hard work. But then, the head coach called out "Tommy!" as one of the first players on the team. I had made it! All those hours of practice had paid off. As I walked home that day, I was grinning from ear to ear. My mom laughed and asked why I looked so happy. I told her "Mom, I'm a basketball star now!"Once the season started, things got really real. We had soooo many tough practices running drills and doing conditioning to get in shape. I thought I was going to die after the first few! My body ached all over and there were days I could barely walk from being so sore. But I kept pushing myself, determined to be the best player I could. Our first game came up quick. I was incredibly nervous in the hours beforehand. What if I messed up? What if I let my team down? My stomach was doing flip-flops. But as soon as the whistle blew to start the game, all my nerves went away. I was just focused on playing hard. The game was an absolute battle. We went back and forth, trading baskets. With under a minute left, we were down by 2 points. We called a timeout to set up one final play. The ball got passed to me at the 3-point line. I took a deep breath, aimedcarefully, and let the shot fly. The ball seemed to move in slow motion as it arced towards the hoop...and went in! My shot put us ahead by 1 with only seconds left. We won! After the buzzer, my teammates mobbed me, cheering and giving me high fives. I had hit the game winning shot in my first basketball game ever. What an incredible feeling! As I looked around at all my friend's smiling faces, I knew that all my hard work had been worth it. Basketball is way more than just a game to me. It taught me how satisfying it feels to work towards a goal and accomplish it through practice and determination. It's an incredible life lesson I'll never forget.I can't wait for basketball season to start up again this year. I've been working on my jump shot and some new moves all summer. This time, I'm going for the championship!篇6My Awesome Soccer ExperienceHey there! My name is Alex and I'm going to tell you all about the coolest sport I've ever played - soccer! Soccer is like the best game ever. You get to run around, kick a ball, and score awesome goals. What could be better?I started playing soccer when I was just 6 years old. My parents signed me up for a local recreational team called the Lightning Bolts. Our team colors were yellow and blue which I thought was so rad. I remember my first practice like it was yesterday. I was sooo nervous to play with all the other kids. But my coach, Coach Mike, was really nice and made me feel welcome right away.At first, I wasn't very good at soccer. I had a hard time kicking the ball straight and I was scared to go after it when other kids had it. But Coach Mike gave me lots of encouragement. He said "Don't worry Alex, you'll get better with practice. The most important thing is to have fun!" Those words really stuck with me.After a few weeks of practicing my dribbling, passing, and shooting, I started to get the hang of it. The running, kicking, and teamwork parts of soccer became really fun for me. We even started playing games against other town's recreational teams. Scoring my first goal was beyond epic! The ball rocketed off my foot into the corner of the net. I've never felt a bigger adrenaline rush than in that moment. As the seasons went on, I just kept improving at every aspect of soccer. My confidence on the field grew a ton. I went frombeing shy and hanging back to being aggressive and proactive. I became a massive supporter and cheerleader for all my teammates. And I celebrated every goal we scored, whether I had scored it or not. Being part of a team was an amazing feeling. My skills peaked around 4th and 5th grade. That's when I made my town's competitive traveling soccer team, the Thunder Strikers. We had game day uniforms, did special training sessions, and traveled all around the state to play the best teams. The experience of playing competitive soccer at a high level was unreal. Some of my favorite memories were from the big tournaments we went to. There was one tournament in particular that I'll never forget. It was the Regional Cup Tournament and the best teams from 5 different states were there. In thesemi-final game, we were losing 1-0 with only 3 minutes left. I got the ball near midfield, did a couple moves to get past defenders, and launched a shot from 25 yards out that knuckled past the goalie's outstretched arms into the top corner. Bedlam! My teammates piled on me in celebration. We ended up winning that game in overtime and made it to the finals. Although we lost in the finals, making it that far was still an incredible feat for us.Over the years, soccer has taught me so many valuable lessons that I'll take with me through the rest of my life. It taught me discipline, teamwork, perseverance, confidence, leadership, and most importantly, to have fun and not take myself too seriously. Some of my best friends to this day are kids I met through soccer.Even though I'm headed to middle school next year, you can bet I'll still be playing soccer. I might try out for the school team or join a competitive club team. Maybe I'll even make it as a pro player one day! Either way, soccer will forever be my passion. That feeling of scoring a goal, winning a big game, and being a team player is unmatched.I really encourage all of you to get out there and play soccer or any sport that interests you. Sports are an incredible way to stay active, learn skills, make friends, and have fun. You never know, you might just find your calling like I did with soccer. Just lace up those cleats, grab a ball, and get out on that field! Who's with me?。

