Author Introduction
• Jane. Austen was born on 16 December,1775 at the rectory in the village of Stevenson in Hampshire. She was educated mainly at home by her father and brother. She was an English novelist whose realism ,burlesque and irony have earned her a place as one of the most widely read.
Gist
• The story describes marriage of England in the countryside in 19 century . It reflects the social position of women and express the idea that oppose the decadent ancestry conception .It shows that women run after dream of striving for independence of marriage.

Setting
The story takes place in England in the early 1800’s. During the time known as the Regency period. During this period ,most families started becoming wealthy, the book reflects that society was divided into the “newly wealthy families” and “older wealthy families”
• Second daughter names Elizabeth who is clever and lively. The aristocrat, Mr. Darcy, loves her, but Elizabeth listens to Wickham’s slander, so she shows “prejudice” for Mr. Darcy and refusester ,Lydia, is very frivolous and is taken in Wickham. She run away with him .At that moment ,Mr. Darcy tries his best to solve the matter and keeps the Banat’s dignity. Last, Elizabeth puts down her “prejudice” to Mr. Darcy. In the meanwhile ,Mr. Darcy also puts down his “pride” They are married.
