Youth

Youth
Samuel Ullman
Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind.
It is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees.
It is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, vigor of the emotions;
it is the freshness of the deep spring of life.
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease.
This often exits in a man of 60, more than a boy of 20.nobody grows merely by the number of years; we grow old by deserting our ideas.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm
wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.
Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being’s hea rt the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living.
In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from infinite, so long as you are young.
When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with the snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, t hen you’ve grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, t here’s hope you may die young at 80.
Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind. It is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep spring of life.
These are what I have and what we have at this period of life.
So, I'm still young, yes, definitely ! Come on my fellow friends, show your energy and passion to this god damn world !
Let the universe hear our voice, see our cheek, hug our enthusiasm and witness our maturity. We're going to create a brand new future !

All the Difference in The World

Every Sunday morning I take a light jog around a park near my home.
There’s a lake located in one corner of the park. Each time I jog by this lake, I see the same elderly woman sitting at the
water’s edge with a small metal cage sitting beside her.

This past Sunday my curiosity got the best of me, so I stopped jogging and walked over to her.

As I got closer, I realized that the metal cage was in fact a small trap.

There were three turtles, unharmed, slowly walking around the base of the trap.

[ls]She had a fourth turtle in her lap that she was carefully scrubbing with a spongy brush.[/ls]

“H ello,” I said. “If you don’t mind my nosiness, I’d love to know what you’re doing with these turtles.”

She smiled. “I’m cleaning off their shells ,” she replied.

“Anything on a turtle’s shell, like algae or scum, reduces the turtle’s ability to absorb heat and impedes its ability to swim. It can also corrode and weaken the shell over time.”

She went on: “I s pend a couple of hours each Su nday morning, relaxing by this lake and helping these little guys out.
It’s my own strange way of making a difference.

“But don’t most freshwater turtles live the ir whole lives with algae and s cum hanging from their shells?” I asked.

“Yep, sadly, they do,” she replied.

“Well then, don’t you think your time could be better spent? And 99% of these turtles don’t have kind people like you to help them clean off their shells. So, no offense… but how exactly are your localized efforts here truly making a difference?”

The woman giggled aloud.

She then looked down at the turtle in her lap, scrubbed off the last piece of algae from its shell, and said, “Sweetie, if this little guy could talk, he’d tell you I just made all the difference in the world.

”。