TheMidnightVisitor_大学英语作文
The Midnight VisitorAusable did not fit the description of any secret agent. Fowler had ever read about. Following him down the corridor of the old French hotel where Ausable had a room, Fowler felt disappointed. It was a small room, on the sixth and top floor and hardly a setting for a romantic figure.銆銆 Ausable was, for one thing, fat. Very fat. Very fat. And then there was his accent. Though he spoke French and German fairly well, he had never altogether lost the New England accent he had brought to Pairs from Boston twenty years ago.銆銆鈥淵ou are disappointed,鈥?Ausable said over his shoulder. 鈥淵ou were told that I was a secret agent, a spy. You wished to meet me because you are a writer, young and romantic. You expected mysterious figures in the right, the crack of pistols, drugs in the wine.鈥?銆銆鈥淚nstead, you have spent a whole evening in a French music hall with a dirty顎憀ooking fat man who, instead of having messages slipped into his hand by dark -- eyed beauties, gets only an ordinary telephone call making an appointment in his room. You have been bored!鈥?The fat man laughted quietly as he unlocked the door of his room and stood aside to let his guest enter.銆銆鈥淏ut take cheer, my young friend,鈥?Ausable told him.銆銆鈥淪oon you will see a paper, a quite important paper for which several men and women have risked their lives, come to me in the next顎憈o顎憀ast step of its journey into official hands. Some day that paper may well affect the course of history. In that thought is drama, is there not?鈥?As he spoke, Ausable closed the door behind him. Then he turned on the light.銆銆 And as the light came on, Fowler had his first shock of the day. For halfway across the room, a small pistol in his hand, stood a man. Ausable blinked a few times.銆銆鈥淢ax,鈥?he said, 鈥測ou gave me quite a start. I thought you were in Berlin. What are you doing in my room?鈥?銆銆 Max was thin, not tall, and with a face that suggested the look of a fox. Except for the gun, he did not look very dangerous.銆銆鈥淭he report,鈥?he said in a quiet voice. 鈥淭he report that is being brought to you tonight about some new missiles. I thought I would take it from you. It will be safer in my hands than in yours.鈥?銆銆 Ausable moved to an armchair and sat down heavily. 鈥淚'm going to raise the devil with the management this time; I am angry,鈥?he said firmly. 鈥淭his is the second time in a month that somebody has gotten into my room from that balcony!鈥?Fowler's eyes went to the single window of the room. It was an ordinary window, with the black night outside.銆銆鈥淏alcony?鈥?Max asked. 鈥淣o, I had a passkey. I did not know about the balcony. It could have saved me some trouble had I known about it.鈥?銆銆鈥淚t's not my balcony,鈥?explained Ausable angrily. 鈥淚t belongs to the next apartment. You see, this room used to be part of a large unit, and the next room had the balcony, which extends under my window now. You can get onto it from the empty room next door, and somebody did, last month. The management promised to block it off. But they haven't.鈥?銆銆 Fowler was standing stiffly near Ausable. 鈥淧lease sit down,鈥?said Max to Fowler, waving his gun with a commanding gesture. 鈥淲e have a wait of about half an hour.鈥?銆銆鈥淚 wish I knew how you Germans learned about the report, Max,鈥?said Ausable.銆銆The little spy smiled. 鈥淎nd we wish we knew how people got the report. But, no harm has been done. I will get it back tonight. What is that? Who is at the door?鈥?銆銆 Fowler jumped at the sudden knocking at the door.銆銆 usable just smiled. 鈥淭hat will be the police,鈥?he said, 鈥淚 thought that such an important paper as the one we were waiting for should have a little extra protection. I told them to check on me to make sure everything was all right.鈥?銆銆 Max bit his lip.The knocking was repeated.銆銆鈥淲hat will you do now, Max?鈥?Ausable asked. 鈥淚f I do not answer the door, they will enter anyway. The door is unlocked. And they will not hesitate to shoot.鈥?銆銆Max's face was black with anger as he backed swiftly toward the window; with his hand behind him, he opened the window and put his leg out into the night. 鈥淚 will wait on the balcony. Send them away or I'll shoot and take my chances!鈥?銆銆 The knocking at the door became louder and a voice was raised. 鈥淢r. Ausable! Mr. Ausable!鈥?銆銆 Keeping his body twisted so that his gun still covered the fat man and his guest, the man at the window seized the frame with his free hand to support himself as he rested his weight on one thigh. Then he swung his other leg up and over the window sill.銆銆 The doorknob turned. Swiftly Max pushed with his left hand to free himself, and dropped to the balcony. And then as he dropped, he screamed once shrilly.銆銆 The door opened and a waiter stood there with a tray, a bottle and two glasses. 鈥淗ere is the drink you ordered, sir.鈥?Heset the tray on the table and left the room.銆銆 White faced and shaking, Fowler stared after him. 鈥淏ut... but... what about... the police?鈥?he stammered.銆銆鈥淭here never were any police,鈥?Ausable said. 鈥淥nly Henry, whom I was expecting.鈥?銆銆鈥淏ut what about the man on the balcony...?鈥?Fowler began.。

