The 2019 Tian Jiabing Cup Was So Cool!
Last month, my school had a really exciting event called the 2019 Tian Jiabing Cup Teachers' Skills Competition for Subject English. I couldn't wait to watch it! All the English teachers at my school competed to see who was the best at teaching English. It was like a big contest or game show, but just for the teachers instead of students like me.
The first round was called the "Teaching Skills Competition." Each teacher had to give a sample English lesson on a different topic to a small group of students. I got to be one of the students! My teacher Mrs. Wang taught us all about different fruits and vegetables in English. She made it really fun by bringing in real fruits and veggies for us to look at, touch, and even taste some of them. She's such a good teacher.
After all the sample lessons, the judges scored each teacher on things like how clearly they explained things, if their lesson was engaging and interactive, and if the students seemed to
understand the material well. The teachers with the highest scores after that round moved on to the next one.
The second round was the "English Drama Performance." This was probably my favorite part! The teachers who advanced had to perform a short play or skit completely in English with no help. Some of them were so hilarious and funny. Mr. Li did this great performance where he acted out being different animals. For the tiger, he made a fierce roaring sound and pretended to stalk around like a big cat hunting prey. Then for the mouse, he made his voice all squeaky and timid as he scurried around looking for crumbs. It was so silly and had the whole audience, including me, laughing so hard!
Other drama performances told more serious stories though. Mrs. Chen did one about the importance of protecting the environment and not littering. Her skit showed the negative impacts of pollution visually in a really powerful way that made you think. Even though I'm just a kid, it inspired me to be more environmentally conscious.
There was also something called the "English Speech" round, where the teachers had to give a prepared speech in English on an assigned topic. Mr. Wang talked all about the history and cultural traditions of the Spring Festival, which was fascinating to
learn about. He even knew lots of interesting facts I'd never heard before! Mrs. Zhou's speech was on childhood education and establishing good study habits early. Even though I already knew I should work hard in school, she motivated me to take my studies extra seriously.
Finally after all those rounds, the judges tallied up all the scores and decided on the winners. Third place went to Mrs. Wang for her awesome fruits and veggies lesson that helped me learn so much. Mr. Li came in second place for his hilarious and creative animal drama performance. Then the first place winner of the whole 2019 Tian Jiabing Cup was.....Mrs. Chen! She swept all the rounds with her powerful environmental skit and beautiful speech about the importance of lifelong learning. We were all so proud of her.
At the end, the principals gave speeches honoring all the talented teachers and there was a big award ceremony. Each of the top three winners got a trophy and a certificate. Mrs. Chen also won a decent amount of prize money, which I heard she plans to donate to environmental charities. How awesome is that?
The 2019 Tian Jiabing Cup was such an amazing experience for me and all the students at my school. We got to see firsthand
how skilled and dedicated our English teachers are. It made me appreciate them so much more and feel even more motivated to study English hard. I can't wait for next year's competition already! Hopefully I'll get to participate in some of the performances when I'm a bit older. Getting to be a teacher for a day and show off my English skills in front of everyone would be so fun and exciting. Thanks to the 2019 Tian Jiabing Cup, it reaffirmed how much I love learning English. It's such a great language and so useful to know. Who knows, maybe I'll even become an English teacher myself one day!

The 2019 Tin Ka Ping Cup Was So Much Fun!
Hi there! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I just had the best day ever at the 2019 Tin Ka Ping Cup Teachers' Skills Competition in Subject English. Let me tell you all about it!
It was a sunny Saturday morning when my mom and dad drove me to the big convention center where the competition was being held. There were so many people there - teachers, principals, students, and their families all dressed up for the occasion. The place was buzzing with excitement!
First up was the opening ceremony. A bunch of important looking people in suits came on stage and gave speeches about how great teachers are and how we need to appreciate them more. It was kind of boring but my mom said I had to be polite and listen. Finally they finished talking and the real fun began!
The first event was called the "Learning and Teaching Materials Design" competition. A bunch of teachers had made really creative teaching aids and put them on display. There were games, models, paintings, you name it! My favorite was this huge 3D model of a rainforest that even had little animals you could move around. So cool! The teachers explained how they would use each material to make lessons more interesting and help kids understand better. I wished my teachers were that creative!
Next up was the "Classroom Teaching" event. This is where individual teachers had to actually teach a mini-lesson on stage, just like they do in our classrooms every day. There were lessons on all kinds of topics - reading, writing, grammar, you name it. The teachers used fun props, did roleplays and activities, asked us questions...it was just like being in class except way more entertaining! One teacher even did her whole lesson in the form of a rap. My friends and I were cracking up the whole time. These teachers were awesome!
