三、拟采取的研究方法、研究手段及技术路线、实验方案等
I study the paper by figure analysis, and text analysis. For example,I tempt to analyze Shylock, Antonio, etc. to portrait impartially Shylock’s image.Shylock as a Jewish made use of Christian beliefs to testify his words. “Shylock: when Jacobgraz’d his Uncle Labau’s sheep, This Jacob from our holy Abram was, Thos was a way to thrive, and he was blest; and thrift is blessing if men steel it not. Antonio: The devil can cite Scr源自文库pture for his purpose. (ACT 1, Scene3) From these word, Shylock as a Jew, cited Scripture for his purpose, but he should have burdened the duty of preserving his Jewish nation and paid more importance to his Jewish belief. However, he quoted the Christian story to prove his truth instead of making use of his Jewish belief. So we can draw a conclusion that he preserved the Jewish nation for the only purpose of his personal interest, so sometimes he may disobey the Jewish belief to attain further more fortune.
A lot of domestic and foreign scholars pay much more attention and do analysis on the works of literature master Shakespeare, in paticular, the role of Shylock inThe Merchant of Venice. This made us in full knowledge of the role by elaborating this image from different angles.Shakespeare was the literature master of the whole world; many scholars have been devoting their lives and time to studying his works, because he left us too much riddle topics. I believe the analysis of Shylock also in a persistent state. Especially in Ruankun’ s workThe Merchant of Venice and On Jewish Problem, the author embodied the topic in three parts, including religious contradiction, economic contradiction and contradiction of human and law in bourgeoisie. At the same time, by the virtue of figure analysis, text analysis and compare of the two books, it can be seen that Shylock was a believable contrary person, even an avatar of evils. Moreover it put forth a view point that whether Christian or synagogue must have the equal right in the religious activities and it was not necessary to differ who was the religious oppressor and who was the victim.
二、研究目标与主要内容(含论文提纲)
Throughthe analysis of Shylock, we can learn about Shakespeare andthe dark and gloomy side of the society, and reviewhim more accurately and give him the fair judgments; at the same time, we can hold the idea that the continual conflicts between Christianity and Judaism by the two bright characters of shylock and Antonio. Jews were looked down upon by the Christians, in a dark state. Therefore, facing all kinds of disputes, we must give the fair judgments of Shylock and let people know him clearly by the phrasing Shylock’s Jewish thoughts. Moreover, this can appear the history and destine ofJudeanationality. I write the paper to express theOn Shylock Jew’s Thoughts in a fare way.
2.1 Shylock as a money capitalist (Economical contradiction)
2.2 Antonio (Religious contradiction)
2.3 “A pound of flesh” (Bourgeoisie's humanity and legal contradiction)
一、选题依据(背景与意义、国内外研究现状与发展趋势)
During learningA Short History of English Literatureespecially Shakespeare’s works, I have been greatly interested in his workThe Merchant of Venice, which was filled with fun and was a “grave comedy”.It was written byShakespearein 1594-1596. The comedy refers to the dark and gloomy aspect of the society in a realism way. In this play,Shakespearesucceeds in portraying the typical role Jew Shylock. The role gave people many imaginations and reviews. Most people have been thinking that the role of Shylock is a both like and hating role. In my senior school, I have already learnt the play. I am impressed especially by the theatrical scene “cutting meat in the court”and the role of Shylock. In particular these words: “I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions, fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer as a Christian is.” give me deep impression. If taking no reality into consideration, these words were filled with incontrovertibly pitiful emotions. So many scholars admired these words for the sake of humanism when they reviewed the role. Most people think that the role of Shylock was an extreme devil in this play. Also we can draw a conclusion from many critical works that most writers placed Shylock in a bad image and analyzed his many characters from different aspects. So I single out this typical character to portrait impartially Shylock’s image so that people can learn about him more accurately and give him the fair judgments. By studying Shylock’s character, we can get full knowledge of Shakespeare’s works and learn about the essences and history of Synagogue and Jew. In turn, we can deal with the racial problem in a right way.