This is the default when halt is called as poweroff.DIAGNOSTICSIf you鈥檙e not the superuser, you will get the message 鈥榤ust be superuser鈥? Users logged in locally on the console can call halt, reboot, and poweroff without supplying the root password, due to pam_console (8).NOTESUnder older sysvinit releases , reboot and halt should never be called directly. From release 2.74 on halt and reboot invoke shutdown(8) if the system is not in runlevel 0 or 6. This means that if halt or reboot cannot find out the current runlevel (for example, when /var/run/utmp hasn鈥檛 been initializedcorrectly) shutdown will be called, which might not be what you want. Use the -f flag if you want to do a hard halt or reboot. The -h flag puts all harddisks in standby mode just before halt or poweroff. Right now this is only implemented for IDE drives. A side effect of puttingthe drive in standby mode is that the write cache on the disk is flushed. This is important for IDE drives, since the kernel doesn鈥檛 flush the write-cache itself before poweroff. The halt program uses /proc/ide/hd* to find all IDE disk devices, which means that /proc needs to be mounted when halt or poweroff is called or the -hswitch will do nothing.AUTHORMiquelvanSmoorenburg,******************SEE ALSOshutdown(8), init(8), pam_console(8)Nov 6, 2001 HALT(8)(END)2:强制重新开机,不调⽤shutdown指令的功能[root@DB-Server ~]# reboot -f3:关闭⽹络设置之后再重新启动系统[root@DB-Server ~]# reboot -iBroadcast message from root (pts/1) (Mon Jul 28 11:31:28 2014):The system is going down for reboot NOW!4:保存数据后再重新启动系统[root@DB-Server ~]# reboot -nBroadcast message from root (pts/1) (Mon Jul 28 11:33:57 2014):The system is going down for reboot NOW!5:重新启动时不把数据写⼊记录⽂件/var/tmp/wtmp[root@DB-Server ~]# reboot -dBroadcast message from root (pts/2) (Mon Jul 28 11:23:26 2014):The system is going down for reboot NOW!以上就是本⽂的全部内容,希望对⼤家的学习有所帮助,也希望⼤家多多⽀持。

“Blade Runner” Oscar Pistorius
Oscar Pistorius was born on November 22, 1986 in South Africa. But there was something wrong with his legs. When he was only 11 months old, doctors had to cut off his legs below the knees.
Six months later, little Oscar put on his man-made legs. He could only walk on them from then on, but he never felt sad. He always felt he was the same as other children. As a schoolboy, he played different kinds of sports. He became stronger and stronger and ran faster and faster. At the age of 17, he ran in the 100 meters in an open match after only two months’ training. He ran it in 11.51 seconds and the world record was 12.2 seconds.
People call Oscar “Blade Runner”because his new man-made feet look like blades. After his hard work, he can compete against other runners who are able-bodied. His story makes us understand what is “Faster, Higher, Stronger”. Blade runner races against a horse
The Aspire Zone in Doha saw an unusual race on Wednesday as Oscar Pistorius from South Africa, widely known as the "Blade-runner", took on the challenge of racing against an Arabian horse, and the efforts are all for promoting disability sport and fighting discrimination in the region.
The 26-year-old sprinter won the race against the horse, though the result would not even matter. He was in Doha for the "Definitely Able" campaign which uses special events to raise awareness about disability issues.
Pistorius has striven for years to compete with Olympic-qualified athletes, of course with two legs. Now he even raised the stakes further by taking on an opponent with four legs. It was promoted as the "run like the wind challenge".
He made history at the London Games this year when he became the first double-amputee to compete at the Olympics. Before that, he had earned two gold medals at the Paralympics.
Oscar Pistorius, South African Blade Runner, said, "It wasn’t about who won today, it was just about coming out here and really just showing people that those with disabilities are not to be stereotyped against. Having the Arab horse out here, which is a symbolisation of strength and power in this region. To be able to do a showcase event like this is a lot of fun. So thanks to everybody who came out here, it was a good night and hopefully it will do a lot to change the perceptions of people with disabilities in this region."
South Africa's Paralympian Oscar Pistorius was arrested on Thursday for allegedly killing his girl friend, police said. Pistorius reportedly mistook his girl friend Reeva Steenkamp as a burglar at his Pretoria home and shot her in her arm and head with a 9mm pistol early Thursday morning.
Steenkamp, a blonde model, was declared dead on the scene by paramedics who were alerted by neighbors.
Police spokesman Denise Beukes said a case of murder has been opened.
Pistorius, who was traumatized by losing a person he said he was very close to, was fully cooperating with the investigation, Beukes said.
Oscar Pistorius is taken on Friday from a police station to court with his face covered in Pretoria, South Africa, where he faces a murder charge. The Paralympic and Olympic athlete is accused of killing his girlfriend, 29-year-old model Reeva Steenkamp, who was found shot dead at his home on Thursday。