After that was the "English Speaking" competition. Teachers had to choose a topic and give a speech about it, just like a mini-TED talk. I was pretty impressed by how fluently they could all speak English. Some of the topics were really interesting too, like one teacher who spoke about how technology is changing education. Another talked about her philosophy for motivating students. It was cool to hear the teachers' perspectives instead of just having them lecture us students all the time!
The last event was my favorite - the "English Story-Telling" competition. Teachers had to come up with creative stories and tell them on stage using props, costumes, you name it. It was like watching a little play! One story was about a brave knight who had to go on a quest. The teacher even had a cardboard sword and cape. Another was set in outer space and the teacher used glow-in-the-dark props which looked so awesome under the stage lights. The stories were funny, suspenseful, whimsical...the teachers were such talented storytellers. I could have listened to them all day!
In between each event there were talented students who performed by singing English songs or doing drama skits. My friend Emily's older sister did an amazing poem recitation. She has such a beautiful voice!
Finally, after a whole day of competitions, it was time for the award ceremony. An expert panel of judges had been watching everything and chose the winners for each event. The teachers who won looked so proud and happy as they received their big trophies on stage. Some were even crying tears of joy! My mom leaned over and told me that for teachers, winning an award like this is a really big deal and shows how talented and hardworking they are. I decided then and there that my dream is to have an awesome teacher like that someday.
As we were leaving, I saw some of the winning teachers getting interviewed and having their photos taken. They looked like stars! A few nearby students even asked them for autographs. I'm sure those teachers felt so special.
The 2019 Tin Ka Ping Cup was such an amazing experience. It really opened my eyes to how hard teachers work and how creative and passionate they are about teaching us kids. It made me appreciate my own teachers so much more. I'm definitely going to pay more attention and be on my best behavior in class from now on! Teachers really are superheroes.
I really hope I can attend the competition again next year. For now, I'm just so grateful I got to be a part of this celebration
of the best teachers around. Three cheers for the 2019 Tin Ka Ping Cup winners! Hip hip hooray!

The 2019 Tin Ka Ping Cup Teachers' Skills Competition
Hi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm a 5th grade student at Sunny Hills Elementary School. I'm really excited to tell you all about the 2019 Tin Ka Ping Cup Teachers' Skills Competition that my school hosted last month. It was such a fun and interesting event!
For those of you who don't know, the Tin Ka Ping Cup is a big competition where teachers from different schools compete by showing off their teaching skills in different subjects like math, science, and English. The winner gets a huge trophy and a lot of prize money! Pretty cool, right?
This year, the competition at my school was all about teaching English. Ten teachers from schools around the city came to participate. I was able to watch the whole thing up close with some of my classmates and it was amazing seeing how talented and creative the teachers were.
The first round was called the "Micro-Teaching" round. Each teacher had to give a short 10-minute lesson on an English topic like grammar, vocabulary, or reading comprehension. My favorite was Mr. Roberts from Cedar Ridge Elementary. He taught us all about adjectives in the funniest way by having us describe different silly characters he drew on the board. I'll never forget what a "zany" or "peculiar" adjective is now!
After the micro-lessons, it was time for the "Teaching Application" round. This is where the teachers had to show how they would actually teach an English lesson in a real classroom setting. They brought in props, did fun activities with some student volunteers, and really made the lessons come alive.
Ms. Kapoor from Oakwood Academy was incredible in this round. For her lesson on narrative writing, she transformed the whole gymnasium into a fantastical castle setting with big cardboard towers and even cloud decorations hung from the ceiling. We got to go on an "adventure" around the castle and look for clues and details to include in our own magical stories. It was so creative and engaging!
While the judges were deciding on the winners, we got to take a short break and enjoy some snacks and refreshments. I ate way too many cookies but they were so yummy! There were also
game booths set up where we could win little prizes. I played a English vocabulary tic-tac-toe game and won a cute pencil case.
Finally, it was time for the awards ceremony. The judges had clearly had a very hard time deciding because all of the teachers were just so talented. But in the end, the winners were:
3rd Place: Mr. Garcia from Hilltop Academy
2nd Place: Ms. Kapoor from Oakwood Academy
1st Place: Mr. Roberts from Cedar Ridge Elementary
When Mr. Roberts' name was called, the whole gym erupted in cheers! He got to take home the huge Tin Ka Ping Cup trophy and a check for 5,000. You could tell he was so proud and happy.
