传统工艺多采用一些纯天然的材质进行手工制作,不管是编扎工艺所用的草、竹、藤，还是雕刻工艺所用的玉石、原木，从产品个体而言都非常绿色环保，生产过程以及消费过程也很少产生污染。

但从大的生态环境发展以及传统工艺可将续发展角度着眼,木断地索取以及依赖天然材质,不仅是对自然界的一种极大破坏，同时也给传统工艺的发展留下了隐患。

一旦资源耗尽枯竭，传统工艺也就失去了其生存最基本的基础环境，发展与传承就捉襟见肘，工艺衰退也就不可避免。

传统工艺素以制作精美细致著称，故而技艺较为繁琐堆砌,很多传世的传统工艺品有着现代人难以想象的美,这是古人对日用器具的品质追求以及其审美特性的一种极大表现，也因此吸引了很大一部分人的目光。

可是也不难发现，传统工艺背后所隐藏的精雕细琢的艺术追求固然令人赞叹与欣赏，但从根本上说这一审美特性在现代生活中已经缺乏根基,因其与现代人追求简约的审美情趣与需求完全相悖，市场低迷在所难免。

此外，江艺传永方式中很大一部分比例的是口口相传的所徒制，技州上传人之间的西对面长时间校艺很大程度上保证了技艺传承的完整性，但这种传尔方式也相对脆弱，极易出现人才断层与流失，使得传统工艺的发展潜藏了极大的不稳定性。

在没有大工业生产普及、也没有那么多外在从业诱惑的年代，经年累月的从业训练可以培养出一代又一代的优秀工艺传人，但到了现代，经济成本与时间成本核算直接导致传统工艺后继乏人，面临“人在技在，人亡艺绝”的困境，传承之路越走越窄。
