I ntroduction of our lesson

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:
It is my great honor to be here and talk about our lesson. Our topic is “picnic”, this is the second period of this lesson. And it is for the Ss of Grade six.
Before we design the lesson, what do we consider? We consider 3 “M”s.: Motivation. Method and management. But how do we carry it out? We focus on five parts: objective, process, strategy, resource, and assessment.
According to English Course Standards, the main instructional aims of teaching English in primary school is to cultivate pupils' basic abilities of their listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. And it is very important to develop their keen interest and confidence in learning English.
Based on these, we make a lesson plan, let’s have a look.
First of all, I’d like to talk about the teaching materials.
This period is from Module 2, Unit 1 of New Standard English, book 6. All the students have already known some words and sentences about this topic. And they can use the structure “going to “to talk about planned actions simply. In the end of this class, the students can talk about planned actions exactly and tell the weekend play to their friends and families.
Here are the main teaching aims:
(1)The knowledge aims is to enable the students to master the structure “going to “. Make sure the students can use the structure in real situation. To help the students to talk about the picnic plan.
(2)The ability aims are to train the students’ s kills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. And develop the students’ abilities of co-operation, proper competition and communication in English.
(3)The emotion aim is to lead the students to love nature, love learning
and love life.
I think the most difficult point of this period is to make sure the stu dents can use the structure “going to“to talk about planned actions in t heir daily life correctly. And according to New English Course Standards, we needn’t to explain grammar knowledge in primary school, but just le t them know how to use it.
Secondly, let me talk about the teaching methods.
We all know, tell me, I will forget. Show me, I may remember. Involve me, I will understand. So in our lesson, we use the situation teaching method and task-based teaching method. And we have arranged many kinds of activities for the students to practice English happily.
And I will use some pictures, words and sentence cards, a tape rec order and the multi-media computer to help me achieve the aims.
Thirdly, let me talk about the main teaching procedures.
(1)At the beginning of the class, we design a chant and a guessing game to review some words. I think it is necessary for the children of Grade 6. The children at this age are always shyer than the younger pupils. They are always afraid of making mistake. And it is the first time I meet them, so the chant and the game will make them in a high spirit and fell relaxes.
(2)Next, we present the sentence pattern and get the students to practice in different activities, such as games, ask-and-answer and acting.
(3)After that, we pay a lot attention to a task. The task is to encourage the students to use the new sentence pattern to describe their ideal homes.
(4)At last, we show a flash and arouse the Ss' love for homes and families.
In the end of the class, I encourage Ss to use the learned to communicate with each other in their life.
In a word, the whole period is based on tasks, which are designed from easy to hard, step by step. When the Ss are acting out the tasks, they can acquire information, knowledge, and have their ability and skills trai ned.