After all the excitement, I caught up with Mr. Roberts to ask him what this win meant to him. He said, "Winning this competition is such an incredible honor. But more importantly, it reminds me why I became a teacher in the first place - to inspire young minds and make learning engaging and fun. I'll never stop striving to be a creative, passionate educator for my students."
Hearing those words really struck a chord with me. All of the teachers who competed showed so much dedication to their craft and their love for teaching truly shone through, whether
they won an award or not. It made me appreciate how lucky I am to have such skilled and caring teachers at my own school.
The 2019 Tin Ka Ping Cup was such a memorable experience that I'll never forget. It got me excited about continuing

The 2019 Tian Jiabing Cup: An English Adventure!
Wow, what an exciting year this has been! The 2019 Tian Jiabing Cup Teacher Skills Competition for English was simply amazing. I was so lucky to get to watch some of the teachers competing. It was like being at the Olympics, but just for teachers showing off their English skills!
The competition started way back in March at the school level. All the English teachers had to take these crazy hard tests on English grammar, reading, writing, speaking, everything! Only the very best teachers from each school got to move on to the next round at the district level in April. My own English teacher, Miss Zhang, made it through that first round. I was so proud!
At the district competition, the teachers had to give demo lessons, teaching sample classes right there in front of the judges. Miss Zhang taught us about describing different animals. She
was so energetic and made it really fun with all her props and activities. I'll never forget the crazy dance moves she did pretending to be a monkey! The judges looked very impressed.
Because she did such a great job, Miss Zhang got through to the city finals in May. That's when things really got intense! The teachers had to undergo interview after interview, answering all sorts of tough questions about teaching methods, classroom management, you name it. There were also more test after more test on every aspect of English. I got tired just watching it all!
Finally after what seemed like a million rounds, it was time for the championship round in late May. This was broadcast live on television across the whole province. Millions of students like me were watching our amazing teachers compete at the very highest level. Miss Zhang made it all the way to the finals against teachers from all over. I was just bursting with pride!
In the final round, the last few teachers standing had to give a lecture on an assigned topic to show off their public speaking abilities. Then they had to teach a full model lesson as if it was a real class. The judges were super picky, grading every little detail of their teaching. It made me nervous just imagining having to perform under that kind of pressure!
When it was all over, the winners were finally announced. My beloved Miss Zhang ended up finishing in third place overall! Can you believe it? Third in the entire province out of thousands of English teachers! She got a huge trophy and a bunch of other prizes. Our whole school went nuts celebrating her achievement. We even got to have a big ceremony just to honor Miss Zhang's amazing performance. I've never seen her looking happier.
That 2019 Tian Jiabing Cup really showed how talented and dedicated our English teachers are. I have a whole new level of respect and appreciation for all the hard work they put into helping us learn this incredibly difficult language. Teachers like Miss Zhang are true heroes, busting their butts to guide us on our English journeys. After this experience, I'm more motivated than ever to study hard so I can become an English master too!
I'll never forget the thrills of watching that 2019 competition. It got me even more excited about learning English from the very best teachers. Thinking about Miss Zhang's third place finish, I feel so incredibly lucky to have such a skilled, passionate teacher. Maybe one day I'll follow in her footsteps and compete in the Tian Jiabing Cup myself as an amazing English teacher! For now, I just want to give a huge shoutout and round of applause to Miss
Zhang and all the other great teachers who showcased their talents in 2019. You all are true champions!

The 2019 Tin Ka Ping Cup Teachers' Skills Competition
Hooray! It was the most exciting day of the year – the 2019 Tin Ka Ping Cup Teachers' Skills Competition! Every year, my school sends our best teachers to participate in this big contest, and they always come back with amazing prizes and trophies. This year, I was lucky enough to be part of the audience and witness the whole event unfold.
As soon as I stepped into the grand hall, I was mesmerized by the vibrant decorations and the buzz of excitement in the air. Colorful banners hung from the ceiling, and the stage was decked out with flowers and ribbons. Rows of chairs were neatly arranged, and I quickly found a spot right in the front, eager to get the best view.
The competition began with a grand opening ceremony. A group of students from different schools performed a lively dance routine, their movements synchronized and their smiles radiant. Then, the host took the stage and welcomed everyone
with a booming voice. He introduced the judges, who were all renowned educators and experts in their fields.
The first competition was the "Subject Knowledge Challenge," where teachers had to answer questions about their respective subjects. It was like watching a game show, but instead of winning cash prizes, the teachers were vying for the coveted title of "Subject Master." I was amazed by their vast knowledge and how quickly they could recall facts and figures.
Next up was the "Classroom Management Showcase," where teachers had to demonstrate their skills in managing a simulated classroom environment. Some teachers used creative techniques to keep the students engaged, while others displayed firm yet gentle control over the class. It was fascinating to see how they handled different situations and maintained a positive learning atmosphere.
During the intermission, I munched on some delicious snacks and chatted with my friends about our favorite teachers and their performances so far. We couldn't wait to see what was in store for the afternoon session.
After the break, the "Lesson Planning and Delivery" competition began. Teachers had to design and deliver a lesson on a given topic, showcasing their ability to engage students,
convey complex concepts, and foster a love for learning. I was captivated by their innovative teaching methods, interactive activities, and the way they made even the most challenging subjects seem enjoyable.
The final competition was the "Collaborative Teaching" event, where teams of teachers worked together to plan and execute a comprehensive lesson plan. It was incredible to witness their teamwork, communication, and seamless coordination as they divided tasks and supported each other throughout the process.
As the day drew to a close, the judges tallied the scores, and the anticipation in the hall was palpable. Finally, the host took the stage once more and announced the winners. When my favorite teacher's name was called, I couldn't contain my joy and cheered loudly, joining the thunderous applause that filled the room.
The closing ceremony was a heartwarming celebration of the teachers' hard work and dedication. Each winner received a trophy and certificate, but the real prize was the pride and sense of accomplishment they felt. As I watched them proudly display their awards, I couldn't help but feel inspired and grateful to
have such amazing educators shaping the minds of the future generation.
On the way home, I couldn't stop talking about the incredible performances I had witnessed. The 2019 Tin Ka Ping Cup Teachers' Skills Competition was a true celebration of the art of teaching, showcasing the passion, creativity, and expertise of educators from around the region. It reminded me of the invaluable role teachers play in nurturing our minds and shaping our futures. I couldn't wait for the next competition to roll around, so I could cheer on my favorite teachers once again!

My Big Adventure at the English Competition
Hooray! It's time for the annual Tin Ka Ping Cup Teaching Skills Competition, and this year, I'm going to take part in the Subject English category! I can't wait to show off my English skills and maybe even win a prize. Let me tell you all about my big adventure!
It all started a few weeks ago when my English teacher, Miss Lee, announced that our school would be sending a team to the competition. She asked for volunteers, and of course, my hand shot right up! I just love English class and everything about the
language – the way the words sound, the funny idioms, and all the cool stories we read. Plus, I'm a bit of a show-off, so the idea of getting up on stage and performing really excited me.
Miss Lee picked me and four other students to be on the team. We started practicing right away, working on our pronunciation, grammar, and even some little skits and songs to perform. It was a lot of hard work, but also a ton of fun. We'd get together after school and on weekends, running through our routines over and over again.
Finally, the big day arrived! We all got up super early and headed to the competition venue, which was at this huge university downtown. There were kids from schools all over the city, and the energy was just electric. Everyone was buzzing with excitement and maybe a few butterflies too.
The first event was the spelling bee, and I have to admit, I was really nervous. But as soon as I stepped up to the microphone, all my worries just melted away. I focused on the words, sounding them out in my head, and spelling each one carefully. To my delight, I made it all the way to the final round before missing a particularly tricky word. Still, I was proud of myself for doing so well.
Next up was the storytelling competition, which was my favorite part. We had to take a classic children's tale and retell it in our own words, adding our own little twists and embellishments. I chose "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" because, well, who doesn't love that story? I had so much fun acting out all the different characters' voices and really bringing the story to life. The judges seemed to love it too, because I ended up winning first place!
After that, there were a few more events like a grammar quiz and a poetry recital. My teammates and I all did our best, cheering each other on every step of the way. Even though we didn't win the overall team prize, we still felt like champions just for making it to the competition.
At the end of the day, we were all exhausted but happy. Miss Lee treated us to ice cream sundaes to celebrate our hard work, and we couldn't stop chatting about all the fun we'd had. I made some new friends from other schools too, and we've already started making plans to practice together for next year's competition.
Looking back, the Tin Ka Ping Cup was one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of my life so far. Not only did I get to show off my English skills, but I also learned so much
about teamwork, perseverance, and believing in myself. I can't wait to do it all over again next year and maybe even bring home that big trophy for our school!
So if you're a kid who loves English like me, I highly recommend signing up for the competition. It's a lot of hard work, but it's also a total blast. Who knows? You might just discover a hidden talent you never knew you had. Just go for it and have fun – that's what it's all about!。
